pc wont run a recovery disc

need to return my pc back to factory setting, loaded the recovery disc and nothing happens, the disc drive is turning but not loading.

Will it run other discs, software, music?

If so, is the recovery disc clean?

Does it need to boot from the recovery disc?

when i put the disc in it load the disc with the information on whats on it but it wont run

has the machine got a factory restore partition.

have you set the machine up to boot from the disc, either in the bios, or by pressing a key at boot?

Why are you reinstalling?

it my brother pc, and every thing you try to open it comes up with a screen choose a program you want to use to open the file, hes also lost Internet explorer, tryed to set back to restore from pc and nothing happens.

sound like you need fixexe, to fix the file associations in the registry after a malware infection

thats what i thought it was infected, i loaded malwarebytes and spybot on a memory stick but they wont run either.
