  • Hello everyone

Thanks for your welcome yesterday. Could anyone help me by listing the daily tasks i have missed so far so that I can at least try a little to catch up on what I have missed.

Hi Everyone - Another lovely day

Slept in this morning, couldn't sleep last night, sultry night so didn't get my hoped for early night.

Right day 14 already - I read somewhere that a new habit takes 2 weeks to become established so hopefully some of those little new tweaks and regimes should be starting to kick in now.

Jimmy - I know there's a lot to read but, if you want the detail, get yourself half an hour or so with a cup of coffee and play catch up.

However just as a recap for all newbies - if this helps.

There are no set daily tasks as such - you choose your own, in your own time.

However the aim is to try and build into your day a little "me" time. During this time the suggestion is you do this

    1. One small beauty treatment per day
    2. Some exercise - try and find 10 mins to start with and then build up to about 20 to 30 mins each day.

That's it - it really is that simple.

In addition there are a few few tweaks to your routine

    Wear perfume every day
Keep rubber gloves by the sink and wear them
    Think about adding some vitamins
Tweak your diet to try & eat healthily

There were some suggestions as to role models for inspiration and some TV programmes/films to get style ideas.

Anyway must dash - I've got a really busy day - tell you about it later - but first, a bath, hair wash and a good slathering.

Have a good day everyone - onwards and upwards :D

    Hi all,

Dawning - I've tried things like Touche Eclat as well and do very little for me. Have tried various concealers but not a specifically peach-based one so might have to have a look at that - can I ask what brand you use? They are blue-toned and I know healthy eating does help a bit as they were quite a bit worse when I was eating more junk food but would love them to at least fade a little.

Hiya. The one I use is Bobbi Brown. You need to get the Corrector, not the concealer. I'm quite fair skinned and my shade is called Light to Medium Bisque. If you go to the BB counter they will try to sell you a concealer to wear over the top of the Corrector. Dont fall for that, unless you're happy spending more money, you can use any concealer over the top of it. I find that I don't need to. The pot lasts me about 6 months.
    This is it :

Now I've just noticed that on the website it says 'New' so the product must have been reformulated as I've been buying it for years. I can't speak for how good the new formula is as I haven't tried it. I hope they haven't changed it too much as I like it just the way it is.
It's important for you to go to the BB counter to get advice on the right shade though, these are definite peach tones and can be quite scary in the pot and you have to be matched up to the right colour.

    Hi everyone :hello:

Great thread :D I've joined in with a couple of weight loss threads in the past, but as I'm an all-or-nothing person, I tend to concentrate on weight and everything else gets forgotten. This seems to cover everything so thought I'd jump in.

I always use cream on my feet after every shower - morning and night.
I always use moisturiser after washing my hands.
I wash my hair every other day.

I must make more of an effort with fruit and veg. I used to eat loads, but lately I've been reaching for the junk food. It should be easy at the moment, we've got ripe berries in the garden and the veg is growing well.

I'm not too worried about clothes ATM. I've dropped a dress size (it's not as great as it sounds - I was a size 14, went up to 16 and have dropped back down to 14, so really I haven't got anywhere :D). I bought some cheap and cheerful items a couple of weeks ago, just to keep me going until I get down to a size 12. Then I'll buy some decent things.

Today I've sprayed the perfume (SJP's Lovely). I also decluttered a couple of drawers - even though I can't see the difference when I walk into the room, just knowing I've done it makes me feel better.

I will confess to tipping my head upside down and sticking my hair into a ponytail on top of my head :D Hope I don't look too chav-like, lol. In my defence, it's because I'm cleaning the chickens out this morning and scrapping off wallpaper this afternoon.

Thanks Dawning, will try and get to a BB counter - think there might be one in my local Debenhams. Little more expensive then normal for me, but if it lasts a while then suppose is not so bad.

Welcome Tru - sounds like you're organised already :) I'm the same with clothes, don't want to buy anything too nice until I lose some more weight - got a few charity shop bits last weekend but so need to buy some new work pants - am hitching all day and it's not a good look lol.

Did my shred again last night and not feeling too bad today - OH very helpfully said that must mean I'm not doing it right - thanks hun!! Am getting a little frazzled as I'm going away on Saturday - nothing major but having a few day back where I used to live catching up with family and friends and then a few days in London. I'm trying to pack light so wanted a nice quiet week so I could go through my stuff, organise outfits etc. I'm going to a group tonight, which I knew about but now they're meeting earlier, and now OH has arranged for us to go out with his gran tomorrow night and our friend who is watching the house and feeding the cat while we're away is now coming round Thursday night. That does not leave me much free time

hey all ...just a wee update on me

things i have kept up with ... cleansing toning moisturising and skin moisturising after a shower etc .... perfume wearing ... glove wearing when doing dishes ( ok not every time ... soup kitchen doesnt have cloves for eg) and thats about it

things i have stopped shred ... i enjoyed doing it but couldnt do it due to the bite on my hand so will get started back on day one as soon as that clears up

things i have coming up ... a makeup training day tomorrow ( wednesday) i have an appointment with M.A.C in glasgow .... they give you an hour and a half lesson for £50 which you then get to spend on products ... the aim is to have two looks a simple day time one that i can do in jig pokery time and a night time one that looks more glamorous ... i think that is going to have to do me for now ... i will address clothes etc when i purchase more ... although i will also in the mean time have a clear out ... i think that will help alot

thanks guys for all the interview well wishes. I think it went grand, but whether they're looking for someone with a stronger development background than I have remains to be seen. Hopefully I'll find out either way soon.

I'm on late shifts in work this week, 3:30-midnight so if gives me a little more time during the day for cleaning, tidying and beauty treatments which I appreciate. I'm pondering streaks in my hair but I think they'll look better if my hair is a touch darker so I'm going to be doing that this week (going dark) and will have to redo my nails as they've started chipping already.

I'm taking a lot more care with my skin these days to keep the rosacea under control, which I can see paying off and that's keeping me focused and determined to keep going. I think once you can see some results it really keeps you going, whereas if you don't you start to wonder what's the point and tail off.

Welcome tru. This thread seems to have attracted lots of like minded people. I can be an 'all or nothing' person too. I'm afraid I was very all or nothing with wine drinking for a while:o and that plus various other factors pushed my weight up from a 12 to a 16. When 16s started to feel tight I took myself in hand. I

First I cut out weekday drinking (except for special occasions like holidays). When I'd got used to that I joined SW and am now a 14 bordering on a 12.

Then LL came along and started this thread and I'm starting to sort out other bad habits and I feel so much better about myself!:j and it's great to meet some new, virtual friends.

I've managed through the summer with some cheapie bits, CS buys and some clothes I'd kept and can now get into again. I'm hoping to be a firm (literally;)) size 12 by the autumn and then I can buy a few more classic things that will be chosen because I really like them and they look good on me not because they're the best style/colour for covering up my fat!!

    Back later.

Well I've been keeping on top of routine maintenance. I have a list written down in a copy book and I tick it off as I go along. It's good at keeping me in track cause otherwise I'd forget something. Although I HAVE been forgetting perfume in the morning. Need to put it somewhere more noticable so I'll see it.

I've been keeping up with my exercise. I have a cross trainer, did 30 mins 4 times a week last week, this week I've upped it to 35 mins. I remember I used to be able to do an hour on it! Think that would kill me now!
