@ Tru Spreadsheets...Me too! have lots of spreadsheets- but quite satisfying to see the progress....though DH did balk when he saw my mega GI/GL spreadsheet..but it helps me work out what works for me and keeps my blood sugar in check so he doesn't take the mick quite so much anymoreIf you're afraid of the big bad Woolfe....beware of the Mrs!:rotfl:

kerry how do you find the cross trainer?
Hiya,
I really like my cross trainer but I'd give my right arm for a treadmill!! It's YEARS old (about 10 at least) and bits of it are literally held together with string but it's still going strong.
It is good exercise. I do 35 mins at the moment and count that as 200 calories.
One thing if you are considering one is to try it and the "arms". I don't know if my arms are really stort but I can't have the "arms" moving on mine as they pull me forward too much.0 -

LL, thanks for the 'facelift' face mask. I bought a big bag of gram flour so if it does not suit me I can make pakora's :rotfl::rotfl:
My skin tends towards dryness, I have not used soap on my face for about 35 years, yes! before some of you were born :rotfl::rotfl: just cleansing lotion and moisturiser at night and very cold water splash before moisturising in the morning, exfoliate and face mask about once a week. I like the idea of the OCM I will get around to it soon
I am impressed with all the exercise you folk are doing. Apart from walking I cannot seem to manage other ones.
I am like Bitsy Beans (welcome by the way:)) my middle area is where most of my lays. I did wonder if I could learn to use a hoola hoop again?
Mrs W, if it ain't broke..... your regime sounds like the circuits that I used to do, great for all over workout and cardio vascular.
Bratz, I find the Rimmel 60 second nail strengthen (clear) polish really good if I'm in a hurry. I tend to wear that most of the time but the colours are great also. How does the hair look ?
Maman, Jigsaw in small, I can dream of the day that will happen to me :T
Sorry, starting to fade, will catch up tomorrow.

Don't feel I've done much fabness today. I got as far as looking for gram flour but haven't bought any yet! I will try the oil cleansing. Do you do it every day?
I bought myself a dress today:o I'm supposed to be cutting back on spending but.... I had a meeting in a local town and found myself in TKMaxx. It's a Nicole Farhi, natural linen, sleeveless with embroidery around the hem. Not cheap but reduced. I've got so few summer dresses just a couple of 'dressy' silk ones so I think I'll get plenty of wear out of it. All I need now is some sun! It's been horrible here today: showery, windy, cold and now it's raining heavily.
Well done everyone else with all the efforts you're making. I'm ashamed listening to all the exercise that's going on. Generally walking is my thing but I've got very lazy. If it's fine tomorrow I'll try.0 -
Hi everyone
Just a quickie to say thank you so much for all your birthday wishes.
I've had a lovely relaxing day, went for a nice lunch in one of my favourite Italian restaurants then home for a nap, then a lazy time pottering, reading. DS2 recorded a DVD for me, and then lolled around watching the Apprentice.
And, I get to do it all again on Sunday.:D
Had some lovely presents. My sis bought me a lovely green wallet - very good Feng Shui apparently - green purses/wallets are supposed to bring wealth - so As Del Boy would say - this time next year...............
Speaking of Feng Shui - decluttered a couple of drawers - didn't mean too but was searching for something - still can't find it!!!
Maman Your Nicole Farhi dress sounds really fab - thats the good thing about reaching or getting near to your target - it makes it worthwhile to push the boat out a little and buy something really nice.
Anyway if you don't mind I won't post any skincare stuff tonight - determined to stick with the plan of earlier nights. After all I am older now.:rotfl:
G'night all x0 -
Ladies,
I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading this thread.
I too am in the position of feeling not so fabulous at the moment and slightly run down. I would love to join the thread as at 37 I am due to be a bridesmaid to my sister in law next April and would love to feel a whole lot better about myself before then.
Although I have already started well with the whole exercise thing and regularly run 3 miles, at present I have a recurring foot injury which has prohibited much progress of late. Despite being a size 12, at 5 ft 2 I could really do with losing a couple of stones to make me feel better and lose that muffin top.
Today I have already made progress in getting my hair coloured with red streaks, after getting a trendy bob last week, and also trimming my nails.
Like many people I have realised that I have been concentrating on working so many hours (I have 3 jobs) and this has resulted in me not
looking after myself as well as I should have.
Anyway I look forward to hearing all you stories. And hopefully getting some inspiration along my journey.0 -
Hi Christmas Crackers, sorry I've not been on much, I have been reading but I'm feeling really stressed and a bit down at the mo, so of course the first thing to get neglected is my appearance. I look a right mess - I;m one of those who can look quite presentable one day and then the very day I look like something the cat's dragged in. It goes from one extreme to the other. My eyebrows need tinting and my roots need doing, I do both myself, so I must get on with that tomorrow.
Got a very busy day today but I'm going to my yoga class later - I think it will do me good.
Feeling as if I want to spend money to 'treat' myself but that's a slipperly slope and my debts wont get paid off that way!
Hope everyone's ok.0 -
Hi
I'm back......
Actually holiday was good from the frump to fab point of view, hotel was right at the top of a steep hill- downside aching legs & getting out of puff, upside all the exercise and great views.
Got home at 3.30am to find DS waiting for us. Then grabbed about 4 hours kip - a bit tired but I slept on the plane.
Looked at perfume at the airport - I think it's almost as expensive as the high street these days . It's been great looking at what I've missed over the last week some new posters, some birthdays....
Do any of you others have health issues caused by weight - I have high BP and sleep apnoea, do these really improve when you lose weight? both my specialist & GP told me they would. Whilst I had untreated sleep apnoea I didn't have the energy when awake to exercise but now I'm under control with that I find exercising easier, before I was permenantly exhauseted . I know that this site is not for medical advice but if anyone out there snores really, really badly (especially if partner says it sounds like they are gasping for breath at times) and finds they are so tired even sitting down sends them to sleep (I've fallen asleep during conversations ) then get this checked - quality of life improves so much when this is under contol .
After a week of showers I'm looking forward to a nice warm bath to ease my aching limbs - oh I and I start the Zumba today - hear it's really hard (especially as I have 2 left feet & no sense of rhythm) alos back on diet - in Rhodes it was too hot to eat too much (although hubby seemed to manage to stuff his face) .
I saw a really bad example of fashion yesterrday - girl of about 16 or 17 was wearing harem pants - you know the ones with the dropped crotch, Ok naff but fashionable, these were denim & had pockets on the knee (crotch level) and ankle like cargo pants - they were so awful that even she looked stupid in them. (won't mention her false eyleashes).proud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0
