hello everyone
LL thanks for your help. I have just finished quickly reading the complete thread and have picked up lots of tipes and advice.
Have been to Zumba tonight, came home and had a bath using body scrub of course, after which I moisturised all over. I am now sat relaxing and feel great !!!
With regards to the weight thing I am trying to lose about a stone and ahalf after letting myself go ...yet again. I think it will be a long haul but I am determined to be a 'Christmas Cracker'.
Anyway thats me for tonight but just another thankyou to everyone for giving me the inspiration and support!0 -
Well done on the Zumba and the pampering jimmytwoshoes, it is good to hear you're relaxing.
Good news about the skirt mummy3. Trousers are great and easy but I find if I wear a skirt and especially heels, my posture is so much better. I just know I walk better. Trousers can easily encourage me to slop about. What's your maxi skirt like?
I've given myself a proper manicure tonight. Some of you will know I normally have a cheapie (£5) shape and polish at one of those nail bars but I thought I'd have a go myself. I'm partly trying to cut down on unnecessary expenditure to offset rising prices and keep the money for things I really want to spend on.
Been out to lunch today:great time with old friends which is something I don't begrudge paying for! Menu was yummy but not very diet friendly, rather too much butter, oil, mayo and cheese. Fortunately it's not every day and back on the SW plan tomorrow! I'm also going to a buffet 'do' on Friday but I'm planning to eat something filling first so I'm not too hungry. Hopefully there'll be some veggie bits to nibble on!
Someone was asking the other day about emotional/spiritual goals. I wouldn't say I have those and to a great extent I agree with LL that raising self esteem by pampering and fabness helps a lot. But I do get days when I feel I ought to be doing something worthwhile and educative, like making the best of my brain IYSWIM. Anyone else? (assuming you even understand my rambling?:o).0 -
Hi folks,
Just popped in to say welcome to Tru and MRO3.
Managed a facial a good body scrub and slathering.
Will cream my feet and elbows again before I get into bed.
Managed to drink 2+ litres of water, much easier to do when it is so hot!
My antihistamine are making me sleep so will say goodnight.

Hi everyone
Just been reading all your recent posts - it's lovely to hear so much positivity. I've always been one of life's eternal optimists and firmly believe that being positive get's good results. Being negative sets you up failure, positivity sets you on the road to success.
Yes we all have blips and dips - my advice - just draw line and start again the next day.
Maman - I'm sorry I'm useless I doing links but I know there is an oils cleansing thread on the H&B thread somewhere. To quickly recap they suggest a mix of oils using castor oil and then a veg or almond oil. It involved a bit of trial and error adjusting the proportions of castor/veg oil some thing like 40/60 or 30/70 if memory serves.
TBH I don't bother, I just use grape seed oil and I believe Bronnie (please don't mind me quoting you Bronnie uses almond oil). I found the castor oil didn't suit me. I've not got round to using muslin cloths, just an ordinary flannel. I like flannels they have a mild exfoliating effect.
Just pop the oil on, massage it in for a couple of minutes and then apply hot flannel (hand hot) to your face to remove excess oil.
Like most treatments - I think it's the massage action that does the trick so try not to skimp on your timing
BTW the Jigsaw top sounds good - especially as it's "small". Well done.
Welcome to Tru and Mummy3 - you among friends here.
Elan - the make up training day sounds fab - do let us know how it goes.
kerry - I'm interested in getting a cross trainer again (lent it to someone who broke it!!!!). Hopefully for next winter ................0 -
:bdaycake:
Just wanted to be the first to wish you a very Happy Birthday!! Thank you so much for the thread...another achievement for you take forward in the march towards fabness! And we're with you all the way!!!
Many congratulations!:A0 -
Thought I'd try and be a bit more organised and split the recipes etc away from the general chit chat so you clever computer literate ones can put them into your own files or whatever it is you do. Must get DS2 to give me some lessons.
Anyway before that here's a list of basic ingredients for your store cupboard and a few beauty basics that I find invaluable. They are all very cheap, some you'll have in your cupboard already.
I won't be recommending any specific products such as cleansers, moisturisers, make up etc because we are all so different and what works for one etc .........
Ingredients
Oatmeal
Gram Flour also known as chickpea flour
(most supermarkets - ethnic/world food aisles)
Veg Oil - I use grape seed, almond is good too
Bicarb
Runny honey - supermarket own brand is fine
Beauty Essentials
Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline is the trademark and is dearer
BP is the generic option)
E45 cream/lotion
Optional
I love Bio Oil, great for scar tissue, softens wrinkles (a little)
Not cheap but lasts for months
I have tried the cheaper look-i-likies but they made my skin itchy, plus they seemed to just lie on the surface of the skin not doing much
I will be posting some recipes involving essential oils if anyone wants to go there but will discuss them in more detail as and when
Anyway Carmen - I think this is the one you wanted .........0 -
Face Lift Face Mask
2 teasp gram flour (squash with back of spoon to de-lump)
2 teasp runny honey
tiny amount of warm water to mix
Apply to cleansed face and neck, leave for 10 mins and rinse off
Once a week only0 -
Thanks Maman
Not quite sure what's planned - depends on the weather really. DS2 and Little Sis will be here, may be a little lunch somewhere. We'll be having more of a celebration at the weekend when DS1 will be here to join in.
Have been really busy today, washing, blitzed the house and went to Asda to buy all the wine and stuff for Sunday. I'm having nothing to do with the food, BIL is taking care of all that. He's a great cook and can do a good spread so it'll all be lovely I know. I can relax and be queen for the day.
One of my neighbours bought me a beautiful bouquet of lilies and roses today. Gorgeous.
Anyway after a bit of a blip I've finally managed to get my a** in gear and started exercising again.
Exercise - 1km bike, 40 tummy crunches, few stretches
Treatment - mini manicure and nail paint
G'night all x0
