LL-skincare week sounds a great idea.

Jellie- am thinking of trying a peel myself , have also seen something called derma roller which sounds good for collagen production. has anyone used one/had it done at salon?

as some of you have said trouble with me is I start a good habit but after a while fall by the wayside. i think perhaps the trick is to introduce one thing and when doing that is habit start another good habit- at least thats what i'm trying to do at te moment.

    Hi all,

Dawning - I've tried things like Touche Eclat as well and do very little for me. Have tried various concealers but not a specifically peach-based one so might have to have a look at that - can I ask what brand you use? They are blue-toned and I know healthy eating does help a bit as they were quite a bit worse when I was eating more junk food but would love them to at least fade a little.

Jimmytwoshoes - welcome :wave:It's hard fitting it in sometimes isn't it? I work full time and by the time I've got home, made my tea, had a vague attempt at some housework I just feel ready to flop :o Little and often I'm finding is working better for me, with a bit more at weekends.

Bratz81 - good luck with the interview! Have my fingers crossed for you x

the-cat - am very impressed with your goals - think I might have to go and make my own list. It will have nowhere near as much exercise on it though - 16-20hrs of tennis I think would kill me :o

Am feeling firmly in frump territory today :( Slept very badly last night, not sure if it's the heat but was tossing and turning most of the night. Consequently look rather crappy and was too tired this morning to make much of an effort so grabbed a plain, baggyish black top and am feeling a bit blah all round. Keep telling myself I have a week off next week to get me through the day!

    Hi All!

Just a quickie, my eyes really can't take look at a PC for longer!

wedding was fabulous- absolutely beautiful weather and the clearing where the ceremony took place was really quite beautiful- lots of carvings and things hung in the trees - including an old chandelier- I managed to do the ceremony without fluffing it, or bursting into giggles- bride was pulling faces at me- and got thanked a lot but all of the family so know it went well- mostly I'm just pleased to have been able to have done something special for two people I think are pretty great :)

fab wise- well plenty of exercise to be had- putting up many marquess/tents/carting equipment- just the walk from the main site to the car park was pretty intense- I was wearing my tone-ups for most of the weekend and can really feel the difference- first time I've noticed it really.

however- three days of being in a field/round campfires/limited facilities- did what I could but I always notice after a few days camping my skin needs some attention- so will be giving it some TLC this week- timing in well with Skin-Care week!

Oh someone was asking which dress I went for, it wa this one:

    http://www.wallis.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33058&storeId=12557&productId=2442644&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=209222&parent_categoryId=209166&pageSize=20&refinements=category~[209230|209222]&noOfRefinements=1

which I think went well with the pagan/festival theme of the weekend, very confortable and felt lovely in it!

right - really must go now eyes "ouchy" will be back hopefully fitter tomorrow!

sorry, really seem to be zoning out having a read at the moment. Not this thread, just all of them I have subscribed too!
I have continued to make an effort with the way I dress, and make sure that my hair is brushed etc, but i have slipped up on the skincare over the weekend. I will have another go this evening when DGD is in bed.
I dont tend to wear much make up but the lipstick is now handy in my handbag should I need it when I go out. The rest I cart around to my BF's at the weekend, but hardly ever get to use, as we dont go anywhere. I have masses of things all to use up. Went on the No More buying Toiletries thread at christmas, and I managed to get as far as May without buying anything but Shampoo and conditioner, oh and toothepaste towards the latter as the twins nabbed my stash.
The one thing I do remember is the moisuriser as its beside the bed as well as in the bathroom, and even have one at BF's. Although I have to hide it now as the last lot of stuff, shampoo's and soaps left there were used by his adult kids that all still live at home. So was not very MSE for me in the end!
Even gave his daughter my last foundation as she had run out and was moaning. I happened to have the same make and shade that she used so instead of saying borrow mine. I said she could have it. I will have to stop being quite so generous!
I was complimented on my Dress again today. So thats a bonus. Helps the confidence levels massively.
I had to take the nail polish off yesterday morning as it was all chipped, and my nails are breaking. Too much gardening. The gloves have worn through.
I think I will need to dig into the ironing pile tonight and find something to wear for tomorrow. Trying to get all the dresses dragged out while the weather is clemant.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

    Hello everyone and welcome Jimmytwoshoes

WOW it's still so hot down here, ideal for eating al fresco. I think I might just make up a jug of Pimms, sit in the garden and wait for the sunset  :D

I have put away most of my warmer clothes today, I hope I have not jinks-ed the weather ;)

LL, skin care tips are a great idea :) You posted a face mask from gram flour, but I cannot find it :(

Pod, I also get dark circles under my eyes, and my bags are dreadful  so will be interested in any idea's.

Bratz, how did the interview, well I hope?

Maman, good to have you back  I have a huge pile of ironing but I cannot do it in this heat ;)

Elantan  just pop in when you can, keep up the good work.

Gosh Cat, it sounds as if you get plenty of exercise on the tennis court, well done.

Grateful, good luck with your SW, Dawning, I had the same problem with my tummy, however it is not as bad after my weight loss, you will also soon be able to reach your toe nails :)

Sorry if I have missed anyone out :o

Remember everyone, we will all have off days, unfortunately our road to fabulousness will not eliminate the carp that life sometimes throws at us. I usually eat :EasterBun during these times but these days I just see it as a blip and not failure.

I'm waffling again :o going to have my Pimms :p

    Hi Everyone

Just a quickie tonight - been really hot and sultry here today - did quite a bit of gardening and made some jam. Now that it's cooling down I'm going to give the bathroom a good blitz (can't believe the state it's in) and than tackle the dreaded ironing pile.

I've had a major task with the garden, decluttering and tidying up, apparently I'm having a "surprise" party next Sunday - Little Sis decided to 'fess up so I wouldn't be too shocked.

Anyway I shall not have to do anything on the day but really needed to get a grip with the garden. We are hoping to make it a garden party - all bunting and fairy lights etc. (All dependent on the weather of course).

I agree with those who find this heat a bit much, I'm actually finding in a bit debilitating - just sat down after dinner and fell asleep.

Anyway prior to getting into the Skin Care Week - first of all I want to say that I am now a real convert to the oil cleansing method. There is an excellent thread on here somewhere so if anyone is interested in giving it a whirl that explains how it works far better than I can.

As a matter of interest I don't faff about mixing oils, I just use grape seed oil and it works fine. My skin is really so much improved since I started this - wished I'd tried it years ago.

So just to get you in the mood ...............you do know all these this is just a reminder............

My six of the best skin care tips - and they're all free

    1. Get plenty of sleep - sleep time is when your skin rests and replenishes itself.
    2. Exercise - improved blood flow helps feed nutrients to the skin and helps remove waste matter
    3. Treat the sun with respect - avoid the hottest party of the day if you can, wear a good sunscreen, sunhat and sunglasses - squinting in strong sunlight gives you crows feet and can damage your eyes
    4. Stop smoking - the toxins in cigarettes cause horrendous wrinkle damage as well as destroying your lungs
    5. Do not go too low on a low fat diet, your skin needs oils to help it retain moisture. Good sources are oily fish, avocados and good old olive oil is perfect
    6. Plenty of water

Tomorrow well look at some treatments etc

G'night all, going to stick to my earlier to bed regime

LL, I thought you were having an early night!!!

I'm an ignoramus when it comes to skincare. I have heard of the oil method but have no idea how to go about it. Do tell!

Personally all I do is cleanse with a face wash (currently Body Shop but I've got no particular allegiance) and a face flannel. I haven't used soap on my face since I was a teenager as I hated the way it made my skin feel dry and taut. I'd like to know more about using muslin cloths as they sounded good. Can it be any old muslin?

Then I just slap on moisturiser. Again no allegiance. I used a Body Shop Aloe Vera one for years but it got discontinued. For a year or more I've been using a dirt cheap one from Aldi and I get on just fine with it. I use an eye cream. Sometimes Clinique but again using Body Shop (and no I haven't got shares:rotfl:). I did have a L'Oreal cream for the lip area but that seems to have been discontined too. I've now got one of those sort of rollerball things. It feels lovely and cool but can't say it's doing much.

Bought myself a 'new' top in CS today. It's Jigsaw and for £4, I'm delighted with it. It's a fine, thin t-shirt type material (a bit like Pima cotton) in a deep maroon sort of colour with a self stripe. Some stripes are almost see-through. It's got long sleeves and a deep v-neck. It'll be ideal under jackets or on cooler summer days. And the size is SMALL!!!

I wanted to comment on emotional/spirtual stuff but it's a bit late to think!! That can wait for another day.

    'night all.
