well i just received my order....uht milk, stamps, free souffles and chocolate. £20 deducted too.

i placed my order yesterday afternoon and added the coupons later without problems. so for those pondering and worrying about their order; don't edit it. just keep it as it is and you should get charged the correct amount.

    hth

I wasn't gonna put choccies on, but decided to risk it. Then someone posted the GU puddings code - but i decided not to add that one.

Chocolates were out of stock, and despite that ocado replaced them with another box of chocolates of equal value (the organic ones). Very surprised they didn't just remove them. So don't worry if you get substitutes - you still get them free.

Ocado would have been better honouring the vouchers, maybe with better t&c's. One of the wines that works out about £2 + delivery with the code is on offer in Tesco at £2.50 anyway. Surprised they didn't exclude smokes - as most of that is tax - not profit.

For those expecting a delivery soon - if you check in online on the day, and look at your order - it tells you what your getting.
  • Order arrived :D great bargain as nappies and wipes were already on offer so an extra £20 can't go wrong!!!
  • Mine has just arrived with no problems. Even a bit early considering my delivery slot was the cheapest ie. 10.30-11.30!

    Chuffed as I am exhausted.

Really sorry to all those who missed out x

Thanks. Is it at this point it also says how much you'll be charged or is this not until your delivery man arrives?

It tells you online the price you will be paying, so i knew i was not paying extra for the substitued item. It says items delivered, items not delivered and substitutions. This shows once the bags have been packed.

Just make sure you know the price in your head, or have a printed copy ready when the driver calls. Just ask him what the final is - and make sure it matches. They give you a printed receipt too, and you have another 24 hours to query anything you missed.

I will dare to say it.. I actually feel sorry for Ocado. They're first major offer goes to pot, down to a serious mistake on both sides and those idiots who abused the offer (99% of which probably dont even post on this forum). And theres a high chance they will NEVER do any decent voucher codes again after this. They made a mistake. Simples. Ive never shopped with them before down to their expense, but I think those who should be really annoyed (as many have pointed out on the Ocado FB Page) are existing customers who have been shopping with them for years and not recieved any similar discount.

If a man in the street gave you £20 and you later found out it was fake would you then spend a week trying to track him down and get another one? Im sorry if some of you dont agree, but after spending the evening reading some of the comments on this thread im quite saddened at how angry some of you are. Also feel terribly sorry for the poor customer service reps. on the other end of the telephone at Ocado, remember they just work there they dont own ocado :D

I don't post very often but I'm afraid I have to in this case.

The new wave of 'marketing', which uses a Groupon style approach, is that a company will offer a discount, in exchange for capturing your email address and an initial purchase (opportunity to provide you with their service) in order to repeat market to you in the future, with additional deals from which they generate revenue.

That is the proposition, full stop.

In this case, you gave your email, for future marketing activity, to both Crowdity and Ocado, in return for a killer offer - £20 for a £40 spend. That is the offer, plain and simple.

If 30k+ people have therefore given their emails on that basis, in the belief that this is in exchange for a £20 benefit, and subsequently don't receive the benefit, it must therefore be fraudulent misrepresentation.

If Crowdity or Ocado subsequently use your information for marketing, having not delivered the benefit, then surely we can all set up a phantom website offering £40 vouchers for nothing and then simply never deliver the promised product.

We can then reap the benefit of the future marketing opportunities at zero cost.

Well I just got my order but they missed off one of my 12 packs of cat food, so I'm not too please. Though they got the wine right - to add to my wine lake apparently, could people please quit judging those of us you have chosen not to have kids and can therefore spend some money on wine not nappies. It's judgemental and totally irrelevant. (wine I could only afford thanks to the 25% followed by the 50% off btw)

The delivery man noted it as a missing item - but that takes the order value to below the £40 - if they try to use that as an excuse not to honour the voucher I am going to be one very unhappy bunny. However I will wait and see on what happens, at least they got the wine right ;)

(Edit - I'm not knocking buying nappies or having kids btw)

There is such an incredible sense of entitlement on these forums it is unbelievable. I understand the disappointment. I understand those annoyed at people doing multiple orders, but many of those complaining have probably done other deals to death. They have probably taken full advantage of flaws in retailers computer systems -glitches. Such people should have the attitude - you win some, you lose some.

Ocado has a difficult future with Waitrose very soon being able to compete with it fully all over the UK. At the end of the day they would be foolish to honour all the voucher codes if that would put its future in jeopardy. I think it is more important to safeguard its employees jobs than give a discount of about £12 to thousands of customers, the majority of whom will not be ordering with them again, without a sweetner. The truth is, MSE's demographic is very different from Ocado's. It will take a long time to bring round customers who shop primarily on cost.

Crowdity should have been the experts on how to manage these internet offers. Many of us novices could see there was likely to be a problem meeting demand, so why did Crowdity not address this issue? I can't see what they brought to the table if they could not manage this promotion well, by advising about unique codes, limiting numbers etc. What could have been a great boost to their business could sink them.

Bums, I booked my delivery for Wednesday night, but I *just* cancelled my card because of the t-shirt fiasco... Is it a payment already authorised and therefore going to go through, or have I lost out?

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
