£20 off £40 Ocado

It seems that little has been learnt since the Hoover Free Flights fiasco of the early 90s - exactly the same situation. (I bought a Hoover tumble dryer but the flights never materialised, just as I missed out on this £20 off because I thought I'd leave the shopping til the weekend!)
I will never use or trust Ocado now; this whole thing stinks. If I want to do a Waitrose online shop, I'll just do it through 'Waitrose Deliver' who don't offer any gimmicks but have free delivery.
But I do regularly use Sainsbury's online and have always found them to be excellent. I always receive everything I've ordered - all really fresh with long sell-by dates, nothing missing and no substitutions. I used to use Tesco but they kept sending the wrong stuff, other people's orders and weird substitutions of totally unrelated items (balsamic vinegar, madam? No, but here - have a tin of chick peas instead......)
Oh and I've also unsubscribed myself from Crowdity. What a shower.0 -
More questions requiring answers --
1. What will Crowdify do to the information gathered from users who signed up in good faith for the voucher?
2. What will Ocado do to the thousands of new users they gathered from this 'promotion' who failed to get what they were told they were to get?
3. Who was the idiot who allowed a generic voucher to be sent out without any thought for the consequences? And have they learnt their lesson?
4. Will the ASA rule that this type of misleading promotion is out-of-order, and who will be sanctioned, if anyone?
5. Will the mainstream media pick up on this farce?
6. Is it right to be outraged over £20 or is this a matter of principle?0 -
I placed my order yesterday, getting delievered between 8.30 -9.30 tonight and the discount has been taken off mine and order saying that its getting delievered.0

Never used Ocado before but did expect better from them.
hi PM
Don't edit your order or cancel your order.... and they will still honour your order and give you the discount.... aslong as the order is already placed before today... and not edits have been done since yesterday .. your still get it:)0 -

It's not clear to me and others that have posted here whether the new voucher codes apply to new customers only that are yet to register - would you like to show exactly where it explicitly states it will be applied if you are already registered?
Firstly, I'd be reluctant to make an order with them after this palaver and secondly, I wouldn't want to waste my time making one to discover the 'new' offer doesn't apply.0 -
