I had no idea it was a generic code. Why would I? I got the MSE email and followed the steps to register for a code. It never occurred to me that everyone else was getting the same code! But that still doesn't excuse Crowdity and Ocado saying that the code was valid until 30 June when it clearly wasn't....0

It always suprises me how these company's do these offer's without really thinking it through, maybe they thought only 30,000 would take them up on this offer LOL !!! Ocado think before you act, then you will have happy customer's instead of one's that feel so let down.........!:wave:0

I feel crowdity are to blame too though - the red letter days and IWOOT free vouchers didn't have this problem as they sent you individual codes to redeem - so why did they not advise ocado to do this too???"You've got to cut your cloth to suit your wassname" Terry (my Dad), 1944-present0 -

I don't really think its fair that people think their order would have been more 'valid' because they are buying nappies/baby food and some of us have bought wine. It wasn't advertised as a 'only buy essentials' offer so thats irrelevant really IMO.
I did not abuse the system - I signed up for two coupons on Crowdity early on in the sign ups, one for me, one for mum. Sure I used the code leaked early, but still just for those two orders - I made sure to get in quick in case it was pulled/items were out of stock/etc... so its just one of those things - like the Orange £5 as someone else pointed out (which I missed out on but there you go!)Proud meowmy of four fuzzy cats0 -

Yes it is extraordinary how they don't seem to be able work these things out. Ocado are a long-established (in web-terms) outfit and ought to be able to predict what will happen.
If they had a pre-set limit that should have been stated - and they should have enforced it with a unique code for each sign-up. Not doing either of these things implies incompetance - either by the marketing and IT guys'n'gals or by someone more senior ignoring their advice.
As for how much it would cost them - 30,000 sign-ups for £20 off would cost nominally £600,000 gross - which might seem a lot but if we assume their mark-up is, say, 50%, then it's 'only' a net cost to them of £300,000 - which might, for all know, be a reasonable cost for 30,000 new customers... - basically a net £10 cost to them per potential new customer - which sounds reasonable (compare to national magazine and Tv etc advertising costs)
But as they messed up - and a lot of those who used the code were 'merely' taking advantage, with no real intention of remaining as customers, and many others, who might have become customers, forced out of the scheme by their ending it so soon, it looks more like £300,000 spent on a pr flop.0 -
Another problem for them is on Hukd releasing the code early and people not even having to go through crowdity to get it, I only got my code early as I went through the iPhone app, as my account did not show any code. Hopefully they will be able to sort something out for those that have missed it, hopefully mine will still go through as my delivery is not until Monday, I just hope they are honest and don't start making excuses as to why orders cannot be delivered.

Sorry if this is an obvious question to answer but...
I placed an order yesterday that came to under £25 including delivery and the crowdity voucher and I've chosen for it to be delivered next week.
Can anyone tell me whether I will be affected i.e. my order could now cost £45? (I read that it says edited orders may be affected but I haven't and shouldn't be changing it).
Thanks for the help!

I cant help feeling I have been data harvested by 2 sites only to not get the promissed deal. Now Ocado already have my membership info and preferences for nothing. Not more inpressed with crowdcity either. I havent violated my code and they havent honoured their part of the deal.0
