Me again about transferring files from 1 HDD to new computer...

            Right Kell - goto to say seem you have a 160GB+ disk there - if it is fine - not worth throwing away - please look at putting it in your new pc ...

            when i right click on (C: ) and go to explore, down the left hand side the 'y' isnt there anymore...

 Click on that drive to highlight it - what does it say in Device Properties below?             Check that the IDE connector is properly connected and fully pushed in with no pins showing. Notice that the IDE cable can only go in one way - there is a gap in the lower row of pins on the drive which matches with a raised ridge on the IDE cable. Make sure you haven't got it the wrong way round. Check for bent IDE pins on the drive.0
