Me again about transferring files from 1 HDD to new computer...

you tell us if any of the pins have any jumpers on them, then you tell us what disks the disk management bit can see

and does the new volume have the same size as the old disk just so you know it is the right one, if it's healthy it sounds like it's fomratted OK so surprising that it's not appearing in Explorer to just drag and drop0

if you right click the disk within the disk management function you should get an option to 'Explore' actually, does that work and show you the disk contents?0

My old computer was a 200gb, the one showing up in disc 1 says 279gb .... :S
The computer i have now is a 300gb....does that mean that is a second HDD for this or something..?
Going back to the computer management, the (c : ) has 272.50gb...0 -
I right clicked on the (D: ) and it came up with a single folder inside containing a word document...0

As for the Master/Slave thing, i have realised what you meant... its not that part i use tho...i use the longer connection to the side of it...is this the SATA or sumthing...? Its the one to the left ... its shown on the left in that picture too...0

On the left, the longer part...thats the connection im going in from....the HDD itself has a power lead, then using the longer port (as above) its connected to my new comp via a IDE SATA to USB Kit...0
