Let's hope they don't read this forum. They might put in a dodgy claim on their travel insurance for a cancelled trip.0 -

Quite simply I will never use my credit or debit card at a petrol station which is not linked to a supermarket to be on the safe side. I mostly try to pay at the pump anyway, and find Asda the most secure as they require you to type in your chip&pin number (whereas tesco don't). Quite frankly this is often the cheapest price petrol anyway.
I appreciate this is less useful for people who travel a lot or don't live near a supermarket. However, cover up the little handset when typing in your pin to avoid problems.
If I have to stop i will always pay cash (I always keep around £5 in the ash tray for such emergencies)
Some may think this a little anal but I have yet to be hit with any kind of cloned card or fraudulent transactions, and I call it positive prevention. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
i think if everyone shredded their bank statements and till receipts etc rather than putting them in the bin, they'd be a lot fewer fraudulant transactions!
(PS you can still recycle shredded paper:) ...)0 -

alsoif people covered up the keypad at the atm would help, and buy stuff from secure sites tooNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Well I haven't got a clue how the fraudsters got my card details. I used my Egg card once to buy a washing machine from Dixons. Next thing I know, there's about 5 different transactions that I didn't make. My pooter is like Fort Knox, I have every gizmo to keep it safe, so it looks like I was just mega unlucky.
Anyway, it did get sorted and I wasn't liable for anything.
Thank god I used a credit card and not my debit!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
Cover up PIN pads as much as you want (and this is good advice if your silly enough to use a PIN with your credit cards), but what chance have you got of keeping your PIN secret when PIN pads and ATMs are rigged?
It's becoming an industry harvesting card details and PINs.0 -
i found out that mp3 players are used for this sort of fraud.
looks like i will have to start withdrawing cash from inside the bank, and stop using it as much online.0 -

after a bit of googling, i found a few dodgy forums that share CC info and other illegal activities.
i am surprised that these forums are not shut down?
i read through a few threads there to see what these criminals are getting up to, and im trying to work out how to protect my CC card details if at all possible?0
