at least 5 times a week up until the age of 27?

Lucky you, that you have been able to get away with that for so long. Most of us aren't.

Just curious though, do you suffer from frequent colds? I was able to eat a tonne of carp, and not gain a lb for the first 20 years of my life, and bloodwork always came back fine. But I caught colds ever 4-6 weeks. As soon as I cut back and started eating more healthily, I stopped getting colds so often AND realised just how bad I was feeling before.

I didn't realise I felt so bad, until I started to feel better, as it had become 'normal' for me.

Really? How cool! I hope you have fun. :D

I'm based in Haarlem, which is (runs off to check the website) about half hour away by train (depending on where you in Den Haag you will be). But, I assume you are going for business reasons, and I am working in Amsterdam (only another 20 mins away) so I'm not sure if that would work out well for you.

I am heading to the English shop in Haarlem tomorrow anyway to get a few packets to enjoy from now until next pay day, as well as a few packets for a colleague's birthday (she loves them, but there are no English shops near her).

Thanks :) It's for pleasure. We're off to the Beach at Scheveningen for a party, just waiting for my lift to the airport! We'll be in Amsterdam for Take That in July - haven't booked the hotel yet for that though

I've never been to the Netherlands before and then twice within a month. Looking forward to it.

Must be a bit of a relief to have some home comforts over there. Crisp can't be that expensive to send in weight from here, though they might end up a bit flat!

It's not the Royal Beach Concert is it? I went to that last year and it was FANTASTIC! Tomorrow is meant to be quite warm, with only a 20% chance of rain, so I hope it stays dry for you!

The Netherlands is cool. I love it here :D But yeah, it's always nice to have some home comforts!

It's not the weight of the crisps that cost money, it's the size of the package they are usually sent in, thanks to Royal Mail's pricing system. I don't like my Mum, or OH"s Mum, spending so much money on something that we don't need.

I really fancy a penguin and some pom bears now!

TBH I'd keep any treats for home time where noone is going to pinch them or judge them.

What about a little pot of jelly for something interesting and sweet but harder to steal? Especially if your son keeps the spoon seperate? ;)

I have six children and a dp to make packed lunches for everyday it is such a task to find interesting, healthy stuff to go in the darn things.

Actually I seem to do very well on this front and don't seem to get many things despite using public transport and my better half working in a primary school and bringing all sorts of germs back.

With that when I do get anything I am very quick to recover so things like colds last 1.5 days at most.

As I say I don't eat healthly or unhealthy food as such, with that I do drink a lot of milk which is heavy in vitamin B which would explain a healthy immune system.

I've got a healthy immune system, it's not always good. It put me on crutches last year by eating bits of my spinal cord!

Oh, you're so lucky. I'm genuinely jealous!

I also love milk, so I always have at least one glass a day, but that never stopped me getting every virus going.

Even after cutting back on the junk, I still catch 3 or 4 a year (although much better than having one every month!). Have been taking multi vitamins as well over the last 4 months though, and I don't think I've had a cold in that time, even though OH has had several.

Transverse Myelitis apparently! Not great to be 8 months pregnant and walking like you're hammered at 9am. Got some evil looks I can tell you :rotfl:

It's been a long time since my children took a packed meal to school. In those days they kept it in their bag until lunch-time, and then tended to share with all the other kids who were sitting at the 'packed lunch' table.
Of course that was before the horrors of food allergies [eg. peanuts] became common, and there was a dinner lady keeping an eye on what the children swapped.

Times have changed since then, so in an idle moment I tried googling the obvious solution to the OP's problem - but I could not find a lockable lunch-box suitable for children, anywhere!

So unless I've missed something, it looks like there's a gap in the market, folks. Shall I get out my sketch pad and give Duncan Ballantyne a ring? ;)
