Sometimes some people seem to think if others are not doing it their way, then it has got to be wrong.

I never said I had a degree in this. :rotfl::rotfl:But, to me, sending a child off to school with a bag of fruit, crisps and a choc bar IS indicative of a problem with the diet. As others also noticed, and so we tried to obtain more information from you to ascertain if this was a one off, or a daily diet.

I don't need to be an expert in the field either. There is a wealth of knowledge available on the net, at the doctors etc. If you wish to fact check, you are perfectly entitled to.

Just because you don't see the problem, doesn't mean there isn't one. And again, you do NOT have to act on my posts, or anyone else's. Just as my friends do not have to act on any advice I might give them (which comes from a caring place by the way - we all bury our head in the sands about problems in our lives). But I feel, I have to say something, and offer advice for my own conscience, and I would want someone else to give me a bit of a kick up the arris when needs be (like when I was burying my head in the sand over my debt, or eating McDonalds almost every day ). I don't always like what they have to say, but they're usually right, and it usually results in me facing the issue head on.

how about son takes 2 lunchboxes? One with his lunch in, which can be hidden away and his regular one put in its regular place.

Only the regular one has something like this fitted:

Actually, that sounds pretty close to what you've been saying yourself for umpteen pages now! Your intransigence is mystifying to me.

We're talking about primary school children here not grown adults who can be expected to understand that helping yourself to other people's stuff is theft. Remove the source of the temptation and you've solved the problem. Save the treats for when the kidlets are at home. I don't understand why that should be so difficult.

Apart from the high calorie-content in bags of crisps, I really don't think they are suitable for small children to eat every day because of the high salt content.

If you honestly think that primary school aged children can't be expected to understand what constitutes theft then you are quite deluded!

Well that's 10 or more minutes of your life you're not going to get back lol. Was it worth it, all those quotes just to again be exceptionally childish and prove that you are indeed acting like a stuck up play ground brat.

    Get a grip :)

Regarding the theft, this sort of thing readily happens amongst adults as well. My mum was a teacher and she had to take in her own tea and milk - in the end she got so fed up of the other staff stealing her teabags and milk that she resorted to herbal teas and/or soya milk. The thefts stopped fairly promptly after that.

I also remember, when I was at school, getting really fed up of people borrowing my stuff (e.g. crayons, protractors, rulers etc) and either losing it or damaging it - just because I was the only one who could be bothered to properly equip myself for lessons. In the end I stopped lending out my stuff completely and got a reputation for being a miserly g*t.

I guess my point is that the world is full of toe-rags, and sometimes you have to make compromises to protect your stuff.

Personally, I don't want to resolve the matter in this way, I really want the culprit to be caught.

For me this would be doing a great disservice to the child that is stealing, allowing it to think that it can do it without any recourse. yes its not so bad at the moment its only a choc bar/ crisps, but we would be allowing it to think it is acceptanble as long as they are not caught
Baring in mind these children are 11/12 years old, and not too long until they can have a criminal record for stealing.

Even bigger than that is " you cant go through life thinking you can or must have everything you want /what others have. Life is not like that and better to learn at a young age.
Bit puzzled by this age mention as they will be at senior school by in the September after they turn 11 not primary school where age 11 is the older year sixer.

Surprising how much heat can be generated by a pile of lunch bags in a tub. Used to freeze juice & a frube for the summer term and they were ready to consume by lunchtime they defrosted so quickly.
