Nuts are a good option otherwise or a trail mix, but I think most schools ban them for allergy reasons.
Also many yogurts can be frozen and put into the lunchbox in the morning frozen, and will defrost by lunchtime on hot days, but not have gone rancid.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I feel totally ashamed as a parent
, as part of my job I go into schools and talk about healthy eating, yet shame of shame I have sent DD to school today a lunchbox which includes a butter sandwich, a packet of pom bears (eeeeeek!!!) and a fruit string. I know it will come home half eaten as she is more interested in chatting and playing at lunch than eating. However she did have a banana and good cereal for breakfast and is having a jacket pot with ham for her tea with some veg so I feel slightly less ashamed.:)
Hope you get this sorted out OP for the sake of your son, he must dread opening his lunch wondering what is missing, glad the school is dealing with it well for you. Could you not hide some emergency food for him in his shcool bag until its sorted, just is case?0 -

They do have BBQ Ham flavour (though can also be hard to find) and they're really tasty.
I'm off to Den Haag this afternoon. Is that near enough to bring you some S&V?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Really? How cool! I hope you have fun.
I'm based in Haarlem, which is (runs off to check the website) about half hour away by train (depending on where you in Den Haag you will be). But, I assume you are going for business reasons, and I am working in Amsterdam (only another 20 mins away) so I'm not sure if that would work out well for you.
I am heading to the English shop in Haarlem tomorrow anyway to get a few packets to enjoy from now until next pay day, as well as a few packets for a colleague's birthday (she loves them, but there are no English shops near her).February wins: Theatre tickets0
