Noooo! You clearly are NOT "into this". What right do you think you have to tell spirits to move. This is their home. It's like evicting a tenant who has a valid Fixed Term AST! That is quite rightly a criminal offence, well so should evicting/harassing ghosts.

After all, ghosts are people too.

    hahahha funny!
Inside this body lays one of a skinny woman
but I can usually shut her up with chocolate!

When I thank a post in a thread I've not posted in,
it means that I agree with that post and have nothing further to add.

I didn't believe in them until I (along with three family members) saw a chair start rocking in my parents' dining room! No obvious explanation. My niece, when she was about 3, also said 'who was that lady in black who followed you up the stairs, Nanny?' to my mum :o Their house was only built in the late '70s and they're the only ones who've lived there, so not the sort of place you'd think to be 'haunted'.

Saying that, all houses creak, and the pipes often expand or clank. Also, if there's water or damp in a wall and it gets really hot, it can let out an almighty crack (I know, my old house did after my wall was soaked following a long, slow leak from the tank above - my ceiling had collapsed).

    Good luck!

    Wooooooooooooooooooo (ghost noise lol)

Maybe the odd noises do have a simple explanation and perhaps you'll find out. Alternatively, perhaps they do have a more unearthly source. If the noises of themselves don't bother you and nothing else untoward happens, I'd let things be. If you are concerned, perhaps get in touch with your local Spiritualist Church and see if they have a Psychic who'd pop round and see if they sense anything. Your local Vicar, if you ask nicely, may come and bless the house for you - this often quietens down disturbances. There's another possibility that the noises are being made by a loved relative or friend who's passed and is trying to let you know that they're OK.

We live in an old, former farmworkers tied-cottage. Lots of families have live here over the last 200 years, some in the much older cottages previously on this site. The former owner wasn't here long but she did some much needed renovations - the previous owner was a retired farmworker who live here all his working life, and lived out his retirement here. He died here, at home, in his 80's. The previous owner said she'd often seen, out of the corner of her eye, a man coming up the path - who never gets to the door. I've also sensed a friendly male presence, usually when I'm gardening (he was a very keen gardener) and also when we did some building work last year. I suspect that, lets call him 'Trevor' though I do know his real name) occasionally has a quick look at his old home and has a natural curiosity to see what's been changed!

And they'll "sense" that you have more money than sense.

C'mon people - of course ghosts don't exist!

Would I mention it to a potential buyer, no chance. If you decide to stay I would look into getting somebody to come round to see if they can help i.e move what ever it is on.

I believe that there is a place between life and death, I`ve never seen anything and I never want to but I think spirits do exist trapped between the two places

People can choose what they want to believe.

However, a line in a John Denver song about the Boy from the Country (who said that the trees and animals talked to him) expressed to me another viewpoint which I suggest is akin to this topic.

"How do you know they don't just because they've never spoken to you?"

Personally, I believe that the more we human beings find out, the more we discover we don't know.

The best time to see a ghost is when you`re sitting on the toilet. :rotfl:

Definitley dont mention it to potential buyers but if for whatever reason your house didnt sell and the viewers were giving feedback like they got an odd feel then it may be worth getting rid of the spirits ( if that is what they are), I am not really into this but know many people who are and there are ways of telling the spirits to move.

It's amazing how any random subject generates people who are quite happy to abandon rationality.

I think the scratching noise may be a rat or mouse trapped in the cavity wall. Not sure about the tray noise though
