They're certainly the UK's biggest marketplace for counterfeit items.

Going to sleep now, I wonder when I wake up,,,,,,,,,, news flash Ebay in administration....... new fees have unexpectedly stopped Ebay from trading.

Really, how strange. Personally speaking until Autumn last year a great many of my sales came from a site other than ebay, if people do just want to sell on ebid though and ignore the money to be made on ebay, then that is up to them.

Isn't it strange soolin, that not only are you JUST a buyer, but you don't have any items for sale or a store on eBid.

eBid are better than eBay because of their low fees, friendly forums, human responses from support. No listings fee's whatsoever, 5 free stores, 5 free photos and a free eBid t-shirt when you sign up to eBids lifetime membership for a 1 off fee only. With eBid you also get a newsletter and real competitions with real prizes. Something you don't get on feebay/greedbay/conbay etc.

As far as I am concerned if feebay went bankrupt then 90% of the buyers and sellers would soon flock over to eBid.

still being negative about ebid soolin still no sales! ever crossed your mind it might be you who hindering your own sales, ive been on ebid for a few years and make regular sales im also a member here so i guess i must come under your stupid people idea, i find your remark offensive and no doubt other ebidders do too, sounds to me your bitter every post you make about ebid is negative, like you have a axe to grind for some reason under the user name soolin on ebid there are no shops,in fact if you did have shops on ebid that you attended too you would know they were called stores not shops, the only thing you say about yourself in regards to ebid that plays out truthfull is the user name soolin has been reg there 8 years,

scotch you only come on this forum ever to defend ebid, you have had nothing else to contribute here
if I had to say who is more likely to be biased, you or someone like soolin who has many thousand helpful posts under her belt....

(I've got nothing against ebid, I might give it a try one day, I don't buy there because of the lack of protection, so I'm fairly objective about it...)

Here we are again, every time we talk about ebid we see a number of posters with new accounts, posting only about ebid, to say how wonderful it is, and rubbishing anything else.
And now we even have personal attacks on someone who is one of the most helpful and well respected posters on this forum.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel unconfortable with so many (allegedely many, maybe not as many as it looks...) posters aggressively trying to identify someone's account?

I must say, as I said before, that threads like this continue to put me off using ebid, as I don't think it's just normal ebid users who would behave like that, in my opinion, there may be something more.

We never get anyone defending ebay, amazon, etsy, or any other similar site, so aggressively. Staff and owners are probably too busy with so many buyers/sellers, to come and post here :D

It really would help your argument if you read the thread before commenting. Are you suggesting therefore that there are so very few sellers on ebid that you have somehow found my personal details and double checked my name against every single seller in an hour....goodness, I didn't realise ebid was that small.

You can keep the T shirt thank you, I would rather sell things than have a free cheap T shirt. Comptitions as well, hey ho..I'm sure everyone is now really flocking to ebid because of that.

Whilst I am negative about ebid I do give my reasons. I make money on ebay I have lost money on ebid. However it seems to me that the posts supporting ebid actually do more harm than I could ever do, I think you do it a diservice to suggest it is good because you get competitions and if you pay a lifetime fee of £49.99 you cna have a free T shirt. Do you not see the damage you do with these sort of posts?

Seriously though, so few private sellers use a lot of BINS that I cannot see ebay losing a single penny over this. In fact if it gives even the slightest bit of reassurance to the business sellers they may actually gain by it.

If you fund your purchase with PayPal or a Visa debit/credit card you have exactly the same amount of protection you do on ebay or any other site

We don't have a board moderator defaming any other site so agressively either

this site is all about ordinary people talking about their experiences. any company feeling they have been defamed they can contact MSE who have often deleted posts that were deemed to be defamatory.
what is not on is for the company/employees/fans/users/whatever to launch a very personal counterattack on the person talking about their experiences.

This has happened a few times, and I always respond strongly to such behaviour from the companies coming here to defend themselves aggressively.
But I don't think anyone needs to say anything more for people reading this to be put off using ebid forever, you are doing a great job yourself.
