ARGH I HATE THEM I HATE THEM I HATE THEM!

They somehow managed to deliver the rowing machine I bought to someone called "Tatana Vasquez" that apparently lives in my house?!
    Like seriously, come on now.
The worst part is that I had to file a claim through PayPal due to the seller refusing to provide a refund for something that they were satisfied had been delivered.
    - I suspect that the poor seller is now out of pocket to the tune of several hundred pounds.

...and as for the rowing machine...?
Your guess is as good as mine!

  • These muppets were used by Amazon to send me my birthday presents. Oh dear. Checked on the status at Amazon, it showed delivery failed. So I spoke to a slightly bemused sounding lady at their customer services, who informed me the driver couldn't find my address. This is almost funny, I live right on one of the few main streets that run off from Newcastle under Lyme and the HDNL depot is about ten minutes away, if it's busy. I assume the driver couldn't be bothered to finish his rounds so just marked as unable to find.

As I got no reply to my email complaints to HDNL, I contact Amazon who seem to have taken the problem seriously. More interesting however is that one of my colleagues at work overheard my conversation and told me he worked as admin at the same depot. He informs me that their drivers (allegedly) will kick large packages they don't want to move enough so that they get returned as damaged rather than have to carry them to the door. They will (allegedly) just give you the missed delivery ticket's if it's raining rather than knocking and waiting for you.

    Awful experience so far.

It seems the level of service can drasticaly change depending on the area you live in maybe due to how they employ their delivery people, here it is mainly local people most of whom you know and they know who's door is open or who wants it leaving in the shed, so there are very few complaints, yet looking at the treatment some of you get, if I didn't know our local couriers I doubt I to would wish to use them. I think it is about time this company got it's act together and standardised it's service to the level of it's better areas.

however on the flipside here,i have never had a problem with them
deliveries are always prompt and often the day before they are due(according to Amazon)

Have to agree, as well as Amazon I have had John Lewis use them and never had a problem with them, track the order on their system and on the day due the guy that delivers to my area usually arrives around lunch time and is polite and friendly.

I've been tracking my package for the last few days. It's getting delivered to work and for the last two days it's been loaded on to the drivers van in the morning and then parcel is in the depot in the evening. Today doesn't bode well as there's been no change since last night and they have usually loaded it onto the van by now!

I ordered a high value item from Play.com which was dispatched on Monday - they don't volunteer a tracking number. I called them today and they gave me the HDNL tracking number which shows on their website that my order was delivered on Wednesday, which it wasn't. I called HDNL and they straight away said they often have problems with their scanners and parcels are often marked as delivered when they haven't !!!! My parcel will only be redelivered once the person I spoke to gets back onto the depot and asks them to redeliver, that is if they still have the parcel.

I suspect this has been pocketed by the driver !

Yep. You'll be lucky if you ever see it again, will probably have to go to Play for a refund.

HDNL yet again have failed to deliver an item I have purchased from Tesco Direct. Looking up my order on the HDNL website shows it reached their depot Sunday and that's as far as it got - it was meant to be delivered yesterday.

This isn't the first time I've had problems having items delivered by this company. They are, by far, the worst delivery service I have ever had the displeasure to deal with.

    Utter pants!

Tescos are sending me a replacement.... let's see if it turns up - I won't hold my breath!

I have some good news (although its all relative) for Amazon customers! Amazon parcels will soon be delivered by DHL's home-based couriers. They will still be 'non-signature' parcels, but hopefully the quality of deliveries will improve.
