Ok thanks a lot for your helpful advice.

What does your sig mean by the way, is that french? """""""""""Plus ca change, plus ca meme chose.""""""""""""
It means "It's all the same" or "It never changes".
"Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

  • That's the one! LOL
    Still confused
plus ca change =more that change
plus ca mem chose=more that same thing???????? Does'nt seem to make sense

It probably doesn't help that they have not typed it out properly, it should read:

"plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose"

    Which literally means:

"The more it changes, the more it’s the same thing"

    However, it's actual meaning is:

"The more things change, the more they stay the same"

    (The wonders of French)

It's basically a proverb meaning that history repeats itself!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I think the shoe buyer is completely in the wrong for trying to blackmail you, but ........ looking at the last 20 feedbacks you have left 4 have been negative.

Unless you have been really unlucky, this is very harsh and not really in the spirit of ebay. It seems slightly hypocritical to start a thread about being worried about negative feedback when for the last 20 transaction you have left 20% negative.

I cant see that the last four are negs.. I have had bad luck lately-people sending the wrong things then ignoring me when i ask for things to be set right is one example.

I did contact them before any didnt reply. So i waited before i left feedback. Infairness i should have left a neutral at worst .

I think sueing is a bit extreme- its my opinon after all and im stating fact. If they had contacted me before and not left it i wouldnt have cared really .They didnt care enought to reply when i emailed them.

Reply to what in this case? Did you try and get your money back because the packing was not to your liking and you don't like notes?

The fact you are also a seller, makes this all the more shocking.

As for the law bit - courts CAN order feedback be removed. With people being suspended from Ebay if their DSR's fall below 98% - every rating counts - and false, spiteful ratings like yours - can and do cause financial loss.

Why leave a negative for the gws felt tip guy? Cos he didn't add random unpromised unnecessary embellishments, the lack of which caused no damage during transit? Or because he added a completely justified little polite note that you bizarely took objection to? What does leaving a negative mean to you? 'I'm in a bit of a bad mood about all this, not sure why, here's a big fat red'. The neg messes up his business, loses him sales through loss of reputation, and heavily lowers his position in search standing. Little doubt a court would find that your neg was unwarranted and you would have to pay to cover his loss. Sellers far too slow to litigate, I have 100% pos and am top-rated but I break my back to be proactive and helpful and courteous to all buyers, even the 1percent who are just plain nasty or stupid or both.
Remember that when we talk of 'business' and 'business seller' here, we're probably talking about some middle-aged bloke holed up in his spare room all day with nothing but your abuse over a pack of non glitter-wrapped felt-tipped pens for company. Think of that the next time you choose to lash out. Or sell a lot, and then get on the unfair receiving end of it, see how it feels.
I know this seller, I've watched him for 2 years now, build an ultra-low margin business from nothing. Despite the acrimonious quagmire he has to wade through on occasion.
