  • Try using collect plus to send them, if they weight under 2Kg them you can send them for 3.99 with full tracking and proof of delivery, you just drop them off at a local shop. You can send to home addresses it doesn't have to be another shop. I find them pretty reliable for eBay sales!

But surely then they'll still be able to leave feedback and can justify giving you a neg?

Now he can neg you without parting with any money.

Personally, i think you deserve what you get. Nearly everything i buy off ebay these days as them notes in about stars and not leaving a negative without contacting them first. Its caused by Ebays damaging rating system putting everyone on edge.

To get a negative for including a polite note is scandalous. Leaving bad feedback without contacting the seller, is also against Ebays own policy.

You say packaging was poor. But they were just felt tips - and you have not even said they were damaged. They were £1.97 delivered - did you expect then to come in a box? The postage alone would have been more than what you paid in total for the items delivered.

That said, what the seller is doing is wrong too. He should have tried the proper procedure to get your feedback removed. Can't blame him for being angry though.

    I've seen your neg.
Neg 'Item was ok but they sent a note telling me I should leave a 5* thought it rude.'
He probably thinks you have trashed his Stars aswell as leaving a Neg with that wording.

Personally I think the wording and a neg from another seller has got his back up. Cant see much in previous left feedback to indicate he does this allot.
Seller 10,483 Feedback received - Revised Feedback: 28
Although I suppose he can only do it to people with the same buying and selling account.

You are correct the name of the buyer is the same as his business name but with an extra letter.

You can't rate people for 'packing' under DSRs, but for p&p charges. He doesn't sell you packing, he sells you the item. Did it arrive damaged? If not, the packing has nothing to do with you. It's not a packing talent contest tbh.
If I was this seller, and had no way of getting the neg removed, I would sue you through a small claims court, and I'd probably win, for a few hundred including costs. Your neg is pretty unjustified not to mention petty. He sends the product, as described, and on time, presumably arrives in decent shape. And you leave him a neg because the packing was a bit iffy....and he sent you a polite note? You need a reality check. You have damaged his business unfairly. I don't blame him for getting so angry, and your reaction is extreme. Not enough sellers sue buyers in these circumstances. Many act like spoilt four year olds who were given the wrong colour sweeties and start trashing mommy's car.
Forget the shoes, remove his neg, and pray that he doesn't know anything about the law. Shocking.

if he leaves a neg i think you have very strong grounds to appeal it using the email he sent.

    ebays a learning curve;)

and make sure you add both names to your blocked bidders list

With respect, I think you might wish to study law in a bit more detail before suggesting that the small claims court is an appropriate place to pursue a claim for anything other than direct and demonstrable financial loss.
Health Warning: I am happy to occasionally comment on building matters on the forum. However it is simply not possible to give comprehensive professional technical advice on an internet forum. Any comments made are therefore only of a general nature to point you in what is hopefully the right direction.

Ok thanks a lot for your helpful advice.

What does your sig mean by the way, is that french? """""""""""Plus ca change, plus ca meme chose.""""""""""""
  • I think the shoe buyer is completely in the wrong for trying to blackmail you, but ........ looking at the last 20 feedbacks you have left 4 have been negative.

Unless you have been really unlucky, this is very harsh and not really in the spirit of ebay. It seems slightly hypocritical to start a thread about being worried about negative feedback when for the last 20 transaction you have left 20% negative.
I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be
