Yes it does work. See my previous post #517.

Oh sorry, yes I'd seen that so realise it worked, but I meant with an older copy than something like the day before.

Say we kept a copy now (but oooops, didn't remember again), carried on logging in and did our transactions without any issues, then down the line it threw a wobbler and we found the cookie had disappeared for whatever reason - and then we pasted our old copy back in.

No, but it's worth including in a backup to have and try it if need be.
    Indeed, that's my strategy.

But presumably there may be some changes to the cookie every time you log in to the account, so if we were ever stuck and tried it I wonder what the implications (if any) would be of pasting back an "old" version?
I've no idea. TBH there really doesn't seem to be much in the cookie, and mine doesn't appear to have changed since I registered (and I've logged in quite a few times since then).

All I can say is that it had been well over a week since I had previously logged in (and taken a copy of the flash file)- 27th June to be exact.

I have a feeling the flash cookie doesn't change, although only time will tell.

    Hi there,

I dumped Tesco after the first three days when they said the problems were fixed and I found the new login system wouldn't recogise my computer.

I don't use a mobile so I had no choice but to close the account.

What I don't understand is why you are all still trying to make this lousy system work.

My worry is that IF this system is finally made to work then it will become more widely adopted and people who don't use a mobile phone or are computer 'newbies' will be locked out.

Bad service should not be encouraged and there are better interest rates out there. Why don't you leave ?

    Just sayin....

Has anyone tried accessing their account via Egg Money Manager or Account Unity?

It used to work with both for me, but daren't try at the moment after being locked out last week!

Im actually trying right now. I set up my new Egg account and can get on fine without using Egg Money Manager. But after setting the details up in Egg, it always says there's a problem trying to connect to Tesco Savings.

When you click on the 'error' it brings the window up saying 'an Add On couldnt run possibly due to security settings'. Which is odd as I can look at the website without using Egg MM!

    grrrrrr

I still can't get into my account. I emailed for a call back a week ago - time passed. On Tuesday I phoned and was promised a call back "but it won't be today" ......... time passed. I phoned up today ... all our advisors are busy .... I'll arrange a call back!

The system is far from up and running. For the first time today I managed to get past my new Unique ID login (a different computer) to receive a message that I need a new temporary PIN. To get a temporary PIN I have to phone .... and be promised a call back.

The words couldn't ... !!!! up ... and brewery spring to mind.

I see the online banking is down again.

I need to transfer £20K out to pay for a new car. They only let you do £10K a day, so I did £10K yesterday.. no problems.. arrived in my current account 5 mins later.
5pm today I logged in and transferred the other £10K. Everything seemed OK.. it's gone from my Tesco account, but as of now.. nearly 5 hours later.. not showed up in my current account. And now they've taken Online Banking down. :(
