I have loads of work on so will be working for some of it but being self emplopyed it's always good to have work in!!
Haven't been on much lately as have been having horrendous problmes with DD2 - long story short she was being subjected to a campaign of snidey comments, kids laughing at her, taking photos of her on their mobile phones and sending them round and stuff like that. It was relentless and she was really upset and that was the reason she wouldn't go into school. It took her slicing her arms open with a razor and a trip to the hospital for it all to come out though and the upshot is that she is going to a new school now. She seems to really like it - it is a small private school and they know all about what happened to her. The fees are an expense I hadn't bargained for but her Dad will pay half (or a bit more even) but I will have to be MUCH more disciplined with my food and other household spending from now on. It really has been a horrendous few weeks.
I have just put some potatoes in to bake for lunch, with tuna and salad - the potatoes were really getting to be past their best but they are okay (just)! I am doing a roast chicken with veg for tea - all of which I have in the fridge so no shopping for me today, except I need to go to Aldi for dog food. I will take the exact money though as otherwise I will be browsing and buying!!
Kittendothroar - chocolate plums? Where do you get them? I LOVE stuff like that!!
Florenceen - how are the house renovations going?
I have a big cupcake order for tomorrow as well - I will make them fresh in the morning though as I think they are much nicer that way - that will boost the coffers too!!
I also need to get out in the garden and start to try and tame it - it has been very neglected over the winter!
Hope you are all having a good weekend!
Re renovations - new windows + doors in. :j Also got the new boiler + radiators + piping. :j
On Wednesday - chap starts on the utility area - I bought the tiles yesterday - it was suggested that I just got the cheap white square tiles from Wic...However I got the cream Metro tiles from Home...
So from next week - 6 weeks of men here!

In to freezer - 2 tubs HM crumble.
Out of freezer - pizza + HM suet sausage pie.
We had some pie again this evening - no room in the freezers.
We had HM pie with roasted butternut squash + roasted - beetroot/red onions/pepper/tomatoes.
First time I haven't peeled the squash.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Those roasted veg look nice Florenceem! I somtimes don't peel the squash - I actually don't think it matters that much if you are roasting it, but if I am putting in stews I tend to peel it as it breaks down nicely and thickens the stew then.
I didn't make roast chicken for tea as I had planned as everyone was eating at different times, so I just cooked some chicken breasts and did a salad and coleslaw and rice salad and potato salad. It was actually quite nice!
No, Florenceem - I don't do cakes as my main job - I am an HR consultant for my main work but I do cupcakes and novelty cakes for friends. When DD1 was a baby I went to classes and learned about sugarcraft and I love doing it as I think it is relaxing. I don't make much money from it but what I dod make I save up until I have enough to buy something significant that I need. At the moment I think I will need to buy a fridge freezer soon as the one I have now keeps icing up inside the fridge - it is 14 years old though so not bad! My kitchen is a similar age and really needs looking at too - It wasn't an expensive one when I had it done but it hasn't lasted well. My Aunt left me a bit of money and when it comes through I am hoping there will be enough to get it sorted out - I am thinking of asking a joiner I know to actually build me the units out of wood - I reckon it would be cheaper and last longer.
Haven't been to the shops today so everything eaten was out of stocks!
Have a great evening!Jane

Sorry to hear about your dd jane, is this connected to how she was acting before, she was being bullied, its terrible glad she is much happier now, how old is she?
Flo a house full of men for 6 weeks? Whatever will you do lol, hope they are good looking and fit! Not the beer belly builders crack kind!
So bad news is, I've spent the last of my budget today, went over by 50p, good newish, ive decided to see how long what i have will last, went to Mr w when they were in the middle of 2nd reductions, I got 2 really thick pork loin slices 76p down from £4 I snatched it up quickly, the rest were reduced to £2.09 I also got the meat loaf i love which serves 3-4, a mini chicken roast for 2 and 2 pork leg steaks stuffed with spiced apple, never had them so we shall see, also got some cloudy lemonade total £5.70, so i have plenty in, my meat drawer is once again full, it was never empty to be fair, i am hoping not to spend any money grocery wise until at least 14th of the month, with the exception of eggs and butter which I rarely use, which I'm counting as entertainment, as I'm having my 7 year old god daughter to stay, so i have decided we will bake cookies and cupcakes, also need a cupcake mix 99p which will cost not much in comparison to taking her to the cinema, which would have cost £16 for both of us! Not including anything to eat or drink, so easily £25 could have been spent even if I smuggled my own food in, so you see my entertainment budget is still in tact, will also buy her a box of ice creams or ice lollies, 99p for a box of cornettos, or £1.25 for a box of fabs in Mr s half price at the moment, yes I'm being cheap, but i dont have money to waste at the moment and last time I took her, we went on the London duck tour which cost £35 for both of us, so she can do something creative and nice and cheap for once lol.
I did have some good news this week, my housing association have decided to decorate my home, or give me the money to decorate it, I already have paint for the hall and i am getting some b&q vouchers for some work gone wrong, my kitchen and bathroom are newly painted, so I'm taking the money, which is way more than it has cost me or will cost me, not too shabby.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Second workmen - plumbers - very young one - sweet but looked like a schoolboy. The older chap was forever crouching down - showing the builders bottom.
I haven't even met the workmen who are going to be here for 6 weeks.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

No food used yesterday, getting a bit behind with using my veg box but did manage to fit in cooking a couple of meals today, nothing from the freezer though.
Lunch - Home grown asparagus, fried egg and toast
Dinner - another wild garlic and portobello mushroom risotto - I could live on this! Only one more portion of wild garlic left though0 -
No freezer movements.
We had pizza + roasted sweet potato chunks - tossed in rape seed oil and mixed herbs + carrot, cauliflower, onion & swede for dinner. I was going to add some garlic but changed my mind.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
