I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

^ The only way to cut down is to ignore the offers totally, sure they will still be there in the future.
I'm on a roll today:
Used up:
Semolina and oats - in biscuits (think I prefer cakes..).
Breakfast - egg on toast, finished one hm loaf.
Lunch - mini jacket potatoes with cheese
Dinner - tofu stir fry, already prepped as I wanted to tidy the fridge
After prepping the stir fry I still had a few odd bits of veg remaining that I wanted to use before this Friday's delivery, so I decided to use them up in a pasta sauce and stick it in the freezer. Used up the passata carton from the cupboard, the last pack of home grown frozen borlotti beans, the last bit of home grown dried thyme from last year, some frozen home grown chilli, the remnants of a garlic bulb, half an onion, the last few flat beans, end of an aubergine. Is just cooling down then will freeze in portions for when I've not got energy to cook.
Placed veg box orders for this week - salad, veg, fruit and herbs. Added on cheeses, eggs, split peas and soya sausages. Roughly meal planned next week - want to move onto using up more of the dried wholefoods so will target the quinoa, bulgar wheat and couscous next week amongst other meals.0 -
Kirri! I see fake meat on that list lol.
I accidentally spent money in Mr w today, I did take the milk from the freezer for the chowder, but it curdled, so had to buy more, also a pack of reduced pak.choi slipped into my basket and a pack of apricot crossaints which I love but only ever buy if reduced, they were reduced so £1.82 spent, will use some of the pak choi in my veggie stir fry, I had the chowder, which was nice, 4 more portions left. I did freeze one of the crossaints.
Unsure of tomorrow's dinner as yet, it might be smoothie for breakfast, crab sandwiches for.lunch and sweetcorn chowder toppwd with green beans for dinner, that way I dont have to cook or get anything out the freezer, which sounds very appealing.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

My soysages?! SshBut I would say they don't *really* count as they are organic
http://www.abelandcole.co.uk/soysage-dragonfly-pack-of-4
I need to use up some cabbage in bubble and squeak cakes so these will go with it.. plus I fancied a sausage lol.
Also added red lentils to the order as found an old Waitrose lentil and cauli pilaff recipe.
WP - doing well there! My asparagus looks like it will be ready for picking after the weekend. Carrot, radish and rocket seedlings are up. Chives, mint and oregano ready for picking. Can't wait to start reducing my veg spends..0 -
evening all - it's freezing her tonight - really damp and cold!
Payday yesterday so have shopped and filled the freezer up - I went to Farmfoods and bought loads of frozen veg as it was all three big bags for £2 and I think it is really okay quality so that was good - I also got the frozen bramley apples in there too. mushrooms were BOGOF at a pound so I got some of them too - I find that they are fine for casseroles and even for doing with bacon and egg.
tonight I got a ys pack of fish pie mix out of the freezer and used some FF frozen leeks and mushrooms and made a lovely fish pie. I used a sachet of Colmans lemon butter sauce mix for the sauce and it was really nice tasting. the only thing is that it made a huge pie and there is load s left - that is my lunches for the next two days sorted!
DD1 is home for the holidays on Friday (just has to go back in for exams) and so that means that my food bill will double at least - I have NEVER seen anyone eat so much -
I have just made a batch of flapjacks as I am going to visit a friend tomorrow who is just home from hospital from having a new hip, so I will take some round with me - the rest I will use for DD2's packed lunches and I may just have one when they are cool for my supper!
I went to Home and Bargain the other day and I got some sachets of Kallo organic gravy mix for 10p each - they are the nicest tasting instant gravy I have had. I have only had the beef gravy ones but I got the chicken ones too - great value and worth a go if you are in there.
Hope you are all having a good evening.Jane

Morning all. Nice and bright day today. Hope it lasts the weekend as I fancy a trip to seaside.
Bathroom is finally done... yayyyyy. Just need to paper a bit of it, paint it and get some half decent furniture in. Might have to ask my sister to do the ceiling as I can't reach with my stepladders lol.
Anyway, as far as meals go, it'll be something out the freezer today, but not decided. Need to buy frozen veg, chips, coffee, tea and fresh fruit and veg tomorrow as running short.
RS - my sis gave me a packet of that gravy granules. Keeping it for when I go on my trip in the caravan lol. How is your dd2, is it? doing with her weight etc? There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
