Interesting article on living on a 'healthy' diet on £15 food a week - as much as I have no money at the moment, I just couldn't eat that, looks rather dull and stodgy to me, sure some of you could create a better list!

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22065978

The surprise ingredient in my veg box was salsify... 4 of them...

Just clicked through..I have a pair of the leggings the person is wearing in the picture, never in public though :rotfl:..

Anyway back to the feature..it sounds a very dull diet and I wouldn't like it at all! I probably do manage some weeks at £15 but when relying on careful planning and using up freezer and cupboard stuff.

Today I had almond raisin crunch cereal (from 99p store) with some prunes. Lunch was a seeded bagel (thawed - bought 4 for 50p recently and stashed away) with a some pate from a jar that my dad bought, with cucumber sticks, and sweet pickle (sainsburys basics 22p a jar! Very cheap lunch!

Tonight making Nigella's crustless pizza, with cheese I bought YS the other day, and the OH bringing sundried tomatoes to sprinkle in it and some rocket.

A few snacky bits here and then from cupboards, including a slightly stale custard cream as the tupperware lid has cracked...

    Overall a very cheap day!
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:

Ah yes Kirri can't wait for.our bumper crops in the summer.

I have a huge patch of ground needs digging when you're free lol

Thanks for heads up on Waitrose mag freebie, picked up the mag but will have to collect on another occasion, I should have taken my scissors with me... Wouldn't have noticed that if you hadn't said, quite a small coupon.

Lip_stick, sounds like a disaster zone week, hope you're ok but did have to laugh at the bench incident!

Spent £1.66 this morning in Waitrose in cash as had £6 of vouchers to use so nice cheap shop and a free newspaper :D

Had cholesterol result back and NOT happy 5.6  I didn't think I ate *that* badly.. see what they say when I go in for the discussion..

    Banana for breakfast.

Pizza for lunch from the base I made yesterday, was nice and quick with the roasted veg I'd left in the fridge. Pizza was made before I got the result :o

    Tofu/veg stir fry tonight.

I haven't worn leggings for 20+ years and I think they were better left in that era - I don't get the fashion for wearing them these days when they are so see through either, looks like they are out in their tights

I think these articles also forget that it's ok to live like that for maybe 1 week but who could do that for weeks, months on end, it must be quite tasteless too as doesn't allow for any spices, herbs, fresh things.

MNR - I have 12 metres x 1 metre of strawberries :D They need a lot of weeding though.. I don't drink it so was going to give them to my mum but the peach one I think it was looked nice, maybe I should try it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.
Got what I needed today and spend £3.26. I did get 2 free Coke Zero's from Morries and they are 2 for £1.50 (£1.19 each), so that reduced my spends by 88p.
That took April spends to £67.14 - very cheap month.

Lip_Stick - thanks for the laugh, but seriously hope you are ok and find that job you want.

I'm going to have a break from being too frugal for a while and wish you all well for the future. I will re-stock that empty freezer with cheap bargains when they crop up as that's where savings are made. I think I've saved well, well over £1000 over 16 months or so and need a break and get back to "normal" - well "normal" but still want the "whoopsies". lol
I will also get my M&S £10 meal deal one day!!
I'll keep an eye on you lot (:D) and maybe start again later in the year or next year.

Up early tomorrow for a 6am flight and looking forward to a break. Sandwiches made and cases packed. Probably off to bed at 9pm. lol

    Again, take care all.

I don't understand the see through ones either! I remember a few months back sitting waiting to get my eyebrows done and there was a woman outside wearing brown leggings and I could clearly see her pants! She had a short top on too. The mind boggles! :rotfl:

Yes I agree on their meal plan- definitely not a long term option... though there was some chap I went on a date with once who said he would happily eat a pill for breakfast lunch and dinner so it would probably suit him to a tee! Strange folk out there

It grew.. only really need half of that but planted up new beds and never removed the old.. I will need new recipes! Have a few things planted now, hoping to see my asparagus soon, was much earlier last year.

I will continue to be frugal. I went to look at flooring today - need to save the pennies.
