Afternoon all.
Spent a little bit yesterday which included 4 packs of Richmond sausages (55p - I like them) and half price meatballs 9£1.25 and look nice), all from the Co-op.
Bits in B&M also and days spends were £4.84
Spent £1.27 in Sainsbury's today on reduced items.
I'll tot up later, but tomorrow will be the last spends of the month (need ham and bread buns) and away on hols on Tuesday (very early!!).
Ended up having a beef and gravy sandwich and hubby had a reduced pasta meal and is having a chicken chow mein from today's reduced stuff.
Still a little beef left for a sandwich tomorrow and probably eating out tomorrow night.

Sounds good theatregirl - I like plans like that! Nice to have something to aim for too.
Despite not wanting to cook again today, after really enjoying the Nigel Slater split pea dahl recipe but having run out of split peas, I've just cooked a Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe for red lentil dahl for dinner tonight - finished up the red lentils too which were probably getting a bit old and will make 3-4 spare portions so will put them in the freezer for easy lunches this week. Getting through my spices quick now.
Recipe tonight was an onion fried in cumin seeds and in another pan the red lentils simmered in water, turmeric and salt, so very cheap
Despite eating 'cheaply' I've still spent £106 ish so far this month but £80 ish of that is veg, salad and fruit.0 -

I've had an excellent cheap month for April and that's probably enabled me to eventually clear that freezer.
Just totted up and last weeks spends were only £12.40.
Years spends so far (no more counting after tomorrow)
Jan - 58.38
Feb - 97.21
Mar - 100.74
Apr - 63.88 (so far)
Total - 320.21 (approx 18.84 per week)
I can't see myself spending more than £5 tomorrow, so average weekly spends will be around £19 per week.
Lost a lot of "stash" and I will be looking for bargains to re-stock in May. Pretty scary TBH and uncomfortable. lol
I need to check how this compares to last year, but quite happy.

Dare you to empty the other freezer before re-stockingJan - 58.38
Feb - 97.21

I follow a similar pattern! Just bit more spends
Jan - 93.03
Feb - 129.59
Mar - 194.41
Apr - 106.56
Total - 523.59 (approx 30.80 per week - 17 ? weeks)
Which sort of sounds high.. but 288.16 was fruit and veg so 16.95 a week and 235.43 was on food so 13.84 a week. Given the 3 furries munch a lot of the veg with me and this is all organic plus I have no 'meals' apart from mostly home grown stuff in the freezer, I think I didn't do too bad! I couldn't really cut it down much unless I ate my way through the cupboards with no fresh food but that would be far too dull. Should be lower spends over the summer.0 -
Ah yes Kirri can't wait for.our bumper crops in the summer.
Took out 6 chipolatas from freezer along with 5 chicken legs and 2 sandwich thins, i had sausage sandwiches using 3 chipolatas and had 2 drumsticks with spinach, green beans and petit pois for dinner, also had a Smoothie for breakfast.
Put 3 cooked chipolatas In fridge, along with 3 cooked drumsticks for tomorrow, need to make a new Smoothie too.
Spent 72p on 2 bags of blueberry mix, from Mr s reduced from 1.19 a bag, will be good for snacking on.
I want to make some kind of stew In the slow cooker this week, never made one, so need look up a receipe, im hoping not to buy much veg this week but I only have 4 beets, half pack of green beans, petit pois and mixed veg In freezer, I'm not doing well with my £25 budget, spent £15 already, so im hoping I can stretch it another 2 weeks, will only take a few pounds out if at all and no card, could do with some frozen sweetcorn to make a chowder, Mr w have it price matched with Mr s, plus a further 10% off using my Waitrose card, so may get that.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Morning all.
Last week was a bit up and down. Messed up the interview, which I expected I would tbh. I'd hardly slept and felt rough as heck from that damn bug. Oh well. Wednesday the bathroom started getting done, so ended up going to mam's during the day for the rest of the week. It's almost done now, just the shower screen to go up and sealing to do. Need to buy new units and decor for it, and paint it... groan.
Stupidly on Saturday night I was inside a pub, sat at a table on a bench. When leaving I shuffled up the bench, but kept going, despite the bench ending. Ended up falling backwards and smacking my head against a brick wall. Yes, I was a tad drunk.I can remember moaning at that being a stupid place to end a bench lol. Not a great way to end the week!
Bonus is, hardly spent anything last week, which is good because I didn't have much money lol. Think my nieces are coming over for tea today so will be chicken escalopes, pots and beans if they do. Bought a few whoopsied things from Asda this morn so spent £4.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Lipstick sounds like a bit of a bad week, hope this one is better.
I've made a spinach, mango, clementine, Apple, pineapple and ginger Smoothie and had that for breakfast, took out 2 sandwich thins from the freezer, will be having that withe leftover chipolatas in a minute, forgot that I'm having a late dinner at big easy, its called the big pig gig £15 for a bbq all you can eat, chicken and ribs, slaw and beans and a beer, so won't be having any snacks until I eat dinner.
I have 3 drumsticks for tomorrow, I really fancy a veg stir fry some time this week.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
