I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

In all I've lost 6 inches off chest and 12 inches off waist since 2010 without counting a calorie, so I'm feeling chuffed today.
I'd probably panic if I lost 6" off my bust! I'd end up concave  But that is a lot to lose, hope you are being MSE and ebaying all your old clothes!**** fingers crossed NO horses get killed in the "National" today!!
Two already died at the meeting so far, one Thursday collapsed/died and one yesterday killed due to injury. Can't bear the whole thingsure to be more will die today.

Expensive year so far, not added it up in total but estimate £350-£400 so far, but cheap week this week, managed to keep it to around £20 albeit I have little food in as I only really got salad items this week.
Used up more of the baking cupboard stuff yesterday - made a Mrs Simkins carrot cake, recipe on the Clipper Tea website, best recipe I've ever found for a carrot cake.
Have kept plugging away at the home grown bean stash in the freezer - getting the odd space in there now but still slow going. Still not bought any fake meat this yearTook out what I thought was 2 bean burgers last night and one turned out to be 2 small slices of bread the same size as a burger package, bit annoying as then had to eat that as well as I'd left it on the side to defrost.
Hoping to get on the allotment this weekend at last, still too cold really to get going but can start preparing. Looks like another grim growing year with the delayed start.0 -
Nope not concave
Haven't eBay'd clothes no, never eBay. The clothes have gone to charity shops unless intrsting fabric in which case went to my mother for patchwork.
I'll be listening to the National live and will watch later.
Will tell my mother about the Clipper carrot cake recipe thanks !
Well hopefully later you'll get some allotment produce going and save money0 -

I've passed on your 'seal of approval' to Mrs S, I'm sure she will be pleased to hear it:)'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Finally had empty enough freezer to defrost completely. Didn't risk re-freezing clams so had for lunch and the whole chicken is for lunch tomorrow.
Everything else (mostly butter and cheese) will go back in. OH is going to have a go at making stock later with lamb bones as we have enough containers now (Lidl) to use more in freezer.
Will do shop in Sainsbos tomorrow possibly and going to trek to Canterbury next week. Historic cathedral city, haven't been there in quite a while, maybe a year..got a wholefoods shop, plus a Habitat I think, huge Morries, Aldi I think, Waitrose, Lakeland, big ASDA, lots of interesting little shops, cafes, bars. Fenwicks and Debenhams as well as big M&S with food hall and cafe and a big BhS with cafe.0 -
I realise in my house I don't have many sweet items, so if I get time this week I may make some scones or something. I have the ingredients in to make them, so no extra cost, well unless the raisins have gone off/dried up/taste horrible, which they probably have!
Because it's such a nice day I might treat myself to a glass of Pimms - left over from last year and I have some tesco lemonade that I bought a while back. It's either that or one of my 15 bottles of red wine... this is my downfall lol0 -

Was an ideal day too! Soil still cold and wet though here even in London.. I've just done 5 hours weeding and digging and am bloody knackered now! Am just sat here too tired to even cook dinner now.
Edwardia, I also wanted to go to Canterbury, can't remember what I'd seen online that was there though, must have been some interesting org or farm shop or something? I'll make the effort one day, along with Faversham.
Here's the cake I did yesterday, rather a lot of buttercream I thought but I did follow the recipe.. It will now stop me buying the Respect one!

Spent £2.45 at Aldi yesterday on Super 6 veg (carrots, leeks, parsnips) with a number of recipes planned to use them. The first of which was Roast Carrot Soup with Cashews & Chilli, from the Abel & Cole website
http://www.abelandcole.co.uk/recipes...ews-and-chilli
which I've just finished making a batch of; works out at about 90p cost in total if using the Super 6 carrots, and I used Mr A value cashews too; website says for 2 people but I reckon it's more like 4-6 portions, so about 20p/portion:).'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

JB, that soup looks good, does it taste as nice as it looks?
The potato bread from their recipes is really good too.
Also the carrot salad was surprisingly tasty.0 -
Edwardia there is a wonderful indoor market near the train station in Canterbury. Do go. You can buy food there and eat it. All good local farm stuff.
Do try. A wonderful place.
