Morning all.
Lynsey that gravy granules are really good, I bought some a while back but none left in my stores now so if you can get more buy them.
Mnr, forgot it was the grand national this weekend so will have a look at the horses when I get a paper and decide which one I will be picking. I never have any luck OH won one year. I let the kids pick one aswell and one year my dd refused to run, she wasn't happy.
Food today scrambled egg on toast, lunch not sure and dinner is chicken curry.
Catch up later.0 -
Morning all, on fourth day in a row of total NSD and feeling virtuous
Hope my tanning lotion might turn up as bought on sale last week and I've never self-tanned before
Yup def looking forward to new bed .. Welsh Poppy we were just buying a mattress, OH was about to order, I told him to measure base and he found ours an odd size and 10cm shorter. Good job he did measure eh ?
Lynsey thanks for headsup on gravy granules. Don't have a Home Bargains here but discovered a b&m 20 mins away by bus so need to explore thatOnce I had washed off the dust and removed the sticky labels Oxfam had added the Murano bowl looks fab. They are so expensive normally that OH would have kittens if I'd bought a new one.
Lip_Stick the dinner looks fantastic and very artistic :T
No freezer movements so far but will be getting whole chicken out for Sunday. OH will take leftovers to work Monday and I will make stock or soup with carcass.
Some time ago I ordered a tshirt which when it came didn't fit despite being correct size but now it does and I found I lost another two inches off my waistThe trousers OH bought me in ASDA last month are now too big ! In all I've lost 6 inches off chest and 12 inches off waist since 2010 without counting a calorie, so I'm feeling chuffed today.

evening all
chicken dinner tonight was lovely
did a little top up shop again in Tesco's, had to go there to get some meds over the pharmacy counter anyway so killed 2 birds with one stone so to speak.
got some more y/s black pudding for DM (only 35p), some more scotch pancakes y/s down to 65p, and a large mexican wrap thing y/s to £1.99, will do nicely for dinner one night and can use up the l/o jalepeno peppers in jar and some of the sour cream thats taking up room in the fridge.
out of freezer: bacon for general defrosting :rotfl:, also a frozen burger taken out (for me), and lamb chop (for DM) to have tomorrow night, salad for both of us and I'll have a slice of ww garlic bread.0 -
Emptied chest freezer in garage to move it so took out:
2 x mince
1 x quorn mince
(for meals next week to be cooked tomorrow as am on course next week homework)
Last milk
Breaded garlic mushrooms (starter tonight)
Lamb steaks (main course tonight)
Last of bag of peas
Out of larder:
Bag of new potatoes for sautees
Saw bottom of freezer (briefly) whilst moving it! Then filled it again...0 -
Mnr it's the value ones well worth it. The pineapple pieces were in big tins, mandarins in the smaller tins. I would stock up as the dates were until the end of next year. The tins had value instead of everyday essentials. There was loads left. Hope you get plenty, and enjoy your smoothies.0

I've started to eat from the cupboards again. Trying to budget my food shop to £50 this month (just me). So halving it at least.
I did have to shop today for fresh stuff.
I made a batch of chilli 2 days ago, got 3 portions in the freezer, will have it with either rice or with home made wedges and cheese.
I have a stash of chopped tomatoes in the cupboard to use - about 8 tins left from about 15 I had at one point. I also have the staples of rice, pasta, potatoes, chicken breasts, mince, cheese.etc0 -
Morning all, nice and bright here.
Yesterday never went as planned, so need to sort a few things out later.
Spent just £1.20 on 4 pints of milk (£1), pack of 8 bananas (10p) and a pack of 3 passion fruits (10p). Bananas are on the way out and need using quickly.
Popping to a few shops later and see what I find. Asda have pineapples on for 50p.
Fish fingers for myself and salmon en croute for hubby.
Took out diced steak for tomorrow.
Sharon87 - I'd love your chicken breasts and mince. Good luck with your budget.
just trying - thanks, I'll have a look at those tins for the foodbank. Missed the foodbank this week as seemed to be closed on Thursday - try again next week. I've got what they need also!!
katep23 - well done on emptying the chest freezer. I re-organised stuff yesterday as I had partly empty shelves in both freezers. Not much in the garage freezer now and desperate to turn that off before holidays (3 weeks on Tuesday). I'm hoping to get everything in the one freezer before I go and start with a fresh empty freezer when I get back.
**** fingers crossed NO horses get killed in the "National" today!!
Looks like this week could be low on spends as will next week ..................... unless today spoils this week.
