    Afternoon all,

Bought a few whoopsies on Saturday evening just before waitrose shut and a few bits today too, but did't go too mad. Some room now emerging in the freezer at last.
Meal planned through until our hols next week, mostly going to be using stuff up towards the end of the week.

I didn't realise either! kept thinking it was some regional dish I'd never heard of lol. Then again I didn't spot the sausage or I might have realised - mine are usually the size of a lasagne dish!

Clearout here today pending building work.. lots of paper stuff into recycling. Foodwise, two more bean burgers out the freezer.

March spends were downright scary, I can't even bear to type it.
April will be reduced, as I won't be able to use the kitchen properly for a week that will curtail me.. not sure what I'll eat though.

    In to freezer - nothing.
Out of freezer - 2 HM muffins.
Had a quick meal from the freezer - something Mr F got when I was away. I am not a fan of sweet and sour but I ate it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

That "whoopsy" silverside from Sainsbury's was nice and still enough to put back in the freezer for another day. Some more of those joints please.

Not a NSD, but Morries have some 50p fruit and veg offers on again, so bought a pack of 4 oranges. Also bought a couple of bananas for 33p and a pack of bacon for £1 (another offer) and looks nice and lean - just £183 spent.
I'm scared to face March spends, but will definitely tot up tomorrow. Hoping it's not too bad. I want to have steady £25 average weeks for April and then I can start spending again.

Took out what looks like a bag of chicken pieces for hubby tomorrow, maybe a stir fry and curry there. I'll have a garlic prawn stir fry I think.
A pork casserole and a meatball pasta bake will clear a little space. Some lamb steaks need using also.

Mr F just ventured into the depths of the chest freezer - he was asked to look for some chicken portions. :) Mr F found some pie bacon - so well frozen - I will leave it to defrost in the fridge until Wednesday! Oh well I love egg & bacon pie + it will use up 4 eggs and a tomato. :D My recipe makes 6 servings - yummy.

  • Oooo Florenceem that sounds yummy!!! Wednesday you say?... let me know what time I should be round for tea!! :rotfl:

We are doing okay on the challenge and having meal planned till end of April I am capping the spends at £431 for the quarter which isn't too bad considering!!

30 meals still to make out of what we have in but is doable as we have a huge bag of mince in the freezer, loads of veg to use up , tinned tomatoes, beans, sweetcorn, enough pasta and rice to last into next year!

Also have stuff for curry for at least 2 nights and sausage casserole for one to 2 nights.

May be making do with some "on toast" meals towards the end of the month, plus pasta bakes of several varieties but all fairly healthy so wont do any harm!

Quite proud to have only gone a little over budget as wasn't looking likely for a while - goal for next quarter much better planning and less waste as there have definitely been times I haven't quite planned it right and things have gone to waste- probably less than £15 worth of food but way too much I know!!

Off to scavange for brekkie , sandwiches for lunch then chorizo pasta bake for tea! :)
