    I've been Money Tipped!
kirri, yes a diet change will help, but I think the blood pressure difference was massive. So quite a bit of junk out and he likes fruit. I think the dairy stuff was the main issue. I'll have to allow a bigger budget ......................... or he'll have to get a "paper round". lol
The first result was expected to be higher and the initial Nurse even advised he may have to have another cholesterol check because of milk in cereal/drinks that morning. So fasting makes sense 10-12 hours before giving a sample.
I'm not too sure if genetically high cholesterol levels would vary as much or whether they can even dismiss it now?? What I'm sure of though is to NOT take medication on a single test!!
He forgot to ask if he needs to go for further visits to get checked or whether they class everything as OK. He was just pleased it was under his target of 6.5. He'll ask next week.

I'm thinking of a NSD and missing Lidl out - shame as I wanted to try the white chocolate. Only Sainsbury's can spoil that later when I put the lottery on!!

    Lipstick - yep, summer-time!!

    Don't forget the clocks. :D

Just £4.50 on fish and chips yesterday, but Nestle stuff added another £11.79 the other day - still, cheap coffee added.

I wonder how widespread it is that drs actually get people to try this and yes bp result fantastic too, so many would just continue their lifestyle and take the pills and I don't know if drs are changing more but years back they just put people on them regardless. It's surprising from those results how quick it is to be able to turn it around too. Lol at the paper round! I am finding the fruit and veg box deliveries really good for making me eat extra but my bills have increased somewhat  Last time I had a test I wasn't allowed to eat/drink/smoke after 9pm ish iirc.

Been sat here this pm munching on some biscuits, I should start on the fruit lol.

Was going to have an onion tart tonight too! with salad though..

Just returned from Morries, was going to be good and only purchase what was needed but they were reducing lots of fresh fish so couldn't resist the bargains, down to 19p and 35p, smoked cod, smoked haddock, prawns and salmon. Turkey leg out of freezer for tomorrow and lots of fish in.

Hi everyone, Happy Easter ! :EasterBun

Ms_Night_Ryder well done on the turkey :T OH likes that Sainsbos organic shortbread too.

Lip_Stick I agree it's BST tomorrow and yet frost down to -1C tonight and day time temp not higher than 4C tomorrow :( Not so much Global Warming as Global Chilling !

Lynsey well done to DH especially on blood pressure too :T My mother is a terror she stuffs cream etc until it's a few weeks away from cholesterol test and then cuts it all right out and gets a lower figure

Florenceem - that salmon quiche looked lovely

Pamsy - well done on the bargains :T

Hi and hope you're all well.. I must confess I've been doing a lot of online shopping lately. Today was Ocado, yesterday Riverford and Monday Abel & Cole as my mother is coming over Monday. I did manage to save 18.18 on offers with Ocado today.

My big bargains this week.. a Murano glass black and gold hand-blown glass dish from Venice reduced from 99.99 to 49.99 then to 29.99 at Oxfam and saving over £500 on a Sealy double divan at Sainsbury's yesterday with 60% off, free delivery and 778 nectar points :) Could be my best ever bargain !

Kirri how are the piggies ?? Do you do Garibaldi biscuits too ?

Cleared out the china cupboard..well actually one of two. I bought an octagonal white dinner service which I fell in love with when at school much to my mother's amusement. Cost 25.99 for 44pc set in an Argos sale. Last year I was in a secondhand shop and got a whole Welsh dresser display's worth of same stuff for £10 ;) So one cupboard is crammed with white.

The other one is full of mismatching stuff I bought from boot fairs, jumble sales just cos I like it (lots of Mediterranean style with fruit, grapes, olives) and we use that for everyday and in the garden. I just have too much now so had a big clear out of the double base unit. Think I'll be doing a boot fair with my mother this summer ;)

^ My gpigs are like old people, with their various ailments and meds.. I have charts now to know what to do when.. one is recovering from a foot problem so been on meds for that, another is now on arthritis tablets for life - don't like taking meds myself let alone them but after seeing the xray and the condition of her joints it seems the best option.

Good bed bargain! ^ though surprised you didn't go for organic? (I have my eye on a Warren Evans one if I ever have enough cash to replace my cheapie Ikea bed..)

I had the last hm onion tart out the freezer tonight with a huge pile of salad and some sourdough bread. The onion tart is a Delia recipe and for anyone with a backlog of onions it uses up 700g in one go, cooked slowly for ages till they are quite sweet - made a family sized tart and had spare for 3 mini portions which I'd put in the freezer. Am not a massive fan of pastry but this recipe is quite good. I made the rest of the filling with eggs and ricotta as I had some to use up. I had bought org soya cream to use but that has a long date on it so saved that.

Fried egg, garlic mushrooms and sourdough for lunch. Missed breakfast as had to go out and it took longer than expected..

    In freezer - nothing.
    Out of freezer nothing.
Having a really good week - spending wise - just £1 on milk! :jWe have so much stock in - need to run it down before the house renovations. I have no butter in - so can't bake. :(
We had bits from the freezer for a quick dinner - prawn curry, basmati rice and garlic/coriander naan bread.
    Having TITH tomorrow.

Gosh Kirri that sounds expensive with gpigs. Tart sounds mmm. I eat quiches but not the pastry. Have a feeling my mother has made the Delia onion tart, she is a big Delia fan, has all her cook books and besides which onion tart is a French classic ;)

There's a cafe-restaurant in Brighton called The Laughing Onion and the eccentric French guy there Jean-Jacques does fantastic quiches. Eating there is like being in France..(sigh)

I didn't buy organic because having looked at the price of organic sheets on Ethical Superstore and gone :eek::eek: I didn't dare look at organic beds.

This one is a Sealy which I've had in past and been happy with and was originally £898.

If I had 000,000 to spare I would call Claridges and ask where they get theirs as I think they cost £10k each or something and all hand-made.

Mind you if I had millions I would probably pay the General Manager, Thomas Koch bankloads of money to just run my life and buy all that stuff. :D I was deeply impressed by his attention to detail, humour and charm in the doco.

I read about an American couple in NYC with a house in France and every 6 weeks they get Kelly Hoppen the interior designer to fly from London to France and change the bowls of hand-made candy which perfectly match the carpet in the sitting room
  • Lol at those Americans.

I've had a really nice day, been hanging with my family, I hacked the turkey and gave my cousin a huge breast, I'm not a fan of turkey neither are my family, I doubt I cut it right, didn't have a good knife, all my stuff is in boxes, finally i have my kitchen back, I'm cleaning and moving stuff back in slowly over by, I put a leg, 2 thighs, 2 wings and a breast in the freezer along with other smaller bits where i had hacked at the turkey and not anywhere near the bone. There was a full bag of that LOL, perfect for stir frys etc.

I also managed to bring home 3 pieces of fish from my grandma and a yum yum from my cousin.

My little cousin had.a jelly, but made me eat the raspberries because she doesn't like them, then I had a trifle, but it got hijacked by her, she ate most of the cream, half of the custard and cakes, then made me eat the jelly bit LOL, then i had a apple cumble and custard lol had dinner at my grandmas small bowl of lamb soup, lunch was 2 blueberries muffins.

Morning all. Nice bright day here again.
Hope you haven't eaten all your Easter eggs yet!! lol

Spent just £1.07 last night on 2 Sainsbury's chicken pies (49p each) and a Warburton's Crusty loaf for 9p (share with birds).
I'll tot up later and last day of the Month also, so see what the 3 months spends total up to.

Nice beef dinner later and probably just snack the rest of the day. Toast to start with.

Edwardia - you've been on a "spending spree". lol
You've bagged a great deal with that Murano dish. You'll not lose on that.

Enjoy you Easter and hope you're weather is as kind as up here.
