    In freezer - nothing.
Out of freezer - HM muffin, 2 slices HM cake & some HM SC pastry.
For dinner we had pizza with HM wedges and roasted veggies - red onions, white onion, mushrooms, red pepper & orange peppers.

Evening all, been lazy for a day or two - sorry. :o
Lynsey your hubby has done really well and hope the tests come back with the results you want.

Got his results today and cholesterol has dropped from 7.9 to 6.1.
Blood pressure down from 150/96 to 120/86 and lost almost 4.5kg in 6 weeks. Almost 6 kilos in total from peak and only 1.5 kilo or 3lb to lose really. I think the fasting helped along with healthier eating and exercise.

NSD yesterday, but bought bits today.
Spent £8.51 today and with fish and chips tomorrow, this is going to be more expensive than planned!!
Used a few coupons from Supersavvyme to get Fairy Liquid from both Sainsbury's and Tesco for 50p per bottle - 6 bottles in total and with other bottles, no more to buy this year.
Used a £2 off £20 coupon also, but knocking that off hubby's whisky from Tesco, so that worked out at £12 per litre. Last year I would have "cheated" and knocked the £2 off my food shopping. lol :p

No meat tomorrow mind you .................. it's Good Friday. :naughty:

    Morning all.

ms_night_ryder - great win. Fingers crossed for another win like that for Xmas. lol

just trying - I think the problems started when he packed in the gym in June/July and put on extra lb's!! He loves butter and double cream though and we go through too much chocolate!!
So 6/7 weeks of having a "schedule" back at the "Healthy Hearts" gym and being monitored has worked. Still would like the cholesterol lower (5.5 target), but the nurse would have been wrong just to start immediately with statins. He knew he put on weight and had ate "junk" and now knows how quick an improvement can be achieved. So yes, the "hamster wheel" and healthy eating works and junk stuff will be reduced more now though, especially at Xmas. Not eliminated, but reduced.

Forgot to take hot cross buns out and will do now. Fish and chips this afternoon and if hungry tonight, perhaps a stir fry or share a pizza.
Beef joint out tomorrow for Sunday and Monday.

**** I see the Groupon £5 credits have returned. Nothing worth buying for myself and they expired, but fingers crossed they keep on coming.

Fakeaway tonight (Thai / Chinese fusion!) so out of freezer:

    Crispy duck
    Chicken for sweet n sour
    Beef for black bean sauce
    Prawns

    Out of cupboard:

    Thai potato cake mix
    Red curry sauce
    Coconut milk

Also got the turkey out to defrost for Easter Sunday when the inlaws are over. Can definitely see some space in the freezer now - shame I still can't walk into our walk-in larder yet!

Your hubby is blessed that his high cholesterol is not genetic. My Sister and I have to take statins.

He was told that it probably was genetic though and to start taking statins immediately. At least two males on his Mother's side have had heart attacks (one fatal), but both were smokers. Sadly he no longer has any confidence in that Nurse!
We were told not to accept a single result before just taking statins "willy-nilly", but to have at least three confirmed results.
Just shows what can be achieved quickly and also what can happen by "letting yourself go".
Not totally out of the woods yet as still on the high side, just heading in the right direction. 5.5 and under is the target.

    Nice weather for a change.

  • Hello all :)
Went to Iceland, but didnt have enough to tempt me to use the £3 off £30 voucher, only had enough on list for about £20 worth of stuff and that was two big carrier bags. Plus I had to nip into Asda for a few non frozen bits (vanish, 2 in 1 washing liquid, bunny bedding, etc) so there was no way I could have carried all that around with me without breaking my back!

Bargain of the day has to be 4 kitchen rolls from Iceland though, only £1 so thats 25p per roll!!

Lots of new stuff gone into freezers lol - will do until end of April I should think with frozen stuff and just buy a few things like fresh veg and bread as we need them.
