Tonight dinner was chicken kiev with roast potatoes, roast parsnip, cabbage, leeks and onions.

    In freezer - nothing.
Out of freezer - pork steaks for Tuesday's dinner, gammon for Wednesday's dinner and 2 slices HM cake.

Theatre girl, not being funny, but in another post you did ask what are garages there for I don't think honestly they are being patronising.

Hey guys, kitchen will hopefully be done this week, sides are still covered but the cooker is reconnected. My grandmas party was on sat and there was to much food, everybody took home 2-3 plates each, I have 1 more plate of meat left :) got some good bargains, 18 drumsticks £2.98 and bagels 15 for 60p amongst others, hope everyone is well, prob back next week, although I still read thread, not much to post as no kitchen.

Ms Night Ryder, I think you misunderstand me completely.

In any case can we now drop the subject. I am bored of it tbh. What's done is done. Thanks.

Afternoon all. Been a bit busy with it being the Easter hols, and having ds to entertain. No snow here but it is blinking freezing!

Had his cousins over for tea yesterday. Decided to cook fish fingers as they can be a bit fussy, and kids picking at food with a sulky face annoy me. Glad ds isn't the fussy type lol.

Ds is going to mam's for tea tonight with his cousins hahahaha. She'll be pulling her hair out! :rotfl: So just me for meals today and tomorrow. Not sure what to do, but will involve a curry at some point. Will have to get some chicken from out the freezer.

    Catch you all later... x
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

    Afternoon all.

just trying - thanks. Blood taken and just waiting for results now.
If the last 6 weeks effort haven't worked, then it ain't going to work!!
He's lost over 5 kilos since Xmas, over 4 kilos in 6 weeks. His blood pressure is good now and well in range and his BMI is good (just under 26). So, we will see.

Anyway, spent 18p last night on 2 x loaves (crust free). Froze 6 x 4 slices for toast and the birds will get some.
Had to get petrol and picked up 3 bananas for 41p - only spend today.
Also picked up Nestle order and need to work out what we spent.
I'm having soup, hubby has finally had a "proper" meal since Saturday, a chipotle sausage in a jar of Sacla sauce with pasta (still 2 chipotle sausage left!!). Probably a pizza later.
I'll get some veg tomorrow and start a little meal planning.

It's snowing lightly on and off and can't make up it's mind.

    No freezer movements today.
We had HM wedges, honey roast gammon and mushy peas for dinner.

    Tuesdaysdinner-1_zps398edd5c.jpg
Then I went to a cake decorating talk and had a go at icing a cupcake.
There were no eggs left to go in my nest cupcake. I had a go at a sugar rose but the paste was too thick as it wasn't the petal paste. It was a good evening and I learnt a lot.

  • Mmmm yummy looking cakes Florenceem ;) I like the idea of a cake decorating class- though I would promptly eat all my attempts in one go I think! :rotfl:

Have been quiet of late but still trying with the freezer challenge -trying to run it down over the next few weeks to defrost!

Have meal planned till end of april just about and have enough in which will make total spends £406 for this quarter so not bad at all!! This doesn't include where we have eaten out etc.. as comes from entertainment budget, but I think we have done pretty well between xmas yellow stickers (some of which was also syphoned off to family) and deals ...

Have a £5 off £35 lidl voucher and some good looking deals this weekend so may be tempted to stock up and add it into the next quarters budget!

    Freezer currently looking as follows:
    1 bag quorn mince
    3/4 bag roast potatoes
    3/4 bag mixed veg
    2 loaves bread
    3 Yorkshire puddings
    3 chicken fingers
    4 fishcakes
1 tub tomato and veg sauce
    1 pack chorizo
    1 pint milk
    2 garlic baguettes

Can use all that up -thinking of quorn spag bol with the sauce and then chorizo pasta bake with leftover sauce then have a pizza base mix so shall use up the rest of the chorizo on that with garlic bread!

Cupboards are slightly more organised as have moved them round a bit so can now "shop" out of one cupboard when whatever it is (tomatoes/tinned veg/pasta) runs out! should hopefully mean wont buy more of things we already have!

Still have LOTS of rice/pasta/sauces/cereal so will try my best to run these all down over the next few months, also have a few "treats" in the form of crisps and cake mixes, not to mention chocolate which will need eating and are doing no good for my healthy eating plan!! ;)

Did a food bank collection the other day of a few bits and will do another after easter especially if I do use the lidl £5 voucher as staples and tinned veg pretty good value there and itll help me spend the £35 ! Lynsey thought of you as I noticed the 19p chocolate.....

    Hope all are well
