Planning to give ocado one last chance (after the last 'last chance' I gave them...) so am hoping to do a largish order from them over the next few days. Today we had porridge, sandwiches and for tea I am making a casserole with some thinly sliced wheaty vegan chorizos, some red and yellow peppers I got from Asda two weeks ago and they are still fine, odds and ends of celery out of the fridge, the last bits of several bags of frozen veg from the freezer including onions, a dash of olive oil, bit of marigold bouillon powder and some baharat (Middle Eastern spice blend). When its mostly cooked I am going to stick some instant mash on top (sorry but I am useless at proper mash and we have no potatoes in) and cook for a bit longer xx
Ooh where do you get your vegan chorizo from?0 -

Hope all are well it's freezing here and the roads are terrible from drifting snow and there's suppose to be more tomorrow fed up of it now.
Food today was cereal brekkie, lunch soup and dinner was home made burgers, home made coleslaw and fried tatties.
I am not buying biscuits tomorrow as kids want me to bake now, made them hob nobs and banana bread yesterday and it's nearly gone.
Lynsey hope your OH gets the results he wants and very well done to him on the weight loss. He's doing really well.
Well have decided I am changing docs on Monday fed up of being in agony with my back, hoping they send me for some sort of scan instead of my other doctor
Basically guessing then finally saying he thinks it's chronic si joint dysfunction it's only been going on since my daughter was born, I could hardly walk to pick youngest up yesterday felt my leg was going away from me and was going to fall agony for a 1 minute walk. Dd had to take my boots of when I came back. Oh well enough moaning from me.
Catch up over the weekend and take care everyone x.

Morning all
Just noticed it's starting to snow, we have been clear of the horrible White stuff until today, just hope it doesn't stick.
Bought myself some small springform tins, going to do individual chicken and pork pies today.
Breakfast fruit
Lunch probably soup of some sort, I'll see what I can find in freezer instead of a tin
Dinner chicken and ham in puff pastry I think, bit stuck for pudding so may have to bake. I find making cake/muffins and then freezing in portions makes a hassle free pudding with custard when I'm feeling lazy.0 -
Morning all, very windy here this morning and cold. Looks like we have been lucky though as other parts of the country look like they are getting the weather we normally get.
Clocks go forward next weekend and the start of summer-time. lol
Spend another £1.14 in Sainsbury's last night on, punnet peaches (20p), punnet cherries (20p), pack of baking potatoes (20p), pomegranate (20p) and some Thornton's mini caramel flapjacks (34p). The cherries were pretty poor with some dodgy ones and will need eating today and hubby had a peach and said it was "dry". Can't win all the time I suppose and surprised at the cherries - some mouldy!!
Spends yesterday = £6.41
Just toast for myself and cereal for hubby for breakfast.
Groupon booked for this afternoon and snack tonight probably.
Popping to Aldi for apples and pineapple and Co-op for Nature Valley Bars (£1.50 and 90p back from TCB). Also check the Activia Breakfast pots. Look also for sardines etc and some nuts.
Probably end up spending more than planned, but pretty much up to date with basics. Just some veg needed for next week and fish and chips on Good Friday.
Got a shock yesterday when sorting toiletries "stash" - only 6 toothpastes left and 4 shower gels - scary!!
I gave quite a bit away and will need to hunt those shortly and look for coupons and "glitches". Bleach also low, but haven't bought in ages.
My "corner shop" is in trouble - I blame the recession. lol
just trying - good luck with that change of Dr.
Hubby starts his "fasting" tomorrow for 2 days - almost 80% fruit until test on Tuesday morning and drinking mostly water.
Florenceem - nice to see a couple having fun and agree with your statement about laughter.
Take care, stay warm and be frugal.

Morning all. Well the snow has finally hit. I couldn't sleep very well last night because of the wind. The weather didn't sound very good outside either.
Don't want to venture out today but may nip out for a pizza and some choccy for when I put a film on later.
Stay safe in the snow. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

DGS said - "I don't want to be rich when I grow up"
Mr F said to him - "Why is that?"
DGS replied - " Because you and Nannie don't have a lot of money and you are so happy!"
DGS went on to remark about other family members who have more money than us but are not as happy.

I like this idea. :rotfl: Can I pop round?
Lynsey, just a thought for your toiletries stash, have you got an Avon person who comes round your way? We get loads of cheaper toiletries from the lady who comes round our way and she always makes sure to give me the sale book and some freebie samples when she can.
Just the other week we spent £10 in her book for 4 x shower gels (£5 or £1.25 each) and 4 hand soaps (£5 or £1.25 each). Will keep us going ages and it's really nice stuff, large bottles too. Of course the sale book is also good for picking out other shower gels and stuff so worth a look.
Back to our house: decluttered fridge this morning.
Found some grapefruit chunks DM had put into a bowl for "picking at" about a week ago had grown some mould on the top, so they went binwards with the juice and mould rinsed down the sink!
Some mouldy grapes thrown out and bottom shelf ledge washed over as it was sticky from something we had in there, but no clue what.
Big holes appearing in our fridge space now I've done that, and that's alongside the dent made in the cupboard from using the plain flour yesterday and also having no more bread - yes we scoffed the home made stuff in an instant :rotfl:
DM has popped up to the shops just now for a walk, some air, and hopefully she'll get some nice bits. If I've taught her well enough over the past few months she'll get something from the reduced section as well.
breakfast was a couple of scotch pancakes (ate mine plain as didnt realise we were out of maple syrup), lunch will be either stirfry or cheese on crackers, and dinner will be the burrito ready meal sitting in the fridge.

Hi, I did try and get on the other day but the site was down.
I have had to go to the shops for some potatoes, bread, milk, peas, cheese and loo roll. I managed to get some yellow sticker bread rolls for 10p a pack (I bought 3 packs for the freezer-WHOOPS). We have taken bacon, sausage, liver and pork stuffing meat out of the freezer for tonights tea, will be having that with mash and peasyum!
So my first week hasnt been too bad and we have eaten a few bits that have been sat in the freezer since goodness knows when lol!
Thank you for all the lovely welcomes BTW!
