Morning all.

OT, but had some good news this morning. Landlord is going to do my bathroom out and install an electric shower... wooohooo!!! It's going to be great being able to shower. Can't wait til it gets done!! :j

Anyway, back on topic lol. Bought a few things from Home Bargains yesterday. Stocked up on that fab curry sauce. Bought a few varieties to try, although meant to get a couple of jars of the Goan and bought two korma instead. Hopefully it'll be mild enough for ds lol. Also bought milk.

Doubtful I'll be buying anything today, but may have tea out as ds is at Beavers and it's a bit of a trek, so may pop to brother's after school then have Chinese on the way to Beavers.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Morning all, cold and windy here.

Had porridge for breakfast, hubby just fruit.

Been out with Brother and picked up a few things and dropped a clanger with the milk!!
Thought I'd be clever and buy 2 x 2 litres from Farmfoods and freeze a bottle ........................ but bought full milk instead of semi-skimmed!!
It'll do for porridge and I have to live with it. Hubby will use it after Tuesday though.

Farmfoods spent £3.60 (3 x packs of frozen veg for £2 and 2 x 2 litres milk for £1.60)
Lidl spent £1.67 (dried oregano 49p, mixed herbs 49p and a swede 69p). I "bought" 3 bananas also, but they aren't on the receipt - so looks like a "freebie".
Days spends = £5.27 and quite a bit for that.

Also bought 12 x UHT milk (£6) and 6 jars of fruit jam (£1.74 for 6) for foodbank = £7.74

Just fruit need tomorrow or if Sainsbury's have any reduced.

Soup for myself and fish with boiled potatoes, peas and sweetcorn for hubby.

Hi guys sorry for absence this week had 3poorly kids.

whats happened.

did not do any unnessary food shopping just stuff we run out of.

I did go into co-op twice on tuesday in morning for browse as was up high street. went in tea time got 2bags of reduced stuff for £5.50 was chuffed.

got reduced rasberries 30p a punnet, bananas 30, warbertons pittas 25p and reduced bread rolls never seems to be much meat or decent reductions on meat and poultry latly, maybe at easter.

Child benefit got paid in so treated myself to rice krispies as hate the mini weetabix brought in farm foods other week and annoying kids dont like the honey monster cereal either.:(

I got 4meals out of a aldi 3range chicken.

hubby binned some stuff that could have lasted longer so got annoyed.

he was away 2days so meals quite easy.

he brought back free hotel coffee sachets.

still have a bit in freezer

nearly out cheese
low on eggs
low on butter
out apples
low on onions
no chillis dried or fresh as hubby binned them ahhh!

pasta tonight with garlic bread and reduced bacon peices.

Also making a few soups

as have carrots reduced-last weeks carrot and corainder soup was lush.
chicken and veg soup with last of chicken.
roasted squash soup
tomato and basil soup.

its cold so plan to eat soup all weekend.

made some lush choc, rasberry fairy cakes but cant really do much baking unless get more butter.

we also low on milk down to last 12pints so will have to pop lidls tommorow.

Despite my £80 overspend this month im learning from my mistakes.

feel more optimistic for next month.

need to get aldis get easter things.
sainsburys had decent sized med maltesers eggs for 99p.

loving trying new things and hunting down cheap recipes.

loving tinned fruit so might stockpile on that.

half term here next week which means we normally eat more.

Hope everyones well.take care wrap up warm.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON:D,Onwards and upward2013:)
• afternoon all

had a migraine coming on all morning, so got cover for my shift and am staying home to rest for the day. back to work tomorrow when I feel better.

had cheese on crackers for breakfast as needed the comfort food.

lunch was rewarmed stirfry but couldnt finish it - ate the meat but got sick of the rest so binned it. hope the next three days I dont get bored of it - might have to freeze a couple of portions later just in case.

dinner tonight since I'm not working will now be bacon and scrambled eggs courtesy of DM :) will save jumbo chicken burrito for tomorrow night instead.

oh.....and bread making was an eventual success. :j I used THIS RECIPE.
However the first batch I made turned out wrong, because I naively added all the water at the same time rather than a bit at a time, so had to dilute it and run it away down the sink before making another batch. Didnt have much plain flour left so substited about two cups plain for two cups self raising flour.
Took a while to prove, rise, cook etc but worth it, came out in two sections which look like large sandwich rolls! We had a slice of one "loafroll" when it was cool, DM decided I have a new job as breadmaker now. :rotfl:

We scoffed the rest of the "loafroll" as a snack, and have another small "loafroll" to cut up and will have that with dinner tonight.

Oh Florenceem this made me giggle.

Hope all are well it's freezing here and the roads are terrible from drifting snow and there's suppose to be more tomorrow fed up of it now.

Food today was cereal brekkie, lunch soup and dinner was home made burgers, home made coleslaw and fried tatties.

I am not buying biscuits tomorrow as kids want me to bake now, made them hob nobs and banana bread yesterday and it's nearly gone.

Lynsey hope your OH gets the results he wants and very well done to him on the weight loss. He's doing really well.

Well have decided I am changing docs on Monday fed up of being in agony with my back, hoping they send me for some sort of scan instead of my other doctor
Basically guessing then finally saying he thinks it's chronic si joint dysfunction it's only been going on since my daughter was born, I could hardly walk to pick youngest up yesterday felt my leg was going away from me and was going to fall agony for a 1 minute walk. Dd had to take my boots of when I came back. Oh well enough moaning from me.

Catch up over the weekend and take care everyone x.
