Morning all, hope everyone is OK.
I was laughing when they said it was the first day of spring, still snowing here, it's really horrible here right now. Kids at school wouldn't be surprised if they close early.
Food today is toast, lunch soup I think and dinner is sausages with I don't know what yet to them out the freezer earlier.
Right off now to have a tidy round the house. Catch up soon.
Oh yeah they said on the radio this time last year here we were basking in a heat wave !!.0 -
No snow but cold here, must order some heating oil as we're low again, seem to have used vast amounts this winter compared with last year.
Yesterday lunch soup
dinner lamb chops, baked pots, peas & carrots. profiterols, all from freezer except the potato.
Today breakfast fruit.
Lunch probably soup, have some HM chicken and sweetcorn
Dinner. Something to do with chicken.
Found a southern fried packet mix in the cupboard. Does anyone use this, is it any good (it's still indate) or beter still, does anyone have a recipe so I can make my own coating0 -
Morning all. Cold and miserable day today. Hoping it perks up for tomorrow as ds has his Easter parade, but somehow I think it'll be a washout!
On my own for meals today. Going to have boiled egg and salad sandwich for lunch and for tea I think I'm going to have goan curry with butternut squash, so an unintentional veggie day. Looking forward to trying the curry.
Today will be a NSD as not venturing out. Really need to get on with the housework.Spent a couple of quid in Tesco yesterday on salad leaves and a butternut squash. Also spent about £6 in Fultons the day before on bits and pieces, one of which was squid rings.
I remember the heatwave we had last year. Can't believe it's just over a year since I got back from Disney. I've Primrose Valley to look forward to this year. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Out: pork meatballs, salmon fillet
In: 2.5kg leg of lamb joint for Sunday roast, turkey mince to make more burgers, braising steak for lunch with my folks tomorrow, plus tins of chickpeas and beans for the larder.
Hmmm, not doing so well this week!0 -
Out (of fridge) - half a pepper, and half bag of beansprouts with third bag of mange tout for dinner and a tbsp of oyster sauce ( nearly all gone and won't buy again as too bland for me)
Half a tin of kidney beans for tonight's tea ( jerk chicken curry)
Out of freezer - chicken fillets x 1 portion
Out of cupboard - half tin of chopped tomates
In - half tin of chopped tomatoes ( will probably freeze these) and 3 x YS pitta bread

Hi, I'm new here and I am very interested in this post. I keep saying that we are going to have to live out of the cupboards and freezers but it never seems to happen, I just keep finding more and more 'bargains' and add to our already bulging cupboards.
Sooooo, I have just done a big shop with Approved Foods and have another order on its way, so I don't need to go proper shopping for quite a while.
I have £50 to spend this week and so far I have spent £6 on bread and milk etc.
Here goes to saving some money and clearing out my cupboards!Cost cutting for 2013

Welcome emzk
hope you continue to find this thread useful!
freezer movements: nearly forgot to take the packs of beef out to defrost for batch making stirfry tomorrow afternoon! luckily have a scribbled note for mealplans stuck to my wardrobe so all is fine.
also took out scotch pancakes to defrost in time for breakfast either friday or saturday (havent decided which yet), lamb chops (for tomorrows dinner), and another pack of bacon.
hot cross bun loaf for brekkie, will have last two slices tomorrow so thats all the freezer bread used!will have to look out for cheap bread bargains next month, have a LOT of cereal [2 1/2 packs!] and some microwavable porridge to use up first.
DM was not wrong about the cheese from the other day - had some last night and it was rank! _pale_ So will just make a large pasta bake next week for batch cooking, grate it up and throw it in there. Problem solved :rotfl:
tomorrow I now have to work  and had a yummy dinner with the Mother all planned, so she's going to have hers while I'm out and save mine to warm up for when I get in. It's parsnips (to use up) carrots (to use up) and aforementioned lamb chop. Yum yum! :A0 -
Hi Emz,
Half bag of quorn nuggets out for DD and the last of the okra to go with my Jerk chicken curry. Hi y'all and welcome enzk
So yesterday Farmaround failed to deliver orderbut I didn't get to have a NSD as I schlepped to ASDA. Got a nice bundle of organic trimmed leeks for £2 which saved 45p on Riverford price. Stocked up on organic tinned whole/chopped toms too as cheapest around.
I bought Reflected By You sequel to Bared To You by Sylvia Day and OMG what a load of tosh :rotfl:
OH has flu with chest infection so we watched Happy Feet 2 last night awww :T Got Ice Age 1-4 to work through next.
Ocado order this morning and my kitchen is now awash with veg and freezer has a load of fish in it. Also stocked up on Ecover washing up liquid and fabric conditioner on offer and I hope have enough of both to last until June.
Had some Waitrose organic NZ lamb leg steaks for lunch and well yummy. Had the last Morries organic courgette that was in the bottom of the veg drawer and when OH moans fridge is too cold I will point out again that courgette was in perfect nick but was 11 days old
Holland and Barrett order turned up as well. I got loads of stuff for the BOGOHP with free p&p for just over £20 (offer online doesn't end til April) so verry pleased. Got enough cyder vinegar for dressings for summer hopefully.
If you have a greenhouse and are doing greenhouse prep, the current free ASDA mag with the cupcakes on the front has a coupon inside for Jeyes Fluid.
ASDA doing 3 for £4 on big bags Unwins seeds but I just got runner beans. All I need now is the compost and some canes
Hoping to get some organic veg fertiliser tomorrow on offer at Lidl.
