I agree with that, much easier to focus when you are "accountable". Possibly fear of failure??

Spent bits yesterday - £4.53 in total and will need veg during the week, well a little veg and spread.

Toasted hot cross buns for breakfast and cooking steak now, cooking kidneys separately for hubby (I don't fancy them).

We'll sort freezers tomorrow and definitely getting all the cr4p together in one drawer (not much cr4p left) and hopefully get rid of over this week and next week. Getting there though, day by day, week by week .................................. or more month by month!! lol

Still keeping spending down and targeting more or less just what I need to make meals with.

Turkey burgers out of freezer for dinner tonight with felafels. OH away for the next 4/5 days so will be trialling a few veggie dishes before I give them to him LOL. Made dal for lunch and it was bland so need to find another recipe.

Definitely not an NSD, went to Costco and bought toilet rolls (8 x 40 packs, 2.5 for us, 5.5 for family!), 10 x 48 sachets of cat food, 5L of olive oil and 24 microwave rices (6 for sister, rest for us). Hmm, cat food is currently living on my bookshelf as there is no room in larder!

All stuff we will use and very good prices but not good for having to find storage for it all.

Tesco meat free meatballs out of the freezer tonight ( will not be buying again - rank compared to their meat free mince). Half a carton of passata back in, which should be able to be defrosted and used when i make coq au vin later in the week.

    Evening all,

    Freezer movements lately include
    IN
    2 x bread
1 x ice cubes (I know i could make them cheaper but I like the convenience)
1 bag frozen yorkshire puds (I know i could make them cheaper but I like the convenience)
1 bag oven chips (I know i could make them cheaper but I like the convenience) hmmm, starting to see a patten emerge here....:rotfl:

    OUT
YS Pork joint for tomorrows tea
YS Chicken popcorn thingys for kids tea today

Not a lot of outward movement, but had shopping delviered by Mr T today and trying [STRIKE](and failing a bit)[/STRIKE] to stay away from waitro5e.

Shopping budget looking better for this stage of the month than usual, just got to settle up with sister (katep23) for all the rice and loo rolls, (thanks for getting it all, did the shop assistant give you a funny look when buying 320 loo rolls?!?!?:rotfl::rotfl:) so that might push us a bit closer to the budget, but its definitely better than it would usually be on the 19th of the month.

Got bulgar wheat out of the cupboard a big 2kg bag in local Turkish shop was either £2 or £3, also got out the chopped parsley and some garlic pur!e cubes, and used the last bit of the marigold stock powder and a couple of sweet potatoes from the fridge, cubed to make a Bulgar pilaf, the bulgar expands a lot more than rice when it cooks so one cup of bulgar is enough for 6 people. With it we had nacho bean burgers from ASDA shop a fortnight ago xx

    Out of freezer - 2 cheese/onion pasties - tomorrow's dinner.
I have the bread maker on so there will be bread going in.
We had roast chicken, sage/onion stuffing, roast potatoes, roast parsnip, asparagus, leeks, onions and gravy for dinner today.
Mr F found some cooked chicken in the freezer - we have worked out - must have come from a DD when she borrowed space in there. I never leave the skin on my chicken - this still had it's on. The skin came straight off - so fattening.

Evening all, snow, snow and more snow today and still snowing yet had at least 6 inches so far.

Youngest wasn't at school today and older 2 weren't keen on going on the bus which I couldn't believe actually ran. So dd and I baked a lemon drizzle cake and some hob nobs easy but kept her occupied then she decided to make some jelly.

Food today was sweet and sour chicken with special fried rice and they had some prawn crackers.

Ds was being a bit boisterous with oldest outside went to stop him and guess what forgot I had my slippers on and went flying, kids were all in stitches me I was not impressed as I felt my back straight away. I was taking pain killers as could hardly move and oldest was trying not to laugh gggrrr, I said to her what do you find so funny, it's you were up right one minute marching towards ds the next you were on your back.

Hope all are well and don't go out in your slippers in the snow lol.

Catch up soon and stay warm everyone.
  • Evening all,

Not much going on here, had fish and chips while out shopping today, its nice to be home for a couple days and spend some proper time with DM :)

Hot cross bun loaf for brekkie today, bought fresh bread and had that with cheese spread for dinner. Pasta bake portion (last one) taken out for tomorrow's dinner after work :)

I think so, its easier to break a promise to yourself as no one will know but when you have others its easier, a bit like a diet really.

It wasn't a NSD for me as I needed to get milk, steak and salmon for later in the week as my body was craving it with all my training. On omlette just wasn't going to cut it last night!

Yesterday was porridge for breakfast and chicken salad all from what I had already. I had my salmon fillet and steamed veg which hit the spot.

Today i'm all from the cupboards, steak and eggs for breakfast, buckwheat pasta and chopped tomatoes for lunch and I have a chicken breast with stir fry for after training tonight.

Annoyingly I forgot to put bin bags and eggs on my list so i'll probably end up back in there on Friday!

Today is the 1st day of Spring ..................... Summer is coming.

NSD yesterday, but will need bread today and a a few bits and pieces.
Took out what I think is the last pack of steak mince for a cottage pie and will need to look out for "whoopsied" mince or hope Lidl have their lean mince on half-price offer very soon. I do have a few packs of pork mince to use up, so a spag bol with that soon.
Toasted hot cross bun later for breakfast.
