Went T's again today. Needed a few bits that we couldnt get in the local shops and Mum wanted to buy some daffodils for the kitchen windowsill.
I am so pleased with myself, I didnt buy anything reduced in the chilled/freezer section although I did see a huge stack of those bread cart things and they were full of chocolate cupcakes, reduced from £2 to £1 a pack so picked up some of those.
Other y/s things were 2 packs of egg noodles (85p each), a small piece of black pudding for DM (24p) and some scotch pancakes (85p).
Mum also went to the deli and managed to get another gammon joint which was £4.99 down from £9.99!
Spent £43.01 but used a £5 helping hand coupon that our neighbour gave us last week and a 30p coupon for baconfoil
Had toast for breakfast, some gammon ham slices with crackers for lunch, and tonight I'll have a microwavable burger and a few oven chips.
Taken out last batch of stirfry for tomorrow evenings dinner0 -
No freezer movements today. Tin of mushy peas gone from the garage + tub of baked beans from the fridge.
We had a quick meal - pastie from the freezer that Mr F had got. So we had HM wedges + pastie + baked beans + mushy peas.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Shortcrust pastry - made with 10ozs plain flour and 4 ozs Trex.
8 ozs chopped up bacon - I buy the bacon pieces. I medium tomato. 1/2 medium onion. 4 eggs. Fresh ground black pepper.
If I have made this when out of tomato - I have used mushroom or pepper.
Line a pie dish with 1/2 HM shortcrust pastry - cheaper and superior to bought. I !!!!! the base with a fork to stop it rising. Next add a layer of thinly sliced tomato and chopped onion. Then place the chopped up bacon in the shape of a cross - so you have 4 spaces for the eggs. Break an egg into each space and season with pepper - I don't add salt as the bacon is usually salty enough. Cover pie with a round of pastry - sealing edges. Brush with milk.
Cook - approx 30 mins - 190 then another 25-30 mins at 170. All ovens vary. I stick a skewer in to check if pie is cooked.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Evening all,
Freezer movements, more than I'd like in the wrong direction.
Bought a y/s salmon today, will be lovely for a family get together, was very reduced, that's my excuse.
Chicken burgers and chips out for the kids tea tonight, some leftovers for the dogs, they're very happy.
Mince out of the freezer for tea tomorrow, lasagne and garlic bread I expect.
Run out of baked beans, major crisis on our house, :eek:0 -

Morning all, hope all are well and getting decent weather - lovely here today and noticed the starlings are back - more to feed. lol
Spent just £1.48 yesterday in Sainsbury's - 49p on a large bag of Red Rooster's and 99p on a pack of 2 plaice fillets - decent "whoopsies".
Just had toast with jam for breakfast and meatball pasta bake is made and just needs finishing in the oven. Took out a bag of mozzarella to add and I'll make some garlic bread - simple.
Pork casserole for tomorrow's main meal.
Popping into a few shops today for a look and need not too much. See what jumps out at me!!
Spends last week were £32.24, but that included fish and chips from chippy and Nestle order - so not as bad as it could have been.
Spends so far for the year by month:
Jan - £58.38
Feb - £97.21
Mar - £100.74
Total for 3 months - £256.33
April so far just £1.83 + £1.48 = £3.31
April will be under £100 and a shame March went over the £100 by only 74p!! It's only a number though.

Evening all.
Spent a few quid at tesco today on whoopsies and a few other bits. Bought some raw king prawns that I had with a Goan curry, served on a bed of spinach leaves with half a naan bread. Was very nice.
Also bought a finest topside roasting joint that I got for absolutely nothing. There was a SEL saying it was half price but I got charged full price so with double the difference back, it was free! :money:
May do lamb meatballs with feta tomorrow, been meaning to do that for ages. hmmm.
In - 2 salmon fillets and 3 turkey steaks.
Out - half a naan bread lolThere's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
