I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

I was going to treat myself to a takeaway tonight as havn't had one for months but I just couldn't bring myself to spend £5 on one! So in true MSE style I popped along to Sainsburys and got the following:
Pilau rice - reduced from £2 to 69p and freezeable so only used 1/3 tonight (23p).
Sausages - reduced from £2.50 to 99p but again only ate 3 tonight with another 5 in the freezer (37p)
I already had some Jalfrezi sauce from ages ago so made a curry with the sausages and Pilau to the grand total of 60p.
the rest will be going into the freezer for a couple of other meals.

Sorry to hear about your dog Edwardia. I have been through the pain of a quiet house. It takes a long time for it to feel right but it sounds like the dog had a great life!Mortgage: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £91830 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] Jan 12 - £89'199[/STRIKE] May 14 - £69'999 Car Loan: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £3658 [/STRIKE] July 12 - £0! Hi y'all, thank you so much for your kind thoughts re: dawg. Although he went peacefully without so much as a twitch, there was a bit of drama when the vet managed to stick herself with the needle !
While OH went back to the house and cleaned up the dog bed, bowls etc for my mother to take to rescue centre, she dragged me into Sainsbos. They didn't have any white lilies or roses so I got two bunches of the tiddliest ever white carnations at £3 each to put next to a big photo of my labrador. Totally unimpresssed with Sainsbury's flowers. Picked up YS organic mushrooms Lynseyplus org wild rocket and watercress and we did a buffet lunch with tarts I ordered yesterday from Riverford.
My mother wanted a demo of new laptop so did A&C and Riverford orders. OH discovered that she's such a teapot we had gotten through the extra milk I ordered yesterday. I had to go back to Sainsbos and buy more.
Dinner will probably be leftovers from lunch since we have no dawg to vacuum them up. It seems horribly quiet. He was a rescue labrador, I had him since he was a year old. He had organic sirloin steak last night, and he'd had a pretty decent life, going to countryside, seaside, boot fairs, to uni with me, on trains, chasing pheasants, winning 3rd in his first and only dog show Most Handsome Dog. He was the kindest happiest dog I ever knew (and I'd have five before him). I have lots of photos of him with Pa in the country though.
Definitely not an NSD as vet charged £125.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Freezer report - out - 2 HM muffins and some TITH. In 2 portions of HM chicken quiche.
Made the chicken quiche in a sandwich baking tin to avoid a - soggy bottom - but the chicken was watery!
Anyway it tasted okay. When Mr F came home with the chicken - I didn't fancy it - we had some pate that was naff - the chicken was what he got free of charge instead of more pate. I have gone right off pate after the manky lot we had - really had lots of grisly bits in it.
For dinner we had the quiche with HM wedges and salad - celery, grated carrot, spring onions, red onion and a yellow pepper.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning all.
Edwardia - hope you are OK today, big loss.
I've been invited out for Sunday lunch and took pork chop out for hubby.
Porridge for breakfast and muesli for hubby.
Sainsbury's for milk and might get a Dr Oekter pizza, but just one.
Nothing needed immediately, though cheap bread and hot cross buns would be gratefully accepted.
Hope the next lot of TCB offers are to my liking.
Thinking of making a batch of carrot and coriander soup.
Hubby says he will "target" the Quorn and veggie stuff this week. It could all be gone in a fortnight if he tries hard. lol
Catch up later.
