Kirri, I work with old furniture and you look like you have an infestation of wood borers, you only see the holes once they have moved on, they are exit holes for the larvae. You can easily get very infected, and now the insects are out etc. I would get the infected furniture out ASAP, assuming you can't treat because of your animals. You don't want infection to spread to the new floors etc. Hoovering the holes doesn't help I am afraid. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but in your position I wouldn't wait to see what happens next.0

It's definitely still in there as sawdust is still increasing but think it's only just made the hole.. but yes the table will be going but I can't get it moved till end of week and have nowhere to leave it till then as am in a flat, though yes am worried about other stuff.. the new floor is only laminate so guess they won't eat that luckily! Am also thinking it may have been in the table the few years I've had it as weird it's in the only item I've bought abroad. Do they eat varnished wood furniture too?
Urgh, thinking about it could put me off my breakfast!0 -
Jelly Biactol - OMG yes, I can just see his asst being even more of a fan than she is already if he makes her one:rotfl:
Kirri - that's a bit off-putting, I don't think I'd like laying in bed thinking about critters chewing my furniture !0 -
Morning all.
Had meat yesterday, 8 wings for lunch, a Jamaican patty and then went to my family dinner where I had lamb, chicken wings, chicken and pork lol i certainly wasn't holding back! Was delicious. Bonus was I did not.much cooking except mac n cheese.
Even better bonus i came back with 6 chicken wings and lamb and a bit of beetroot, so just rice and veggies to make.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Jacket potato and cheese/butter for lunch again.
Couple of the hm hazel and choc sandwich biscuits mid pm.

Managed to seal it in a large, clear bin bag, taped up with parcel tape.. hopefully it can't escape.
Should say I meant the whole table is in the bin bag.. don't want to deliberately kill the beetle, just don't want it escaping in here..0 -
Well we chickened out and didn't go to in laws in case we couldn't get back in the snow and so far we've only seen a small flurry!
DH wanted to do something for his birthday (partly the reason for weekend away) so we went out for dinner. After winding 5 year old DS up that we didn't have money to go hd said ee could use some of his money (but not all of it!), but we said we'd pay!
I do feel spurred on to continue with not shopping so will try and meal plan some meals based on cupboard items. Half term this week too so will probably have to make extra treats.
My other plan for 2013 is to decorate the whole house which has not been started due to all the ill health, but we've got a mini skip coming this week so I'm hoping to get de-cluttering soon.
I need to work out my spends for Feb but well on track despite meal out.0
