Could you catch the rat and release it elsewhere? Poor little thing if it's young :( I despise the poison being put down too, someone I knew had their dog eat some by mistake.

Sure I read something that some schools had been supplied by one of those dodgy suppliers? Should be a standard set for food provided in schools - Jamie O showed standards could be improved, in fact I don't know how they make such bad food for the price even, but how many schools/hospitals etc do in house food, probably not many these days, just crud from some iffy 3rd party supplier and no doubt the mgrs are making their profit.

Lynsey, I had to turn the tv off night I'd heard that awful screeching taped call so much - both as bad as each other though he probably deserves the revenge!

Potato in the oven - really hungry now and it takes so long..
  • Morning all.

Decided to give the walks a break until Monday, I have had 2 crumpets and cheese for lunch with a mint tea, I remembered the potato skins in freezer have taken them out, will have spinach and cheese and cheese onion and sweetcorn ones for lunch, going to make a tomato anf veg pasta for dinner topped with cheese, sounds like a lot of cheese today but only having small amounts. Last veg day today and it has been a pleasure.

Thinking of maybe another stir fry tomorrow?? Options, options. Pity it wasn't a "veggie" month. :D
Think Sunday may be another tagliatelle in blue cheese sauce (like last week), but with lardons. lol

Apparently some supermarkets are going to stop giving out 'best buys' leaflets and start handing out copies of the Racing Post instead :rotfl:

Hi all.. had probs with OH's laptop earlier, so must get new battery for mine sorted - am thinking of Amazon.

Got my second Riverford order this morning and then Shorters Club order about 30mins later, delivered by my local Bookers - 48 bottles of water takes up more room than I thought :D

Am so glad we haven't been eating conventional ready meals. I don't think we've had frozen beef lasagne for TKTC (Too Knackered To Cook) occasions since Iceland did internet delivery.

Think we should put a ban on French and Polish processed meat until they clean up their acts frankly.

At last the freezer is looking as if it emptying.

My daughter visited yesterday. She went home with her the following.

    1 bag of quorn mince
    2 Welsh cakes
    A bag of scones
One baked potato stuffed with cheese
My last portion of cheese pie

She also took some biscuits and the last of the ginger truffles.

Into the house came some hot chocolate from my friend that was going out of date - she only keeps it in for visitors and she had two pots. I wonder if I will ever get rid of my stash.

I have some frozen pastry which I will use for another cheese pie with some cheese which I froze. I have also taken out of the freezer a dish of veg in cheese sauce for my tea today.

Need to shop today for milk, potatoes and vegetables. I keep looking at bread but I really should keep on making bread with the last bag of out of date flour. That will remind me to never overbuy bread flour again. It will be so nice to go out and choose a loaf of without feeling guilty.

Fozziebear - I like Greggs steak slices, and their fancy doughnuts are lush too! Their sausages rolls are vile though!

Oh yes, I had forgotten their doughnuts! :D

I used to love the lemon ones, but between the lemon curd and the icing, if I eat more than 1/2 of one, I have to lie down in a sugar coma for a few hours ;)
