:eek::eek: My carrot and lentil stew looks like it's got tiny worms in it!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

ok. I realise it's highly unlikely that it's worms, but I can't think what it'll be. They're tiny pale things that are shaped like a letter C. Gunna have to scroll back to see what I put in it lol.

It's just the lentils! Since lentils are a whole food (and seed), there are different parts inside of them which can and usually do fall out/off once they are cooked, especially if it's been stored overnight in the fridge. I'd say heat it up, close your eyes, and enjoy it. Or you could freeze it until you've forgotten about it and then reheat and eat. :)

Hmm agree with Lynsey, looks like maggots! But unlikely unless it's been uncovered and a fly got in quick. Pretend it's rice?

Whatever is in my table must be quite big, the hole is about 4mm wide and I've wiped the sawdust away and quite quickly it's built up about an 8mm high pile again.. was going to try and suck it out with the hoover but then I don't have hoover bags in my hoover, I just have to put my hand in to pull all the fluff and stuff out..

Wish I'd read your post before I binned it lol. Had a small banana instead. :( I did think it must have been the lentils as there were loads of them, and there's certainly no flies in the place, never mind my fridge. Thanks for the info, never noticed them before when I had my other servings. Won't make the mistake of binning it again.

Kirri sounds like a grub or beetle of some sort! Careful you don't pull out one of these! 0UNbchwcco5atpzm00VxIRPXo1_500.jpg  I'd poke about with something, with some newspaper down. *shivers* You don't want whatever it is spreading.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

^ The table will be in the communal garden if one of those comes out! I am worried it might get into another bit of furniture though

I'm going to have to have my lunch first in case it puts me off... potato is nearly ready.

Hi everyone, thank goodness I've had my lunch before logging on here!! That grubby thing looks gross yuk yuk yuk. Can't keep up with you all, chatting too fast:)

Food budget is creeping dangerously up and I've still another 3 weeks to go. Will have to get my thinking cap on and see what meals I can come up with. Plenty in freezer but cupboards and fridge getting decidedly bare. Planning a wee visit to the parents this weekend so will no doubt (blooming hope I do!!) leave with some supplies. Veggie days going ok but I miss chicken and salmon. Had toasted cheese for lunch but I grated an apple on top with some more cheese on top of that so it went all brown and crispy, REALLY delicious and a nice change. Planning to have tomato rice with roasted veg for dinner and DS2 is having spaghetti with butter and black pepper and garlic bread - his new favourite apparently, strange boy:)

Yuck to all the bugs and grubs.

seriously PO at mystery shopper firm refuse again to pay for assignment so going to call it a day they are a crappy firm and will get out of paying if they can.

Lunch was Spinach and goats cheese pizza salad and a few oven chips for me.
DH had garlic chicken pizza and above just 2 slices of pizza each it was small and yummy.

Dinner will be HM veg soup
All above from freezer so glimmers of space appearing.

Made Goul;ash for weekend for Hubby and freezer
Toad in hole for DS who wants some for his freezer(he is veggie)
Do need to make bread.....but looking at a shed load of dishes that need to be washed:-(
DH went to Lidls today lots of tools and shed stuff there so he came away with a trolley full and £42 spent.

It's quite a big hole, well big for an insect, 4mm wide ish - it's eating at quite a rate given how much sawdust it's producing. If I find a new photo sharing site will put a pic up!

How the hell did it get in here... (table was bought 4 ish years ago so not sure it would have come with the table although my sis who lives abroad where I got the table had similar sized holes in her door out there!).

edit - just googled it, looks similar.. I've just had all my flooring up and replaced, guess it could have literally come out of the woodwork under the flat's floor... and got in my table.
  • Kirri I have noticed my um digestion doesn't smell, is lighter and I am going more often,is this normal?

Sorry to start my post that way lol, I walked 4.8 miles today, I don't trust Google maps anymotr, so i got a app, on the way back I started it, I was getting obsessed with how much I had walk and stopper it by mistake, half a mile in I wondered why I had only burned 5 kcal lol, this New route is up a hill and is way better than yesterday's so I'm going to stick to it for a while.

I had 2 crumpets with cheese for brekkie, a bit of cake.for elvenses, the rest of the corn chowder for lunch, having chocie and crisps right now and veg stir fry for dinner.

Wp is it gap? They do that kind of thing, how was the argos visit I booked one and the unbooked it, seemed like too much faffing.

  • Took cheap mince out of freezer (I have been using delish Donald Russell mainly over the last year) and wanted to see if the "simmering before cooking" method, would make cheap stuff more palatable.......big success!!

Although that might just be because it is much less fatty....;)

Anyway, made 4 portions of chilli and rice for OH to take for work meals.

Chilli too spicy for me so Indian takeway portion from freezer for me, lasagne portion from freezer for DGS for our tea.

Also used up tin of rice pudding (Asda filler item) and a tin of kidney beans that were older than the dawn of time :rotfl:
