I take statins - have only recently started and I am SURE that they have made my arthritis much worse. Today I was in Lidl and the pain in my knee was excruciating - I could hardly walk and was nearly crying.

DD didn't go to school yesterday so there was murder last night when I got in from work. I don't really know what to do about it. She's also been and had her tongue pierced (with money pinched out of my purse) - I am at the end of my tether with her.......

I think the problems where drs have recently halved the dose they've had people on for years has been linked with that??

Is there not an lower age limit for tongue piercing without parental consent, I'm sure my piercers had a notice up about it?? My mum didn't like it when I had mine done as an adult even.. I got tattooed at 18 and that didn't go down well either - but not sure anything said to me at the time would have made a difference. The missing school/money taking is a worry.

So tired, but just about to put some oat bread on - can't decide still whether to have a dinner or just bread and cheese when it's done.
  • Jane is your daughter being bullied? How old is she? Sounds like a rebel.

Kirri I think.your right.there is an age.limit, there are ways around it, i got my first tattoo at 17 lol.

Have you tried getting your older dd to have a word? Or her dad?

  • 2 slices of seedy bread out of the freezer for brekkie.

But 2 LO portions of chicken, mushroom and rice should go in but hopefully DH and I can have one each tomorrow and not need to cram in it the freezer.

Used up pecans and cranberries from stores and made muffins, ran out of SF flour and had to make up the amount with bread flour, didnt rise hugely but taste wonderful :j

Tea is corned beef hash, will use up corned beef that DH had for work sarnies, new pots from fridge and last bit of frozen onion from freezer.

Thanks for welcoming me back.....I promise I will try harder to make some space! :D

Btw I have listed all my tinned/jars of sauce, fruit, veggies, puds so I can try and work through them too :T

I have run out of tinned toms  which is unheard of in this house, only bought 4 tins last week, but then again, I have been very good cooking from scratch and a tin of toms goes in most savouury things I cook!! :rotfl:

Thanks Statins do have a lot to answer for.....I will know more when we see cardio chappie

How old is DD, she does a wee bit rebellious and the money taking is very very worrying.
Is there a family member she will open up to a grandmother or sister etc?

I was so lucky with my son ......but at 25 came home with his ear pierced I hit the roof with him...hehehe he quickly got rid of it .

    Hope knee is okay:-(

    Evening all.

NSD apart from a bottle of vino. :o Ds is with his dad so having a relaxing evening all to myself.

Lunch was egg with beans, good stuff mini sausages and toast. Made some lovely basic biscuits with ds today. Nice and buttery. I added ground and flaked almonds to them.

Apparently there's no age limit on piercings with children except for getting genitalia pierced. Shocking really eh. Tattoos is 18. Dad wasn't happy at all when I had a tattoo at 24 lol. It's on my back between my shoulder blades, so not easily seen. Used to have various errr... piercings, but took them out, except for ears that is.

fozziebeartoo - Corned beef hash has become one of ds' favourites, but works out expensive now as you can't get the tins whoopsied lol. Was going to do it next week as have a tin in, but don't think it's going to go down well for veggie week.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

    Evening all.

Groupon meal was not good and service cr4p!!

Haven't done too bad today, add up later.

Jane - sorry to hear of your woes, hope all sorts itself out.
Surprised you didn't care much for the fudge .................. I love it.

I'll probably be asking questions about those statins soon, only 7 weeks or so now for hubby to decide if he wants to try them. Worrying that changing the dose seems troublesome.

Might pop to Sainsbury's to put lottery on and get milk, then I can have a NSD tomorrow. Might grab something nice and cheap. lol

I know I've been awol for a while now (nearly 2 months!) Not much to report, just saving and using up c@rp from the freezer and couponing as we go along. :)

    Evening all !

Back from the cookery course - made tzatiki, houmous, borani esfanaj, imam bayildi and a no pastry veggie tart using Halloumi. My mother made an Egyptian rice dish instead of houmous and pitta bread instead of tzatziki.

Yesterday we went to Sainsbury's. Budgens and ASDA and after queuing forever I was soo knackered I just had houmous and a few Carr's water biscuits followred by organic strawberries with Rodda's clotted cream - and fell asleep on the sofa, missing Monty Don in the South of France :(

Was cooking when Ocado called to ask for directions -turned out they got customers muddled and had already delivered ours thankfully.

OH texted that he had run out of milk (after saying yesterday that we had enough to last til Monday so didn;t need to add to Ocado order) so instead of NSD I had to do more queuing in Sainsbury's to get milk this evening en route.

I requested one of those Department of Health be food smart meal mixers and it arrived today. Can't say any of it looks healthy to me but if you ordered one, it comes with money off vouchers for Quorn, Cravendale, Schwartz herbs and Fruit Shoots.

Dinner tonight is Imam bayildi with borani esfanaj, lunch tomorrow Halloumi tart and tzatziki so all veggie so far...

I love the sound of that soup, thankyou.

Today I have used up some cooked chicken portions and some garlic bread, served with coleslaw.
I am going to pull out a gammon joint for tomorrow to have with egg and chips.

Nothing else came out today but 2 packs of lamb mince and 2 packs of smoked salmon went in. I couldn't resist at just 3.61 for them all :j

Never bothered with the milk ................. too cold here!!
Get some tomorrow, though I have just over a pint left and enough for my coffee's. Hubby can have his tea black!! lol

Spends today were £7.38 and pleased with that. Still need bits, but only bits.

So "veggie" day tomorrow (sun - sat for myself) and toasted hot cross buns for breakfast and the tagliatelle for main meal. Got some snacks, so that'll do.
Probably stir fry on Monday (Linda Mc prawns) and maybe sausage and mash (veggie sausages) on Tuesday (need gravy!!). Got eggs for "chucky eggs with soldiers" for breakfasts and toast for myself and muesli for hubby.
