My drs have recently halved the doseage of statins due to the problems they are now found to have caused though ^0

Florenceem - that syrup cake looks amazing....am drooling here
recovering spendaholic - thank you - these new meds are giving me the most hideous nightmares / hilarious dreams - they rotate on a nightly basis - had to shake myself awake this morning out of fear - but i shall look forward to waking up chuckling tonight
Did DD's dad presence do the trick yesterday? hope she has got herself to school today without causing you any upset xxx

Well I too managed to get some more bargains in Tesco last night...not as brilliant as ms_night_ryder but I got:-
Huge shoulder of lamb from fresh meat counter was £16.11 paid £5.23, beef joint was fresh meat counter was £11.64 paid £3.75, meatballs reduced to 75p, 2x crumpets 11p, pack of mince 78p, american wedges with dips = 50p, can't think of anything else ... only trouble is I have no G-Spots so my priority today will be rearranging the freezer0 -
Morning all.
Welsh Poppy - interesting about the statins. Hubby does not want to start taking them at all, but more than likely will have to.
Kirri - good luck with those pets.
Lip_Stick - how about "toad in the hole"??
I did pop out and was naughty, but not as naughty as I'd liked to have been. Tears in my eyes, but I did stay in budget as planned for the month. Loads of joints, mainly pork, but bought:
Beef silverside (£3.99), stuffed pork tenderloins (£1.99) and another mincemeat bramley tart for 30p - £6.28 spent. There was a small pork joint for £1.50 I should have taken, but feared for the budget!! Hope something happens like that in April when I start filling up again. Beef joint for Easter and pork tenderloins look nice.
Also spent £1.80 on foodbank stuff - 12 tins of potatoes @ 15p per tin.
Toast for breakfast and eggs with soldiers for hubby. Chicken dinner later with chicken crown.
I think I'll buy an alternative gravy, just to ensure I don't "cheat" next week!!
2013 food spends = £58.38 and January's £60 completed ................. just. But in control most of the time.
No budget for February - go with the flow.

Goodness me no way - he really doesn't need any encouragement lol
If I send you his meatballs will you keep quiet about the G-Spot???0 -
Morning all, Happy February!
Well I can proudly say my freezer is almost empty! There is some bread which will last us a couple of days, some chicken pies, a few hm biscuits and cakes (which will also be gone in a couple of days, gammon steaks, a little bit of pate and a piece of fish and some fish fingers! Cupboards are looking a lot better too. Still have enough to last a couple more days, I can actually say I'm determined to empty the freezer completely! (I am becoming a little obsessed now though)
So will defrost some pate to have with crackers for lunch, and having fish fingers and pasta with cheese for tea (its the end of the week so feeling lazy) and will make a fruit loaf for pudding.
Will probably have some of the gammon in an omlette for tea tomorrow night with either jacket potatoes or hm chips and then the chicken pies with carrots, potatoes, and yorkshire puds on sunday.
Should be almost empty by the end of the weekend!
Hope everyone has a good weekendmortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -

If you use two pots of yoghurt like I did then you double up on everything else obviously.
Then I just add whatever I have at hand; yesterday I added some blueberries which were just past date, and lemon yoghurt and tonight I used orange yoghurt and threw in a bit of chopped chocolate I found in the cupboard. Each 1 pot mixture makes 6 muffins, and they freeze beautifully - they are lovely and moist0 -
Morning you filthy lot! Your minds are all in the gutter I see.
Today I'm off to BHS for freebie fish and chips. They best have some mushy peas this time. They'd ran out about 3 people before me last time.. how dare they!!!
Tea is the peppered steak. I've got it out of the freezer anyway and if the ex doesn't want it, I'll have the spare steak in a wrap for dinner tomorrow perhaps. Might have spotted d!ck for afters..... kidding!
There's some space in the freezer but I need to have a root around to see if there's anything that's been in too long and needs using up.
May make some biscuits tonight with ds.ms_night_ryder wrote: »And baby sprouts? Scabby ones like Kirri's allotment ones?
Thanks I'm near an Asda tomorrow as it happens
 - you need to wash your mouth, and your mind out! :rotfl: Hope you manage to pick some of the washing up liquid up.Lipstick - doing the same here, had a dire couple of boring food days, need chocolate as well as more interesting food, am currently wondering what I can sell next, debts are mounting.. food going on c/card.
More pet problems here too, both my females are ill now, v stressed, hope they are ok overnight... need to ring vets in morning.
It's only going to get worse too.Paying for council tax and other extras soon.
Hope your pets are ok. It's horrible when they're ill.canspendnomore wrote: »Lip_Stick I can't believe the doctors couldn't decide if your DS needs a hearing aid til he was 5. Mind you my DS was 4 before we found out about his milk intolerance and he was the most sicky baby ever!
Wow that's a long time for his intolerance to be discovered. Shocking really. Don't be down on being £6 over, that's not much at all! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
