I spent another pound today on yogurts. Got £25 left till the end of the month now but I've got enough fruit so my Aldi shop tomorrow will be mainly veg to make more soup, onions while they are cheap to freeze (can't believe how WELL that works!) and food bags to put them in! X2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100

Good afternoon
welsh poppy and zafiro well done on the weight loss! you are doing better than me!
have been doing work all day so have eaten bits and pieces. Had a mullerlight greek yoghurt with blueberries for breakfast - I have to say that the mullerlight yoghurt was nothing like greek yoghurt and had a really synthetic taste - I have three more little pots but won't be buying it again! Lunch was some leftover new potatoes tossed in the frying pan with a few spring onions and a bit of mattesons pork sausage. There wasn't much so I was just really hungry and so ate a slice of bread with a hard boiled egg on.
will be cooking the salmon fishcakes tonight - can't decide whether to make them with chips and peas or with brocolli (from freezer) cheese bake.
Last night I went to Sainsburys and saw some of their popcorn prawns and thought that they said clearance 75p so I bought 5. Only when I got home did I realise that it was clearance SAVE 75p so they were £1.50 each!!
Does anyone watch Cupcake Wars on the food network? I am completely obsessed with it!!Jane

How do I freeze broccoli? When i cook it after freezing it comes out mushy.
Lipstick I see lol
Well done all on the weight loss.
I tried to book boxfit classes on ls today £19 for 8 classes, worked out how to get £5 off and the ones In My area were sold out! Teach me not to leave it next time!
Breakfast was 2 slices of fruit loaf and Apple butter, went to Mr w and got 2 packs of prepared pineapple, 2 packs of buttery veg my favorite one, a bag of popchips and the freebie milk £2.62 to pay, the popchips were £1 so paid £1.62 for veg and fruit bargain considering the full price of pineapple was £1.79 and full price of buttery veg was £1.99 but they were reduced and then further money off, Mr w have changed their meat offers, so i can no Longer get the easy cook meals for £1 each boo! I'm not keen on Mr s that much.
I had both pineapple packs for lunch, will do pasta with the campbells chicken soup, mix it with a little milk for the sauce, with broccoli and buttery veg. i have enough meat to last until veg week challenge, but will have to top up after that.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Edwardia:- you never know, maybe your OH is keeping it low key on purpose, he certainly sounds well qualified for the job.
Kirri:- Treatment at vets certainly sounds expensive these days.
Lunch: tin of soup, pistachios
Tea:- salmon for me with some HM pesto sauce on top, plus veggies. Yogurt and dark chocolate afterwards.
Just spent the remainder of my January grocery budget on a delivery coming Thursday. Got it to within 14p of my overall budget. Mainly fruit, veg, soup and dog food. Should see me through to the end of the month.0 -
Rather disappointed that I had to shop. DS needed oat milk and I can't buy it locally so did a Tesco delivery spent £50.21 but that includes 8 litres of milk at 1.39 each!
Also needed bread flour and got some veg for the freezer. The best thing about going was that the dairy free chocolate dessert shakes that DS likes for lunch were on offer so bought 6 packs and saved £4.50.
Still need to use more stuff out of the cupboard, although the freezers are looking clearer.
I've spent £101.04 this month which is good for usual but not as good as I had hoped. Will need milk for us before end of month and some sandwich stuff for DS, but will try not to buy anything else before 1st Feb.0 -
Today OH missed breakfast because he overslept. He took another spag bol for lunch and had the last cottage pie for tea from the freezer.
I managed 2 bowls of cereal today which is an improvement.

In advance of the Veggie Week Challenge, here are some tips from other countries on what veggies can and can't eat, from the BBC website:
"What do vegetarians eat in a country where refusing meat is regarded as a sign of madness? A BBC Magazine feature published last week raised this question, and there was a huge response from readers."

Evening all. Feeling a lot better now. Was almost a nsd day, bought a boiled egg and salad sandwich in town, and got ds a gingerbread man. Shared the steak and kidney pudding with ds for tea as it was quite big for one person. Had it with mash and veg.
Don't know about meals tomorrow as ds is with his dad. Probably a wrap for lunch.
lol at the veggie quote Jelly. :rotfl:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Thanks Lynsey, can't believe I scrimp so much then have to blow all that..
Vet also wanted me to put him on a hot water bottle during recovery - so now I have to sleep in a cold bed too lol as I had to put mine in the cage... If anyone sees a good quality, small hot water bottle (don't need one with a cover as I still have that) do let me know as I need to buy myself another one now! Have no idea where to go and look for one?
Hi saw this and thought of you

Hi everyone - am still up because I am photocopying DD's schoolwork from her friend's book because she has lost hers:mad:
My friend came round earlier and I ordered a Dominos because we had had our meal and she was starving,. Iwasn't going to have any but ended up eating 2 slices and now I feel sick!!
My friend is a total nut job (in a nice way) and made me laugh because she is having relatives to stay on Thursday who are strict vegetarians. She said that she had rung them and said she was going to cook a salmon and they said they don't eat fish and her remark to me was "what kind of vegetarian doesn't eat fish??" = er... all of them I think....... completely off topic but she told me the other week that her OH had got Sweeney Todd on DVD - I told her she wouldn't like it but she said "Oh I used to love it on telly with John Thaw" I told her that it was Sweeney Todd a mad barber who was killing people and cooking them and she said "Oh I see.... and are the Sweeney after him?"
I was really pleased earlier because I got a mini oven - a delonghi one - 1400 watts, in Debenhams blue cross sale - reduced from £149.99 to £60 with free delivery. It will stop me getting a halogen oven and hopefully save on my electricity usage as my oven seems to be permanently on!
Don't know what to get out of the freezer for tomorrow - will go and have a look....Jane
