Feeling a little low today as trying to arrange a party for DS2 birthday only to find out one if his friend's little sister is having a party the same day and has invited most of my son's friends but not my son. So not only did he not get invited but there will be noone at his party. Looks like I am going to need a rethink.
What a mean lot clearly the little sister has no friends thats why she had to hijack your DS2 friends. I know its little comfort but it happened to my kids and to me. I hope he has a nice day xxSuicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.0 -
Morning all, seems milder today and snow thawed a little.
Just a quickie today, as the actress said to the Bishop, out most of the day.
Pork chops later, grilled and with roast veg. Bits in between.
Jane - I keep "nagging" him about other lower fat methods, but he loves the "proper" sauce.
katskorner - hope you work something out - good luck.
just trying - get to that Dr's asap, they are professional (or should be) - take care of yourself.
Jelly Biactol - my hubby would love that soup.
Catch up later.

Does anyone find like me that they want to use up what is in the cupboards and freezers quicker than they can?
I'm quite pleased when I've used something up but also worried that soon I'll get to the things I don't really want to eat. A lot of the nice things have gone, I think it is going to be a boring February for me. And to think, I bought all of the food to as there is only me here which means I can't give these things to anyone else

Apple butter in sc, only put 2 teaspoons of sugar though.
Been to Mr w, got 2 welchs juices on offer, onion rings, pack of corn on the cob and broccoli reduced and also 2 pints of the freebie milk £3.44 to pay.
Will head to Mr s later, I'm having chilli ginger and lime chicken breasts, basmati, baked plantain given to me by my grandma, corn on the cob, broccoli and if I get cabbage in Mr s will make coleslaw. Just picking until dinner.
Going to throw the rice milk away, I didn't want to waste it, but i haven't.touched it since I was told about the arsenic, will have porridge with the freebie milk tomorrow and the apple butter, looking forward to that.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

well i still haven't found any YS bargains - but i think this weather has thrown everything akimbo - went into tesco on friday afternoon - and there was nothing in there - no bread, no milk - bloody ridiculous
anyway, the freezer door won't shut so i am really going to have to start using stuff up!
did anybody get any of the free toilet rolls on the Discount Voucher thread? just wondering if you've received your voucher yet?0 -
^ I've not got my free toilet roll coupon yet, had to buy some this week too.
Home, starved, just trudged across London on the buses in the snow for an emergency vet appt, £210!!!!!!
Was going to go and feed the birds today but am on nurse duty now every couple of hours so can't go out.
Just trying - get yourself to the drs, I try and detach myself from what I'm saying/showing them! Not worth taking chances with health.
MNR - it's probably not too bad, I'll still eat eat rice occasionally and most of us maybe had Rice Krispies in our youth? Maybe no worse than any other additives/preservatives that end up in our food, not that any are great but it's a bit more natural?!
Frogletina, exactly the same, I've now eaten the extra bits I got in at Christmas so am mainly left with a freezer full of beans and soup. Though a few items I've been putting off eating have been really good and now I want to buy then again!
Think I'm going to have a quick cold vegan gammon ham sandwich - cooked it last night, nice enough but not overkeen as feels bit too processed but ok once in a while I guess.0 -

My advice, FWIW, is to go and see the doctor. Not going, and/or worrying about it, isn't going to make it better. Doctors have seen and heard everything, trust me! If you're registered at a health centre or similar, you can ask for a different doctor if you don't want to see your regular doctor, or a female doctor.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Hi All,
Wondering if I should make the party earlier - didn't want to really but at least then they are not clashing with the other folks. Or have an overlap and start ours earlier so they can come for some and then leave if they really have to. Nusiance though. What do you think?
Dug out some bits of lamb things for dinner and ended up with a small bag of diced lamb, a few minted lamb chops and a small pack of leg steaks. Chopped it all up and it is now languishing in the slow cooker with veg and barley for later on. Got extra fresh cruciferous veg to go with it and probably do a few pots as got a ys fresh pack of minted ones in the fridge. mmm sounds lovely!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Thanks Gailey and Rocovering Spendaholic I will look into the mango chutney idea and see what ingredients I already have - good idea thankszafiro1984 - my OH refuses to eat pigeons he calls them rats with wings :rotfl:
Edwardia - I have a lovely picture of flying rats in my head. Squirrels are rats with tails according to my OH:rotfl:The venison sounded lovely, I know I have a haunch somewhere, probably unlabled and at the bottom of the large chest freezer. It will be unearthed sometime this year:o
Still working through freezer number one but top priority at the moment is a half sack of onions that for some reason have decided to go soft, maybe it was due to the weather this year and them not drying off too well before being stored. I've been making onion marmalade by the tonne so as not to waste them. I'm running out of sugar!!!
Breakfast fruit
Lunch eggy bread for my OH, and a tin of soup for me, plus pistachios
Tea:- unearthed a piece of organic sirloin steak for OH and I'll do something with a chicken breast for me. Just making a coffee fudge traybake, a Mary Berry 'throw it all in the Kenwood mix and bake', I think her recipes are brillient, they work every time. So pudding is two pieces of traybake and custard. The only way I can stop the rest of it being eaten is to freeze it before it is seen - sad; as I'm supposed to be taking things ot of the freezer not putting things in it.
Just Trying:- I know exactly where you are coming from but please please go to the doctors, I should have gone over two years ago with my hips but didn't due to a phobia of anaesthetics. I only went for the first time last week as I now walk useing two sticks. There is a huge sense of relief once you make that first step so please go.0
