    Afternoon all.

Yesterday had fish pie and veg and felt really stuffed! Still managed a jam tart afterwards tho lol.

Bought a few whoopsies, milk and some RTC sausages yesterday. Won't be buying anything today, but am taking ds to see the hobbit... nearly £15 quid it's going to cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before that, we're going sledging... bet my feet end up freezing!

Breakfast we had pancake with banana and warmed up Extra Special Choc spread that'd been reduced to clear.... was gorg! Don't know about the rest of the meals. Probably something with chips tonight.

cm509 - Really nice to see you posting, it's good to hear of a lurker taking the plunge. :) Sounds like you're doing a good job of keeping the shopping under control!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Breakfast was horrible:- I had a mango - been in the fridge since Christmas, but got it out beginning of this week to ripen. thought it would have softened, but no, still quite hard and tasteless. Got another three still in the fridge and they weren't cheap - any ideas??

Got lunch sorted - found a pk of frozen prawns in crispy covering from Waitrose lurking since Christmas. Also found some white choc at the back of the cupboard - still in date - melted it and added cornflakes which don't seem to being eaten at the moment. lettuce in fridge - so that's lunch

Tea:- a couple of frozen lamb chops, pots and frozen vegs. Just checked and I've all ingredients to make chocolate chip brownies, so that's pudding sorted as well.

Quite pleased with myself but I'm not in the same class as many of you when it comes to not spending. However I'm within budget for the month hence being pleased, I'm getting into the swing of all this - at long last.

Enjoy the snow, I've not set foot outside just in case I fall over. My garden looks just as pretty as those on the gardening programmes at the moment :rotfl:

    Welcome Cm05 :j

Hope you're all warm & cosy today.. we got snow and I was wondering what happened to my Ocado order.. :o I was adding so many last minute things yesterday requested by OH that I somehow managed to change the date to next Saturday. Next slot I could get was 9pm tomorrow :(

So no eggs or bacon for breakfast tomorrow, lucky I have Yeo Valley yogurt. :) OH wasn't too impressed as he had to trudge in snow to Lidl for organic milk.

zafiro1984 - my OH refuses to eat pigeons he calls them rats with wings :rotfl:

Dinner last night ended up being venison shank (offer) out the freezer and after 2 hrs in the oven it was melt in the mouth gorgeous.

OH forgot to get fezzie out of the freezer last night or anything for lunch so we had Geo Organics tinned vegetable hotpot (bit salty but otherwise pretty good) as comfort food.

Tonight having Higgidy quiches/pies out of the freezer, OH doing organic swede oven chips for me (Ocado doing them for 99p each atm if you have savings pass).

My mother feeds birds peanuts because otherwise she ends up with weird weeds in the garden. She buys 25kg bags from the corn merchant's warehouse.

I don't feed birds here as too many cats without bells about :(
  • Hello everyone! Quite bad snow here, ice too. Wasn't able to get to work yesterday & today; going for my night shift tomorrow as I can get the train in, which is good.

Waddled to Morrisons this morning - I hate this supermarket but it's the nearest one! Bought some veg and fish to make a mean fish pie. Get in!
Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt! :D:D
  • Hi cm509 where do you live? Sounds close, do you have an allotment? Kirri wont let me near hers :)

Went to weigh myself and I've lost 2lbs :) went to Mr w and got 20 mini bagels for 80p, a pack of duchy scones 35p and a bag.of.popchips I'm obsessed with them 2.15 to pay and , I need veg. It Mr w had not reduced theirs yet, there was a queue at the fruit and veg stall and I had to go, I'm sitting in the hospital with my claustrophobic or however you spell it 77 year old grandma who is having a mri scan.

I'm having dinner at hers, yay.

Evening all, done Brothers shopping and picked up bits of fruit and veg mainly. Only £2.33 in Aldi and £1.57 in Lidl and £3.90 for the day - well pleased.
No more snow, but the skies are full!!

Lidl have packs of 12 x 1 litre cartons of UHT semi-skimmed milk on offer for £6 from Thursday if it helps anyone??

Car's in the garage and no shopping tonight and perhaps not even tomorrow. I'll get by with what I have and it'll keeps spends down.
Only 2 NSD's this week, but all spend days were low ones - just ticking over.
Welsh Poppy - well done on all your NSD's - well impressive.

I feel horrible, but hubby picked up a carton of double cream in Aldi and I told him to put it back until his cholesterol drops.
He fancied blue cheese sauce. :o

ms_night_ryder - wishes to your grandma.

2013 food spends = £33.19 - just under £27 for the rest of the month and it'll be tight. I won't fail though!!

EDIT: forgot, spent £1.74 on 6 jars of mixed fruit jam from Lidl (offer @ 29p per jar) for the foodbank - decent donation on Thursday.
