I'm going on holiday in 3rd of June... so enough time to have an argument with the ex and tell him he's not coming.

I gave him all my Chicken Tonight sauces, didn't like them. Might have to buy some rice milk just so I can give him it... is it arsenic it contained? :D

Might buy an extra bit of milk whilst out picking spud up. Don't want to have to venture to the shops just for that, although we've only had a small flurry of snow today. Gave in though and put the heating on!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

    An American joke..

A couple have just moved, guy says to his wife you go get the food I'll sort the furniture, just remember I want pesticide free stuff. She goes to the supermarket and asks the produce guy, do these vegetables have chemicals, I want them for my husband. He replies no madam you have to add the poison yourself. ;)
  • I agree with you Lip_stick - Chicken Tonight is shuddery!

I didn't' make hurry curry for lunch - instead I dry fried the pork and added onions, mushrooms, a tiny bit of dried chilli, a squirt of tomato ketchup and a tin of beans and a stock cube. It made a lovely chilli and the 250g of mince made enough for four portions, so me and DD had one each and I froze two. We had it with some potato skins - I bought some reduced frozen potato skins in Tesco and they taste lovely.

Have decided to do the cauliflower and brocolli cheese for tea. DD has gone out with her friends to make snowmen so don't know when she will be back.

Veggie week 1st week of Feb then?

MNR - we might be walking up the same hills as each other lol! Not much on there at the moment, some scabby sprouts??!!

Edwardia - I've been in those big underground shopping malls in Montreal, though only in summer..

Had more toast and marmite for breakfast.
Defrosted more hm soup for lunch. Run out of Dukkah, need to urgently find out if Sainsbury's still stock this (unless I attempt to make it).
Dinner - really not sure, was half thinking puy lentils and broccoli with tofu sausages.. but may change my mind.

Veg week beginning of Feb suits me :) Got a vegan gammon I got for xmas to use up so gives me time. Going to try making split pea fritters for non fake meat week.

Can't remember who else was getting Graze on here but omg try the Wholemeal Shortbread Biscuits with Summer Berry Compote. Might have to try making some of those wholemeal shortbreads now...

FREE milk on offer in Waitrose - there's a coupon in the Waitrose Weekend mag for a free 2 pints of 1% fat. Redeem by 24/1.

Managed to spend £24 in there this morning and feel bit guilty (semi vegan wise) as I got some more Stilton to go in the pasta..
  • Happy I just.used a gammon steak in the George.foreman with toast.

Thanks for the.heads.up on the.milk Kirri, got to be.better.than.the.arsenic milk, will grab a few.copies tomorrow, I walk from balham to streatham, where do you walk, I'm considering your idea of walking in the snow lol

Yep it's a good coupon, I'll probably pick one up if passing even though I don't really use milk at all, can't resist if free. Oh I'm further out - I do go to Balham for the organic shop occasionally - been meaning to try that big Waitrose too though last two times I've been in the Sainsbury's instead. Great place for food shopping though but as I'm much further out it costs a bit to get there. Crystal Palace would be good too if you kept walking from Streatham Hill, all uphill, but might be a bit far?!

Got fair bit of snow, should be good opportunity for surburban hill walking! More so for me out towards zone 6, places like Coulsdon, etc are great, very hilly. The free TFL 'local cycling guides' are good as they show quieter routes for cycling in London which are also perfect for walking.

Tofu sausages are out of the freezer. Need to prepare mustardy lentils and broccoli..

using this recipe, slightly tweaked, had a little honey/garlic in as well as no mint - these lentils work well with a lot of things

Jane - 1st week of Feb would be OK, anyone else?
    How about Sunday 3rd - Saturday 9th??

Yep sounds good to me, hope to get some tasty recipes from you all as I've never been a veggie but willing to give it a go.

    Breakfast fruit as usual
Lunch:- soup, pistachios, one hot mincepie, shouldn't have eaten it but it looked so lonely after my DH had eaten the other five.
Tea:- not sure, probably something to do with chicken. Just remembed I've some HM turkey soup in the freezer and a cooked turkey drumstick lurking there as well, so shall have that with hot crusty bread.
