Anyone in Wales on here? Just said you might get snowed in!! red warning! Bit of a !!!!!! that on BBC News they are now showing snow in London for 8am instead of late morning.. I wanted to get back from the supermarket before it started but looking unlikely..

Stir fry in the pan at the mo, tofu, cashews, mushrooms, carrot and courgette.

^ Yes think it was that amount!

They've already cancelled loads of trains tomorrow in London and we've not even had a flake yet..

Just felt good to put the empty jar of chutney in the dishwasher. One more down..
  • Just had a lovely dinner. DS didn't do too badly either.

Had pasta twists from the freezer that have been in there for about a year! Made a carbonara sauce with some Quorn bacon, garlic, a little veg stock and a tub of soya cream cheese. Also had some garlic bread. Yummy.
  • Sweetcorn chowder for tea, nice and thick and warming; and home-made, too, using some store cupboard bits (including a best-before-2003 vintage tin of sweetcorn ... smelt and tasted yummy!). Made enough for about three extra meals, which I'll be freezing:cool:. There's nothing in the freezer at the moment apart from an orange ice-pop.

I'll have to post the recipe if there's a veggie challenge week.

Anyone watching 'Tonight' on food waste? Shocking, beginning to wonder if prices are pushed up due to food waste. Let alone the woman overbuying, overeating and overwasting food, it's making me stressed watching lol.

Kirri are you saving jars for HM jam/chutney/marmalade ? I can't do that, OH swiped my preserving pan to mix up cement !!!!!

Er it was an NSD but then I bulk bought my year's supply of ghee from Spices of India - organic this time - and got free postage.

Evening all, cold here had some snow here a while ago don't know if it still is as can't be bothered going to the window to check. A bit down today as someone I know has been told there cancer has spread, not good. Kids really sad as had a bereavement last
Year and they know what it means.

Food today brekkie egg sandwich, lunch soup, dinner pasta and pork chops.

Lynsey they had quite cheap bird seed on amazon worth a look. My birdies are here nearly the whole day. My favourite is woody the woodpecker.

Catch up later or tomorrow. Stay warm everyone and take care xx.

Evening all. Overspent today... spent about £30! That's it... no more shopping unless it's milk or fresh fruit and veg for the next 2 weeks at least!

Got a good amount for my money tho from Asda where I spent £22. Loads of the 50p bargains and some Cif cleaning sprays which were reduced to clear for 50p. Also went to Iceland and Fulton foods and got bits and pieces. My freezer is now FULL! :o Sorry, didn't buy much that could be used for a veggie week lol.

Had the pork and apple sausages with tinned toms, muffins and a potato pancake, but I over grilled the pancake so it ended up rock hard and fit for the bin.

Got the sledge back from dad... it better snow a bit more!!

Lynsey - your 'horsing' around about my burgers made me lol. :D

Kirri - not sure posting a list of my stock would be much good for veggie week. Most of my sauces etc go with meat lol.
Lip_Stick I'm not sure I entirely understood what you were getting at. Being bit thick today as we had a very disturbed night with several nightmares!

I thought you mentioned that your lil one had started to be a bit fussy with foods, it was in ref to that. :)
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
