Morning all.
NSD yesterday on food, so 3 in a row and target hit already. I might check out Asda and maybe Sainsbury's tonight for fruit and veg, but Lidl have a few veg offers on from tomorrow (cauli etc), so might wait. 4 NSD's in a row would be impressive ................ for me anyway ................ will I make it?? lol
Never got the free Ikea breakfast, got charged £1.50 each!! God knows why they sent an email stating free breakfast though?? Maybe they were for another store?? I'm going soft, I never even questioned it!!
Candles are even cheaper now in Ikea and some bits and pieces.
Managed to book the Groupon (Italian) for tonight, so will just have a late breakfast/lunch. Brunch in fact.
Took out some bread to get by and taking a small beef joint out for tomorrow. Black pudding out for hubby.
Things seem to be moving now on clearing a freezer drawer at least, but it's frustrating and slow.
donnajt - too much stuff there for me (especially with low dates), but I can see the advantage of sharing with a few people. Do you get free delivery??
I would love to try the bhaji mix, I can't for the life of me make them ........................... and I've tried!!
Edwardia - sad news re dog. Good luck and take care.

Morning all.
Was getting stressed last night as my internet was playing up, and I was booking a hol this morn, so was thinking it wouldn't work. Seems to be ok now and have booked the hol! Going to Primrose Valley with ds and ds' dad.... although he's having his own room... maybe his own caravan if he annoys me! lol
Got to clean out the rats today and do a load of washing and cleaning. Ended up spending another £10 in Asda yesterday on sand shoes and a t-shirt for a £1, plus other bits and pieces, but that's the lot now. Won't need anything except essentials. Today will be a nsd.
Having garlic and chilli prawns with rocket, spinach and watercress today for tea. Something like beans on toast for dinner.
Had the... pie... and it was like I thought it'd be. Not many lumps of steak in, but it was ok for £1. Ds really enjoyed it lol. Mind you, the amount of time it took for me to get the lid off, I could have made my own. Had it with curly kale which is a first for me, and I enjoyed that.
donnajt - that meal sounds nice! I'm a big fan of Mexican.
ms_night_ryder - good to hear the back is getting a bit better, hope it continues.
Edwardia - Sorry to hear about the dog. Must be a difficult time for you. x
Jane - I know what you mean about the squidgy bits of the pie, wonder if that's what sold it to ds lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

So...today's NOODLE recipe is....Spicy Peanut & Noodle soup
Also going to clean my fridge out this morning and can't figure what to have dinner
Has anybody tried the american alfredo or ranch sauces? got a couple of chicken/pasta recipes but unsure if family will eat them0 -
morning all!
Edwardia - I really feel for you about your dog. We had a lovely little Scottie dog, Angus, and when he got to 15 he was really struggling with incontinence and he went deaf, plus he got cancer and we had to have him put down. It was so awful. We got two scottie/jack russell pups last year and they are wonderful but totally untrainable!!
To those on the dole - I was made redundant five years ago and signing on wasn't the same as it is now but it was still awful. I took the decision to register as self-employed and it was the best decision I ever made. My friend has been going through the work programme and has decided to sign off because it is driving her nuts - you should have seen the CV they produced with her at one of the training events - It was awful - I am an HR consultant and the CV was one of the worst I have ever seen!
Was going to make hm lamb curry last night but we had a major to do with DD2 - big strop - which meant that I ended up just having toasted cheese sandwich, so I am making the lamb tonight. Have just had scrambled egg, tomatoes and wholemeal toast for breakfast - I am doing Weight Watchers as I need to lose weight. I have lost alot of weight but it has totally plateaued so I am hoping to kick start it again! Excercise is difficult for me as I have really bad arthritis in my knee but I am going to try and generally be more active.
Don't need any shopping today, except maybe milk, but will get that in the little Tesco so I'm not tempted to start bargain hunting!
If anyone likes Fox's biscuits - Tesco have big tins called "Vinnie's biscuit barrell" reduced to £1 and you get 5 or 6 packets of biscuits in it plus a really nice tall tin. The biscuits were Ginger creams, crunch creams, munch, malted milk creams, nice creams and I can't remember the other one. I got one tin (more for the tin really;))
Well - had better get on with some work - I have a big piece of work due for 14th and I keep putting it off and putting it off!!
Have a good day everyone!Jane
ENDIS. Employed, no disposable income or savings!0 -
donnajt - thanks for the kind offer. I only really use Sharwood's now (tried and disliked other dried ones) and buy the odd pack of fresh ones when "whoopsied".
There'll be some offers soon as near Chinese New Year and I'll get a few packs. I go through phases of eating noodle dishes and maybe another one soon.
Something for you though.
Jane - cheap biscuits with a tin, but we must cut out junk soon as hubby has just had a shocking cholesterol check back!! Very high, and needs to reduced it and he'll be on the "hamster wheel" soon!! Looks like he's going on medication though.
Welsh Poppy - yes, well done on the weight loss.
Beef out for tomorrow and bigger than thought, so beef for Thursday and Friday.

Afternoon all, cold and frosty here. Was at the shop this morning bought a pack of rolls and that was it. My dd said i had to go straight away when i droped her off at school as her magazine was out today, walk to the shop and guess what it's tomorrow it comes out, not impressed.
Food plan today, egg roll brekie, vegetable soup for lunch, dinner is going to be pork chops, fried tatties and veg\salad.
Edwardia, thinking about you, i know this will be a very sad time for you.
Recoveringspendaholic, totally understand why your friend is going to sign off they are a nightmare, my oh was on the wp for 13 weeks, it was hell having to phone the same people asking about jobs, it was always the same. They don't help. Then when you get a job they are on the phone harassing you, asked if they could phone new employer told no. They've phoned here after 9 at night, i've told them to stop phoning but once your on the wp, they stay in touch for 2 years.
right, off now, catch up later off to tidy up the pig sty.....oh i mean the girls room and yes it is that bad !!.0 -
Oh no Edwardia, awful, awful time, what is the diagnosis of what is causing those symptoms? Losing our dog was the worse day of my life, never ever forget it.
Lynsey, you'll have to get your OH onto more vegan food, it's cholesterol free! Though can't be helped as much if genetically high so I was told - we have it in our family but up to last time mine was still low but was recently refused another test!
RS - the course I got put on last time was telling anyone with a degree to take it off their CV! Just so they could push them into min wage roles. The people running that place seemed quite poorly educated too. The woman running the new course yesterday couldn't even pronounce words properly, I'm not letting them near my CV.
Lipstick - good luck on the holiday with the ex!
Food today - dinner sorted, same as yesterday, vegan chicken and nut stir fry - felt like a treat to have mushrooms yesterday!
Not had breakfast yet, need to see if the bread is still edible or I will just have a banana, it's the end of the loaf anyway so I need to make more, might make teacakes as could have them for lunch.
Need more fruit already, will probably wait till Friday as I have to go out for an appt then, saves making a special trip just to go shopping.0
