    I've been Money Tipped!
Spent a little today in Asda on reduced Xmas snacks. Some great bargains and some of the really good ones had vanished!! Worth a look.

Only went in for the 30l pedal bin (free 3l bin) for £15 and bought some bits:

Kettle crisps were 25p and 46p, Nestle pick 'n' mis boxes £1, packets of nuts for 25p and creackers for 25p etc, etc, etc.
    £4.42 spent on [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] goodies.

Also spent £2 on 8 boxes of crackers for foodbank (Aug use by date).

Just had a cheese and onion sandwich and thinking of making a meatball pasta tomorrow. I must start using the freezer stuff, but do have a half-empty drawer to start the year off. lol

Need to tot up weeks spends (quite low), but will do a full year breakdown on Monday.

  • Right, who had a nasty cold on here? I am blaming you for why I feel poorly today!

Used up the last of my leek & potato soup, turkey and sausage rolls for tea tonight... finally get sick of turkey!

Nipped into ASDA and once again bought cheap Christmas chocolate and load of weight watchers yogurts for 20p, which have gone right into the freezer.

Finally having eaten our way though the fridge, OH volunteered to go shopping.for dinner, as Ocado had run out of Daylesford organic chicken and his fave chops.

Sainsbury's had NO organic chicken, lamb, steaks - nowt at all, ditto ASDA. So he ended up getting line caught wild sea bass from ASDA. from the fish counter for 4.56 which isn't a bad price for wild sea bass I guess.

Need to get the freezer defrosted pronto, getting the £10 Morries Gressingham duck out tomorrow for NY day. My mother is taking me shopping on the 2nd, I'm bribing her with baked chocolate cheesecake and Greek yogurt ;)

Hope all poorly people are being waited on hand ad foot with ice packs or hot water bottles as appropriate, remotes to hand, plenty of meds that work, lots of fluids, soup and yogurt. I'm feeling real relieved that I had a flu shot.
  • I wish I got mine while I was at work. Worse nurse ever.

I have just done a full inventory of the food in my cupboards and freezer. I have quite a few things past their best before date, including 3 bags of bread flour. I am hoping that by checking my inventory I will not be buying things in 2013 that I don't need.

At what point do people throw things out? I think it will be a while before I can use up the things that have past the bb date.

I would make bread and freeze it but I want to empty the freezer as I need a new one (mine is very noisy) and it's actually full at the moment. I have been trying to reduce what is in it but I keep making things and filling it up. I'm also trying to diet.

i have loads of meat in the freezer that I have bought on offer so I am determined not to buy any in January. I should only need to buy fresh fruit veg, milk, pop etc so am hoping for a low spend this month.

I am working all this week but am going to do an inventory when I am off from the 6th of January.

Spends for the week only £12.44 and even some of that wasted if not most of it.

So, £45.67 to last 2 days to come in under £1200 and I'll only be buying bacon (if any at Lidl) and bread tomorrow and probably that's it.
I want to go to Tesco for some Baxters soups for foodbank before the coupons end (6 or 12 tins would be nice).

Biggest spend of the year was week 15 @ £46.50 and that was the only week over £40, though a couple of weeks were just under £40 and both in the last 4 weeks stocking up on Xmas stuff.

Check more on Monday to get averages when final total comes in. I might celebrate with a glass of wine. lol

OH forgot to put dog food on shopping list so I didn't order any from Ocado. This mean he had to amble down to 99p Stores today and get Winalot cans at 2 for 99p

Hope everyone who's been poorly feeling much better now. xx

ms_night_ryder cod mornay sounds mmm.. when I re-stock freezer I'll put frozen cod on the list so thanks for the idea !
