Back home after Christmas festivities, Have 5 weeks before holiday and I am determined to empty those freezers.

Went in Te***s yesterday and bought no food,if you discount the reduced ox tongue for my lunch sandwich.:D
Will not be leaving home today so one way of no shopping :rotfl:
Happy New year to everyoneDo I need it or just want it.0 -
I have spent no money again did need bread but remembered the loaf I made in freezer:-)
Dinner will be Sausage, beans and mash...sausages will be from freezer.
I can not see me buying anything till Monday.......yippee I can not see me buying much for the next 10 weeks apart from fruit and vegetables and milk

Happy New Year (almost!;) ) to all!
Will be relying on you lot to keep me on the straight and narrow for next year in doing what the title says!
Managed some reduced bargains for tonights tea- whole crispy duck pancake set and chinese nibbles for £3.50 down from double the price at least , also loads of reduced veg so 2 packs mushrooms 40p each, 2 packs carrots 50p each and some reduced spinach big back for 70p - not brilliant but at 11am , not bad either!!
To fit all this in the freezer I have taken out bacon for bacon sarnies tomorrow, cod and mashed potato for dinner and soup to take to work on Wednesday .
I literally CANNOT go shopping anymore as there is nowhere to put it! :rotfl:
Hope all those with Xmas bugs are now on the mend x0 -
I'll bore you later with the final analysis tonight (sorry), but I'm both excited and pleased. Sad also of and end of an era.
I love analysis of food spends! Will you still keep a note of spends next year even though not sticking to a budget?
I've not been shopping since xmas eve so final total remains at £900.19. Will have to get some veg for pets Wednesday but don't see the need for me to go shopping for anything for myself this week - except just remembered bit low on fruit.0 -

Absolutely .................................................... NOT.
The calendar and pages from the notebook will be kept as a momento.
When I do the odd £10 week etc, I'll keep tabs, but I won't really know what my annual spend will be ....................... it won't be high though as I've learnt a few tricks which I will utilise. In fact the 1st three months of the year will be low trying to clear that freezer.
We have talked about eating out more and hoping Groupon free fiver credits will help there.
Done Brother's shopping and went halfers on 2 farmhouse loaves for £1.20, so 60p spent. Will that be the last spend of the year?? Sainsbury's deserve to have more money as they've really helped out this year. I would like to pop back to Tesco and get more Baxter's for foodbank as coupons end, but we'll see.
Had my bacon butty, hubby finished off pate on toast and leg of lamb defrosting (bigger than I thought!!).
Off for more sales bargain looking soon. lol

^ I couldn't imagine not knowing what I've spent now! You might come in even lower if using up stocks though you'll never know
I've logged spends for 7 years now on absolutely everything I spend on as was the only way to 'control' things! I've managed to cut costs on nearly everything this year apart from the set bills that went up that I had no control on.0 -

I've logged my spends on everything for as long as I can remember.
At one time it was absolutely necessary due to a very tight finances and now I just love to keep records. Not Rachmaninov

Afternoon all. Feeling a bit better here, although I've had problems sleeping even though there's no obvious reason for being kept awake.
Spent £6 at Asda on Saturday buying reduced Cadbury's fingers for 25p, plus other biscuits and goodies heavily reduced. Great for ds' lunch box... if they last til he's back at school that is.
Ds was at a party yesterday so had to make an emergency visit to Asda for a pressie and card. I got the little girl a really sweet Princess Chef's outfit, complete with hat and apron, and with wooden spoon and cutters for £2.90, reduced from about £7. Last of the big spenders lol.
Day ended up in a big argument as ds didn't want to eat any tea, which was left overs from our dinner (so not made especially), and mam went mad. Blamed it on a tiny piece of cake he'd had at 3pm, which was 3 hrs early lol. I do try ignore her comments, but she keeps sniping, and getting more and more personal, like eventually saying I feed him on crap so that's why he's skinny... all because he had a tiny 5cm by 5cm piece of bleeding cake! Not sure I fancy going down tomorrow now!
Was supposed to be going to a party tonight but cba lol.
Think my NY resolutions are going to be... tot up my food spends and see where my money is going.. and go on a diet lol.
p.s. Not sure if I've mentioned this earlier but recently changed from washing tabs to powder, and it's amazing how many more washes you get for the money! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Afternoon all.
Just been to Mr w, spent £5.16 got 4 easy cook gammon steaks with pineapple salsa, a 4 pack of large rolls, 3 tubes of sweets, a pack of 6 garlic bread slices, a loaf of best of both. Going to attempt to put everything barring the loaf in the freeezer, definatley going to attempt to keep track of spends, stick to a budget qnd be more.organised. no cooking today, going to be at my grandmas a little later, might POP into Tesco, I need some veg and have. £2.50 clubcard coupon to spend. Will bring the garlic slices and the schloer, my grandma is cooking, so a cheap night in, qlso going to put half a ham in the freezer.
My freezer is full, so for 2 months will live off of that.
Happy New year all!Lose 28lb 3/28lb

You're right, but I've had till receipts lying all over the house for a year. lol
We used to have a frugal £20 week when stocks were high, so £10 frugal weeks is a massive improvement.
I won't be shopping as much next year, I always felt a little under pressure until about August that I had to amass bargains for future meals to reduce costs and always wanted to be that "one step ahead" if that makes sense??
Xmas was a lot easier than planned and the £300 extra put on original budget was way OTT. But that cushion relieved any pressure of failing.
If I was doing it again, with hindsight I would set a £1000 budget as this would reduce a lot of cr4p - no more 30 bars of Lidl chocolate. lol
Got all my Xmas cards for next year, but nothing clothes-wise today to tempt me.
