Porridge for breakfast - i think i've had the box for the best part of a year, so trying to get it finished!

Lunch is salad with L/o sausages (going home to see my puppy, so expect he will eat most of the sausage!)

Still don't know what to do with the chicken that is defrosting, stir fry possibly.

    eat it? :rotfl:
life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.
  • I can barely get anything in my freezer but it is largely because it is so iced up. I need to run it right down and then defrost it so that I can start to stock up for Christmas. I HATE defrosting the freezer though, even though I do it with the steam cleaner and it doesn't take that long.

Tea tonight is stir fry made with l/o pork from Sunday lunch and I don't think I will have lunch as I had two croissants for breakfast plus a piece of toast and now I feel like I could just go back to sleep!!

Did my Approved Foods order and ordered LOADS of the Knorr cubes which are fantastic value at 49p for 20, plus some of the Hot Krumbly cereal which I love. I resisted the temptation to buy chocolates and cakes though. I was disappointed because they had sold out of the HAK fruits.

  • What a great idea. I have so so much food stashed. I could probably last a good 3 or 4 months.

    Morning.
Just had pate on toast again to finish it off.
Got a tub of double cream last night in Sainsburys for 19p, some grapes (Spanish 500g for 39p) and 2 bars of Milka (BOGOF) for £1.05 - total days spend = £1.63.

Took out some lardons and will have pasta in mushroom and blue cheese sauce covered with lardons and juice. Take out a nan bread and make a garlic bread. Might need to buy some blue cheese (check other freezer later) and a couple of mushrooms.

Away after breakfast tomorrow and won't get back until late Saturday night, so eating out the next few days. Fridge is almost empty, just enough milk to get by and cheese to finish - so toast again for tomorrow's breakfast.............this time with cheese and tomato.

@creativecog, I like Chef and Brewer pubs and that's a pretty good deal and was thinking of going there tomorrow while in Nottingham, eventually decided to download some Crown Carveries vouchers for a £2.99 carvery though (cheapskate lol).
Anyone in the Nottingham area know which is the best Crown Carvery North of Nottingham?? Looks like a couple just off the motorway.

EDIT: just to add, if fancying a cheap Crown Carvery for £2.99, you need to print off a voucher for EACH person.
Just sign up and print off their vouchers - CLICK HERE

Had turkey sandwich for my dinner yesterday, and for me and lo's tea, I made macaroni cheese, using a 1p luxury Coleman's sauce from Tesco. Didn't rate the sauce much. I put in a few peas, sweetcorn and mushrooms. Ds seemed to lap it up.

Not sure what I'll be having today. Ds is with his dad for tea, so it's probably turkey sandwich again lol, use the last of it up, and for tea maybe homemade lentil and bacon soup.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
